Good work...Pisquare, keep doing I have more questions on earth to neautral 1.what is the importance of earth to neutral voltage? How much it need to be? 2. Can we short earth and neutral, if earth to neutral voltage is high(say 10volts)? 3. What is the role of earth pit in above two questions? 4. By Megger if we test the earth pit resistance, how much value it should be? (As per industrical standards) 5. How earth to neutral voltage and earth pit resistance can be related..and what's it's significance? 6. When to do Mantaince for earth pit?
Good video! Earthing also serves to protect the equipment as earthing cable or path has least resistance and most of the current takes this path and because of this relatively high current, it also trips the breaker (ELCB or RCD) in the process. Is my understanding correct?
Hi sir i am watched your some video, you are teaching so simple way... Sir can you make some videos related topic of transformers. In hindi plz plz plz sir
Hi bro, thank you for your explanation, its really help us to understand the basic electrical knowledge, please explain about the insulation resistance test for the electrical panel.. also how to check the earth value practically

Could you please clear these additional doubts: 1) What is resistance of a dry and wet human being. 2) Why is the earthing wire naked? 3) For local earthing why do dig a 6 feet deep hole and then place a Cu plate and add coal and salt and water? What happens if hole is say 2 feet or say 12 feet? 4) What is the difference between earth wire and neutral wire? Both have 0V potential or do they not? How will we differentiate between neural and earth wire if both wires have same colour? 5) What effect does different current values have on a human being? 6) What is responsible for a shock - Current or High voltage ?
anthony gonzalves I would like to clear some of your doubts. The resistance of dry skin is around 100000 ohm and when the skin becomes wet the resistance reduces to around 1000 ohm. Actually both voltage and current are responsible for the electric shock because unless and until there is no voltage there will be no current. When we accidently touch any live wire, current tries to flow through our blood as it contains different ions such as sodium, potassium, etc. which act as a current carrier. Now this current interferes with the functioning of the heart and may lead to Cardiac arrest. The muscles are paralyzed and it becomes difficult to let go.
anthony gonzalves 1 is given 2. Earthing wires could be naked or couldn't be there is no such recommandation because earthing wires r just for body current protection or leakage current protection. 3. The 6 feet deep is just a standard that maintained the only aim is to connect any current source to ground. That's why salt is used to create good conductivity 4. Both theoretically have 0 v but acctually it's not because neutral line comes from the grounding of transformer's star winding's neutral point so that any unbalanced load doesn't affect the transformer or device and earthing wire so due to resistance of wire u see a phase neutral voltage is slightly lower than phase earth voltage. 5. Current acctually mostly responsible for killing because firstly it disturbs the natural flow of sodium and potassium ions in heart and also cause burn from inside. That's why Edison used electric chair for execution so that it would look horrific. 6. Both gives shock but u wouldn't be get killed by moderately high voltages but u could die for a current of 20ma
hi sir iam santosh ,ur teaching is good to understand ,,i have one doubt sir if we provide earthing to equipment then abnormal currents flow through earth but the people stand on earth but why dont shock to person
you are absolutely correct Mr.Santu, we should get shock, and rather we will get if it is a huge abnormality. Watch this for more and clear details ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7vAA95ZZdjI.html
Actually less resistance in earthing as compared to human resistance ...so definitely the abnormal currents flows through ground...if earthing is not good as a chance to the humans get shocked..

haii sir I'm Anil kumar. thank u for sharing u r knowldge with us in very easy methods.i Wants to know about MACHINES & SWITCH GEAR PROTECTION, if u did that classes plz share the links sir
Dear Sir , Here lots of doubt regarding reactive power like why reactive power is necessary for transfer active power? , why capacitor is a source of reactive power and inductor is a sink of reactive power? So please upload video on this!!!
Sir teach more basics of electrical engineering which was more useful to us to face interviews, more than interviews which is useful to boost our knowledge
Hello sir, I request you to clear my doubt that in vehicles, etc., earthing(grounding wire) is given to body which isn't in direct contact with earth (land) as vehicle has got wheels & tyres, but why a person in direct contact with the body doesn't get shocked ?
What is the difference between Vrms= 230 V ( sinusoidal or pulse or DC or Stepped) wave? Is there any difference observed if these waves apply to a 230V device? Please explain... Thank you.
Sir One doubt i am having, the current ratings of MCB, MCCB, ACB are of 3- Phase or 1- phase: 1) For e.g. i am having a 1200A ACB than its the current carrying capacity of 1-phase or 3-phase ??? 2) My DG rating is 500kVA by calculating current its about 700A than it will be of 3-phase or 1- phase Bit confuse between it because lot of different answer i have got, Knowing that a perfect explanation will be given by you!!!!!!!
Nice video and more knowledgeable.... But tell me about in rainy season when we have erthing in whole house.... But after this seafty some appliance got earth.... Why......
Hai , I have one doubt. I having one generator. I didn't join neutral and earth in generator side. Then I am going to connect a bulb with line and earth in the load side.my question: Is the bulb will burn? Please reply me..... Thankyou
Mainly 1.During LG or LLG faults if neutral is not grounded then healthy phase voltages will raise to √3 times the regular voltage (which is called arcing ground), to avoid this neutral must be grounded. 2.Due to 3rd harmonics, neutral potential won't be zero (it oscillates), so by grounding the neutral neutral potential will stick to zero.
So isn't the conclusion becomes that earth for an appliance is done to identify the fault (before occuring second earth faulth and cause a deadly short circuit) and electrical shock prevention is a consequence of it?
Hlw sir...nice explanation..but I can't understand one thing that...at the time of rain or thunderstorms we say that over current is flowing to our equipments and thats why they are damaged..but if fuse is employed to protect the equipment ,why that fuse is not able to save the equipment during thunderstorms/rainny seasons...the fuse should blow away when high current flows during that time...but we need earthing to protect our equipments...why this happens sir plz explain..
Sir i have dought in dc circits earthing is not provided why ? And wt will happen if DC current grounding,? Give me clarification any hw thanku PHISQARE ,we know lot of things from ur vidious
hi sir, suppose we give phase directly in body of the device and it connected earth, now if we touch the device what happen does it shock?. please explain me
you won't get shock provided Earthing is proper (as current flows in a least resistance path, human body has around 1k resistance and good earthing resistance will be 1 to 5 ohm)
+Narendra Lolugu - The square root of 3 enters into computations of three phase systems because the trigonometric value of the sine of the phase angle (120 degrees) between phases is equal to [square root 3]/2. The denominator, 2 is factored out when doing the vector/phasor analysis of the voltages and currents in such systems, leaving--by coincidence--the square root of 3. Chalk it up to the craziness of the math. :)

PiSquare Academy thank you sir,but as you say two pin socket me already earthing safety available hai ,then why three pin plug is available in cooler , heater , washing machine etc
Sir Pardon... But I told that If there is some internal short then appliance will draw more current so at that time fuse will protect the appliance from any over current damage, but our appliance is already damaged according to you.
there could be a minor problem in the appliance due to which internal shorting has happened, if you we do'nt provide the fuse then this minor problem causes a burning of the whole appliance by drawing the over current
if i prop to v. then we must hav written, i =v/r, but we r writing, v =ir. ies interview qs to me. i said, for simplification purpose, but they dnt seem to be satisfied.
