Im a barber and i shave my head every day for the past 20 years. I have a few clients who are loosing their hair and they ask me all the time about shaving their heads. I tell them its just hair it does not define who you are as a person. When i was in the Marines i never paid attention to my hairline, when i got out i noticed it more as my hair was growing out so i started shaving. For me its a no brainer.... I tell my clients when they are ready, come see me get in the chair tell me to shave it and in 10 minutes it will all be over. Plain and simple...... I enjoyed your video and your outlook on life. Welcome to the club my bald brother!!!!
Im currently losing my hair and I'm having a tough time with it and this helped a lot !!!! Thanks for opening up a new way I should look at this . I'm not dreading shaving my head as much now .
Awesome video brother. I had a lot of the same thoughts you had. When I did it 3 years ago. I was soooo excited and couldn’t believe how great I looked bald! I do shave it every day. Love a smooth dome! Yes I’m older but fought with it for years. I missed out on awesome baldness for years because I was afraid. The day I did it and finally gave in was the most liberating day. I LOVE being bald!
Shaved it when I was 23. Not because I was going bald, just for a way of life. I am 34 now and and I still get compliments about my shaved hairstyle. To me it stands for no nonsense. There is already too much distraction going on in life and just being a guy who is honest, does as he says and being good to others. A shaved head can show to others instantly that you are confident and know what you are. To all who are still thinking about doing it: If it suits your way of life, do it. You won't regret it! Great personal vid !
thanks ....i’m a junior in high school with a crown that’s starting to thin and your video really helped me feel better and realize how it’s pointless to worry about this
You look awesome with your hair shaved short like that. I think it's a better look on many guys than longer hair, and it's definitely better than thinning hair that has been coiffed in a failing effort to make it look more dense. You did the best thing and you look very handsome.
Awesome brother, I had the same inhibitions about being bald. In a world that speaks out against body shaming, bald is still open season. It's a hard thing to accept, bald isn't a change in behavioral patterns, we can't change our diet and stop balding. It happens, and you accept it, there's few marketing outlets that will sell bald as attractive. We aren't magazine covers, but ill say this for bald men: bald men show more consistency in virility and physical fitness. There's nothing more exemplary of manliness than an in shape bald man with full confidence.
Thanks for the awesome presentation. I finally admitted to myself I am going bald and started shaving my head. I am sorry I didn't do it sooner. I am seriously considering the scalp laser sometime in the future.
As I watch this video at 2 am, losing sleep night after night because I overthink my receding temples googling every single remedy that could possibly be slapped onto an advertisement, you’ve made me feel so much better. Being 22 years old, realizing I’m losing my hair felt like I was losing a part of me as cliche as that sounds but I’ve always worried so much about things I can’t change and this video has helped me realize I’m done with it. I have a phenomenal girlfriend, great friends, finishing school. None of this will be taken away. I appreciate this more than you know.
Mirza Kulenovic I'm 27, just realized I'm losing it last week, so I feel you man, in gonna fight it for now, but i won't be the dude with the comb over lol, I'll shave the shit off first lol
Thanks for the wonderful message. But its really a painful thing to accept Bcoz everyone looking good with their hair in photos and albums except me. I am looking different from others, and it's quite painful thing to metabolize. Every bald person can seems to appear happy outside but inside... It's a burning fire off pain.. Anyway nothing can be done to it... We have to accept it.. That's it..
I'm not sure if you have any idea how helpful this video is for people like me. I'm almost 29 and dealing with receding hair at my temples which is thinning beyond my hairline. A couple months ago I went very short with my hair and realized what I was looking at wasn't bad at all. In that time I've let my hair regrow to maybe 3/4" but continued to cut it relatively short. The end of your video really spoke to me. It spoke to me because in these last couple months I've said the same things to myself. My hair doesn't make me who I am. It shouldn't be 'I'm nothing without my hair' but rather 'my hair or lack of hair can't be anything without me'. Coincidently enough today I was thinking to myself about anything that will come my way in the future. Does an abundance or lack of hair affect my ability to change my career one day? No. Does it mean that I will never find a person to be with who would respect me for who I am? No. Does it matter if my dad can rock his full head of hair but the same isn't a choice for me? No. In fact I've had the conversation with my dad about my anxiety over my hair. He flat out told me "it doesn't matter because you're a handsome guy and I mean that". Therefore my lack of hair doesn't prevent me from having control over my life. If anything it makes people like us stronger because we have gone through one more hurdle. All the little challenges we must face truly make us look at life in a more appreciative way. I digress.
