Today, I dig into why immigration bills often fail in the Senate. A new green card registry bill was introduced in the House on July 20, 2022 and even if it passes in the House, I talk about the challenges it will face after that.
🙋🙋🙋???Do you have to take the Jab 💉 to file for registry? Because the USCIS website says no medical exam is required to apply. What is you expert opinion? Thank you
@Maneesha Mukhi: I guess the bipartisan bill just needs 51 votes but the underlying principle is that it should be accepted by the parliamentarian governing the bill in question in accordance with policies and rules pertaining to budget spend. So in this case Elizabeth McDonough rejected it saying the change is too Heavy as compared to the benefits it brings about. If 8 million immigrants get freedom then it impacts the US economy as they become eligible for Medicaid and other public funds which is too heavy
“Why immigration bill never pass through Congress” - The error from the beginning. It’s already passed a couple of times in the past history. Thusly there’s saying it’s not something new.
thank you. there are countless click-bait videos out there on immigration reforms, so many unfortunately created by the attorneys. i appreciate you not jumping on such opportunity for clicks-the truth you tell is so refreshing, as sad as it is for the reform effort itself.

My attorney drew my case from NVC to apply for adjustment of status, my was denied. Now I am here in the US waiting for a I-601A waiver to be decided on. USCIS denied me because 30 days before my adjustment of status was file my divorce was granted I was no longer on my husband TN-1 visa but my I-130 petition by my USC mother was over the priority date.
A person who applies for an I-601/601A waiver and gets approved generally has to leave the US and apply at a consulate overseas to get an immigrant visa since it cannot be issued while you are out of status inside this country and accumulating unlawful presence. Waivers are very hard to come by coz it requires extreme hardship in most cases so good luck and I hope you get one.
@@asyongmatipid2 i am here in the USA only because I can’t leave my 80+ US mom who have already suffered one heartache, quadruple heart bypass and most recently a heart stent. I hope they will make a passive decision on my case
@@tiamor100 I wonder what kind of decision uscis make on these kind of situations, when u can't leave because spouse to healthy enough for you to leave the country for consular interview
Sad but true and I hope it stays that way so those who've been patiently waiting for years in the "legal immigration limbo" won't be bypassed in favor of folks who shouldn't even be allowed to live here in the first place. Can you imagine just a 7-8 year wait for illegal aliens when a sibling sponsored by a US citizen will have to wait 15-20 years to come here. And another thing is how are you going to give these folks a green card when the numbers given out each year is limited just over a million which is the main reason why legal immigrants have to wait so long in the first place. Removing the cap in itself is a major hurdle.
