Q: Only kVA rating of transformer is enough?
A: No, along with kVA rating, current rating, voltage rating and many other specifications will be given in the transformer.
Q: Why power plant rating is in kW
A: Power plant rating is not the generator rating, it is the turbine rating. it is how much mechanical power a turbine can produce.
Q: Descriptive answer for why transformer in kVA
A: During manufacturing stage of the transformer, the manufacturer doesn’t know the pf of load at which the transformer is going to be operated. Therefore, the manufacturer will design the transformer based on voltage and current ratings of transformer and rating fixed by the manufacturer is always in apparent power.

Variable losses depends on I
Total losses depends on V and I
∴ Transformer rating depends on (V*I), which is VA rating.

Very nice video sir. These concepts are not taught in engineering colleges. I read in engineering textbooks about the core and copper losses being the reason for rating of transformers in VA which makes no sense. Keep making such videos sir as it greatly helps knowledge seekers in electrical domain.

beacause AC voltage it's changing direction, but electrons in battery have to metge in one direction from minus (-) to plus (+)
