@@ThePiSquareAcademy sir in distribution system all the mains are connect in parallel so the healthy section current enter in ph and leave through Neutral , so now other mains Neutral in grounded then the healthy section Neutral current is grounded through fault neutral wife sir, may be that's why in AC, Neutral link is used , Please give me reply sir .

@@vinay5470 because a fuse protects the circuit from short circuit failure, if you short the output of a transformer, basically you short a secondary circuit, that is not protected. There is no phisical connection between primary and secondary windings. I guess you talk about AC and phase fuse.

We had been given to u derstanding during my Elect Engineering graduation study that fusing a neutral line is foolish;dangeroud rather. If the neutral fuse blows down & if there is no proper earthing, there is a possibilty of elct shock. That's why, in neutral there is a dummy; a brass strip.

As like above video if any pole is grounded there is only voltage shift to another pole with reference to ground. There is no fault current untill both the poles are grounded.

respected sir, in case of ac since we neutral terminal is grounded to earth, therefore when fault occurs in live wire then circuit is completed through earth and heavy fault current flows, and fuse will be blows off. but in case of dc there is no grounding then how can you say that ,if +ve or -ve terminal connected to ground then high fault current flows and fuse will blows. sorry but I m not completely agreed with this lecture. if I m wrong conceptually anywhere, then plz clearfy my doubt. thanks in advance. your all lectures are very useful to me.
@The_rock_star_1495
@The_rock_star_1495 7 лет назад
I am assuming like this but i dont know true or not... In case of dc lets say some short circuit occured in some equipment or a dc motor which results in zero potential at that short circuit since a short circuit is obviously means 0v. hence even fault occur in positve line or negative line there is always potential difference from source to this sc point which results in heavy current flow as sc resistancce is very less. as this current has to come from source first fuse blows off. But in case of ac as neutral is always at zero potential there will be no current flow with reference to neutral so always fuse connected in live wire blows off.
@pankajpushpakar7351
@pankajpushpakar7351 7 лет назад
in case of dc ,if short circuit occurs, for dc short circuit means +ve terminal is directly connected to ground naa?? then what is the sense of fault occurs in +ve or - ve terminal , when both will in direct contact to each other then only it is called short circuit.
@The_rock_star_1495
@The_rock_star_1495 7 лет назад
line to line fault is different from internal fault. equipment winding will never be ideal hence always some resistance exists and hence current depends on potential difference between two points
@akshayc4145
@akshayc4145 7 лет назад
May be true if the system has multiple dc voltage inputs for excitation and drive... Let me tell a practical case some audio amplifies need dual supply +-12v or some thing..normally gets from a ct transformer with bridge that case need two fuses at ...such as body is at 0v potential a fault may occur..

@failedengineer19
@failedengineer19 4 года назад
I think the 2 fuses only matters for a motor load which can turn either ways, but I think its ac which have to use 2 fuses where u can change the plug direction when we connect,and ac shock even if ur not touching neutral or earth cause body have something called parasitic capacitence..

For protection of DC circuit with mcb rather than fuses, which is more preferred is it to use single pole for positive and negative terminals or to use two pole mcb for simultaneous operation for a fault occuring at either sides. Thank you

@warlockinfinity1208

Because it is ungrounded.p Practically a dc source has potential on both terminals.But in our textbooks simulation software we make them to be at zero potential(reference node) by grounding it for calculating parameters against that reference point that's y simulation software like ltspice won't give u output unless u ground it.This all are for sake of our calculation purpose as u can see a circuit functioning properly without a ground.hope u will get it
