I haven’t heard this argument with stocks until this video and I would agree with you. However, GW has been making bad decisions because of the market share price for a while. I think even if it is coincidental then good. Either way, people need to stick to their beliefs and establish bar for quality story telling and lore

Yup, agreed on this one 👍🏻. I’m not a fan of the direction of 40K, but these moves are algo driven….when the broader market starts to move down due to the geopolitical stuff, the bots start selling shares and some stock is a bigger priority sell.

I'm still gonna buy GW models because they're neat. How they fat fingered female custodes in the lore is big problem for me though. They could've introduced it in a better way and that would've been better to me personally, but a lot of the folks upset would have been upset no matter what The lore doesn't really matter to me though because the lore stopped after 7th edition to me. The lore and the game are made up so I can make up and tell the stories I want with my toy soldiers, its sort of like a TTRPG at this point
I was literally thinking about what army I was going to collect, then the female custodes happened and I changed my mind, lore is the main reason I care about Warhammer40k and If I see them messing up the lore I'm not giving them my money, I also play the game WH40 Boltgun, W40k inquisition martyr, Necromunda Hired and space bulk death wing , was really looking forward to space marine 2 and WH40 rogue trader but now im not sure if it worth getting them if Warhammer40k is slowly going to pander to activist types it seems appropriate to try to not get to invested in the series
the community may have moved the market if they all starting taking short positions or selling GW stock but somehow doubt the noise makers online were doing this... Geopolitics was driving most stock moves last week
Nothing to do with the current "Boycott" as those screaming for it either don't spend at gw anyway or will buy regardless of "boycotting" Share went up due Covid, cost of living and price increases from.gw have pushed the customer base out.

I think that female custodes were literally not a big deal. To the point one showed up in an offhand story in the codex: I think that's the opposite of woke, the Custodian happens to be female not the other way around. GW didn't think it seemed like a big deal, there's just people who cannot handle that Custodes aren't space marines in gold. Can't wait until those few guys wind down There's no way that's affecting GW stock 😂 I would chalk it up to things that matter like shortages, falling sales overall, etc.
I am very sceptical that this fallout will represent more than a pinprick to GW revenue. If you actually go to Warhammer World or a convention, the fanbase if anything, based on unscientific gut feeling, seems to skew -slightly- left-liberal and decent proportion of females too, artistic types. There is a fringe online rightwing phenomenon of conflating the God Emperor with Trump or some other "alpha" male. But I doubt these people are big GW spending customers to begin with.
Don't talk bollocks every hobby industry and entertainment has taken a massive hit from going down the same route as GW are just look at the cluster fuck Disney is in they are 2.6 billion in dept and the normies are noticing and not spending their money on people that actively hate them GW are at the back end of this trend and are going to be hit hard in the next year

Claiming the stock is due to female custodes definitely feels silly at face value. So was this video though. Just being honest you basically didn’t say anything except “no they’re wrong because I disagree.”
I like female custodes because they more effectively draw a line between space marines and custodes, It's easier to differentiate between 'mass produced super soldier' and 'introcate unique bodyguards and companions of the emperor' now with this pretty inconsequential change
