the grunts are essentially the backbone of every player’s arsenal, just like how in real life militaries use basic infantry to protect the vehicles and tanks and more, same case here in NIC grunts are the perfect meat shield for your vehicles and other important units
It's simple. The grunts are a jack of all trades, they are good at nothing and they are bad at nothing. They are just simply needed. And there is no better unit for that than grunts.
I use sniper's radio range for artillery but I can understand the use of grunts. For new players especially grunts are a good unit to use before being more experienced in strategy or even after being one as it is a really good all-rounder unit. (I use sniper cause unlike some players I don't push all my units front every turn and play a bit strategically and cautious which rewards me with an extra radio tile for my artillery)
So basically what you're saying is "I can understand the use of grunts by lesser players (aka imbeciles) who have no concept of strategy, but I use sniper team because (unlike everyone else) I don't push all my units every turn (because I'm a bit smarter than every one else) which rewards me (for being so smart) with an extra radio tile."
@@Supersquid_11 I mean you could phrase it like that. I was trying to be respectful. But everyone has their own interpretation. Also, it is kinda true that some people just spam and push units forward(mostly new players and the main demographic who play Roblox i.e. 12 and under). I will admit I made a mistake when I said grunts were low tier(from what you said by calling new players 'lesser' or 'imbeciles') when in reality it is also used by highly skilled players(again, everyone have their own opinion). Maybe in the future try avoiding calling or referring to new players with harsh adjectives so as to avoid slowly turning the NIC fandom toxic.
It's actually simple 1. They're really cheap for a unit in early game 2. They have radio's so u can use on any tower that requires radio sight 3. They're good as a meat shield (They can be pretty useful sacrificing for Good units)
Grunts, are amazing, I had to solo behind enemy lines, and a single grunt unit lasted the entire mission capturing everything for my battle tanks to resupply and keep attacking
That is because riflemen or what we called in game, grunts, are really important in wars, they are the most important type of infantry, starting from 17th century or when muskets starting to get popular to modern day which equip assault rifles with attachments (for US army) So thats why even in game, they are as important as real life riflemen, having highest hp infantry while also being cheapest, other infantries are just for support
I would say a nerf is undeserved, as all of grunts amazing traits can be countered, but i think Noobs in Combat should introduce new or specialized infantry, such as grenadiers( more armor and an AT attack, but less hp and more cost) or sharpshooters, who would be considereably weaker in dmg and hp but have ambush, similar to commandoes. These units would add sidegrades to the grunt, making some units more appealing to certain playstyles
I use grunts M and it's rather a really good unit, i really love how they heal each turn and that has saved me multiple times, they also do really nice damages and i spam them alot
Grunts M: i am used for loadouts that have zero artillery, i am great at frontal attacks...wait, commandoes had the healing before me and had radio? And was obtainable in the alpha build? Damn.
nope ive never had grunts in my loadout i just use light gunner because even though they are a bit fragile they do more dmg have two tile attack and have ambush perk
Yes, one time i am losing most of my unit so i starting to spam grount, but somehow even i spam grount i manage to spawn another battle tank and my thought why not, you can like gain tix since enemy unit kill so it worth if you want gain tix meanwhile to spawn unut so you are not defendless
Actually riflemen is better for trolling and spamming but same reason to grunts but more tix,no trolling and for spamming but in my opinion riflemen is better because troll in pvp and make em rage