Thank you somuch bro. Now i think bald isnt the end of everything because i was 24years old but my hair like 50yo thats so disgusting for me and spend my money for medicine but its not help for myhair still loss. And when i see yours video my mind its changging. without hair you can do everything, not hair not cry🚬
Rock stars that are bald: Moby, Joe Satriani, Billy Corgan, Michael Stipe, Daughtry, Rob Halford, Seal, Brian Eno, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Billy Joel, Peter Frampton etc. You get the picture!
juan moreno well what about Jason Statham or Bruce Willis? I know they are rich but i doubt they would have any problem with the ladies even if they were poor. Now if you are ugly with or without hair then you better have mad charisma lol.
"I can go smimming everywhere, i can ride in convertibles..." right in the feels. Just today i went outside, after a few minutes i noticed that the wind was way too strong, went back to my place to grab a cap. Those days make you feel like an idiot. :(
I am 29 and I chose to go bald, even though I'm not 'balding'. I just find being bald is so much easier, and I think it looks pretty awesome on guys with beards.
Hi. I'm 31. I've got a receding hairline and very thin hair on my crown. I've been using make up and hair fibers for several years and lying to myself, I never felt free until now. Uncomfortable when some people looked to my head while talking to me,, when I had to go to the beach, etc... I've just shaved my head, well not completely shaved. 6 mm on the sides and 15 mm on the top, to get use to it and every week I'll trimme it a bit shorter until I completely shave my head. It's tough, but you know what? I already feel more free. Guys don't be scared and be who you are. Feel free, nobody cares about your hair, believe me. Your friends might make some jokes at first but after a few weeks they're gonna think that actually it looks much better with shaved head rather than hiding your baldness. Sorry for my English. Be strong guys!
Jose! Happy to hear it man! Anything new is tough at first but you said it best, nobody cares about our hair, the only thing that matter is feeling free, and that makes us confident. Thanks for spreading the good word!
The moment I can grow a beard like that is the moment I'm going to buzz my head. I'm sick and tired of my receding hairline and even though it's not that terrible looking yet it's just annoying. I always have my hand in my hair trying to adjust it so it looks alright.
I have the same attitude as yourself, I'm now aged 60 when I started to lose my hair in my 30sI didn't think twice, told myself my hair doesn't define who I am, I gave myself a number 1 with a Wahl clipper and felt totally empowered, way to go.
I like this video but also, shaving it off shouldn’t be the only option sometimes thinning hair can look fine, or getting a hair transplant can be a good option for some. It’s all about how you can personally deal with the problem and what’s the best solution to make you feel better about it.
I started shaving me head when I was 19, not because I was going bald or anything just because I like the shaved look. It suits me really well and I get complimented quite a bit. When I was aged around 13 - 17 I used to have super long emo like hair that I used to spend like an hour a day working on just to get it to look decent and eventually I got it cut into a Pompadour type style and rocked that until I turned 19 and decided I was fed up of having to spend so much time on my hair and decided to get it Buzz cut for the first time. I'm so glad I did because I love how it looks now and I literally have to do nothing to it and since I shave it myself I don't have to spend time and money at the barbers which is also a huge plus. I'd recommend getting it buzzed to anyone who's even had the smallest thought about it because it honestly feels great.
theres a huge difference between shaving because you want to or have to. Also depending on how thick your hair is, shaving it down just looks diffuse and sickly.
Well yeah I never said that there wasn't, I think it's a good idea either way though. If you do start to go bald or just out of sheer curiosity like me to see what you look like. It feels so good to shave your head too and not having to deal with hair is the best. My hair Is very thick grown out which is another reason I prefer it shaved. It's personal preference I guess but I just prefer it shaved and I've never been told I look sickly or anything but even if I was I would still do it because thats how I like it.
its not, (Im not being angry or argumentative, just casual talk). I am/was a pretty bad hairloss sufferer who started young but was able to sort of hold out to mid 20s before it got BAD. Even now after 2 hair transplants, shaving my head looks AWFUL! If you have thick hair with a nice hairline shaving can look very good but it took actual hair transplants out of pocket to make me look/feel mildly still acceptable. I would agree to try it but be prepared because it does not always feel great.
i did cut my hair off just like you but im 24 y old i shaved on clipper 1,5 or 2 and it looks really good :D with my body 86 kilograms and height 6,2 i look fkn good
Hi, I just shaved my head :D. Or I should rather say shortened it from 15 cm to 1 mm :D. I like the look, but one thing is a bit off. The shaved part of the head seems to be a bit whiter than the rest. In your case it all blends together. It might be just because it's winter now and there is no sun, but I will ask you anyway... was your skin the same color even after you shaved for the first time, or did it take some time to match?
Started losing hair in early 20s, started working out and luckily my facial structure fits that of a bald man, now im honestly better looking and better off for it... really put stuff into perspective for me, also takes away all the bullcrap thoughts such as vanity.
My story is just the same, I started loosing my hair at 19 years old, and I finally had the courage to shave my head at 26 years old. Now I don't have to worry about it everyday, I don't feel any anxiety either, I just don't care. I'm still confortable talking with girls and making them laugh, and if some of them don't like bald guys, well guess what it's perfectly fine. I go to the gym, I try to dress nicely and I have a good hygiene. There's more than your hair. Stop stressing about what other people might think, do it for yourself.
Dude this video is such a confidence booster, I’m 18 and at the minute my hair is relatively full, but i know that it will likely catch up with me at some point and I’ve been researching like crazy, finding methods to manage it when it does come around. But seeing this vid, and having you explain that in reality it’s not that important is very nice. Thanks dude
The only thing stopping me is the FUT scar on my side. its thin, but im scared if I shave it off that the line becomes visible and people will notice that I tried the hair transplant. I regret getting the FUT, I was desperate, but I cant undo the past.
my hair was always thick and great but i got bored of combing my hair and all that so i shaved it. and girls are not a problem for me. even with a good hair i couldnt get any so it just cant get worse hahaha
Awesome video man! I'm almost 23 now and my hair is falling apart. I'm also using hairspray and powders and it's annoying as shit. You kinda convinced me to go bald. Thanks!
I could never go bald and thankfully, I have the genetics that I probably won't. But with your facial features, you can pull it off and look good either way.
guys, that may be true. But seriously, what has this fact to do with hair? Not much. You can be ugly or pretty with hair. With a bald head it is the same.
Just thinking about it now, but when I had a full head of hair and cut it short I got a lot more compliments from gals how good it looked. Women are more concerned with how their own hair looks than how many hair follicles you have left on your scalp
Just found out I'm going bald, I'm 27, it's not bad yet but I swear when it becomes noticeable to people then I'm cutting it all off, I will not be that guy with the comb over. I watch videos like this to make me feel a little better about losinh it lol, cuz I am definitely still a little shocked and panicked lol, I didn't notice till I got a haircut and when I got home I thought he had fucked my head up lol, I almost went up there and asked for a refund, boy would I have looked like a fool. Anyway glad to hear someone who has made peace with it, I'm gonna try to fight it for now while it's still mild, but once people start to notice then the shit is coming off lol.
When I shaved my head, people actually complemented me on it, and told me I looked much better. They also thought I was 10 years older, but it was worth it.
You look really cool by being bold, I wish to do the same, long hair is very annoying if you don't spend time, hair wax ,it is so messy like a chicken nest. but I think you look good because you have beard ,mustache and you are handsome with such a pretty face. in addition, your head is round and in a good shape.
You have a strong chin and a tan, and you aren't fat - in other words you're the sort of chap who will suit a shaved head. Even though I won't suit it, I'm leaning towards a buzz cut too as I'm losing mine rapidly, and I like the idea of not having to style it every morning.
