Born and raised in the Philippines. Stayed in the US for 2 years for grad studies and all the Filipinos in my community there think I am crazy in wanting to go back home. Been to more than 40 countries and lived in Italy, Spain, Ireland and the UK as well. WIth all its craziness, Philippines is still the best and will not trade it for the material perks in other countries. Great to see videos with like-minded individuals :-)

Not once in my lifetime have I ever heard or read the words ‘Filipino Dream’ - that is such a refreshing title. I have to admit I was one of those Filipino kids brainwashed by the idea of the ‘American Dream’ but in the end, and maybe because of my circumstances, I have learned to appreciate my country and my culture for what it is and all its flaws. My dreams of visiting the US has already faded - partly because of the same reasons I’ve heard in this video. I’d rather visit places in PH and support local tourism. 😊 Don’t get me wrong. I have worked in BPO for a very long time and I have worked with very nice Americans but the news I’m seeing online is really putting me off most especially with the spiraling cases of mass shooting.

Yeah, I don't totally agree here, I'm Pinoy and lived in the US most my life, currently in San Diego Ca, and I have not experienced pretty much none of the things he's mentioned and I'm 50 years old. You have to remember everything you read in the news is not the norm, the US has almost 400 million people, it's huge. But don't get me wrong I love the Philippines and I plan on going there more often, it was just there 3 months ago and I absolutely love the energy there, but that being said I don't have any issues with the US either.

Why not just be honest? He left the US because he could not make a good career out of what ever education and talent he has so moved to the Philippines to try to be something/somebody. The US still provides plenty of opportunities to become millionaire, where else can immigrants or children of immigrants like the google founders, Elon Musk, bunch of Indian become billionaires? i live in the bay area (norcal) and i've witnessed a lot of things first hand. phone grabbing on BART (sitting beside the victim), gas syphoning over ring doorbell (my van and other company vans parked in the office), office break-ins (took all our tools including two of my bins filled with tools. More on the news everyday. It's really, really bad. In the Philippines, there's citizen justice at play when caught, if you know what I mean. In the US, it is strongly discouraged to engage or get involved, yet authorities are not doing much. they say there's not enough manpower to respond to a crime, yet when a person gets pulled over or there's a car chase you'd see the full force of several PD's chasing. More of choosing priority crimes. Just my observation.

Good job, man. I enjoy your vlog. I already said this before when you hosted two Filipino expats. One of them is your guest today, and yes, he runs a RU-vid channel called savvy expat, as I have mentioned before. We all know that the US today is not good anymore, or, shall I say, not safe anymore, despite crimes like shooting incidents, the cost of living due to inflation, racism, and yes, politics. My uncle lived in Chicago, which is also called the windy city, and my aunt was in California. BGC in Taguig is one of the high-end places to live because the rental fee is expensive. Only rich Filipinos and foreigners who are well off can afford to rent at such expensive rates.

Hey, all these are the reason why we are moving to the Philippines this June. We don't even want to go to the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago to get my husband and our son's visa. We just don't feel safe in the US as a whole. Fortunately we live in the Midwest where it's still safer but that's not going to be for long. Thousands of illegals are being bussed to the Midwest nowadays and it will just be months away before crime starts to climb. Two months to go and we'll be out of here.

@@darwinmendoza1118 I’ve voted conservatively in Cali it won’t matter cuz it’s predominantly Liberal here. As for your view perhaps you do not care to live in chaos that is your Prerogative, You can’t say Filipinos are not successful in US cuz if you look at the data Pinoys rank 2nd in richest Migrants in America . If you are Pro Us more power to you but you can not ignore the decline , the cost of living, and the quality of life due to lawlessness. As far as opportunity of course there are still opportunity no doubt but they’re not as good as before . A lot of us who wants to move to PH feel life is more relax , We’ve gone and experience the rat race perhaps some of us just want a simple life that PH offers , so don’t be so judgmental cuz you din’t know other people’s experience , you are too.quick to speak in ignorance.

Most people are not racist that’s why we had a black president not long ago, like any country we do have some areas with white racism but this is small, we also have people of color that are racist. One day in the future whites will be a minority and they will still be saying USA is racist, you can’t point to a few examples and say all USA is racist. Philippines is not safer than US. Philippines actually is the most dangerous country in Asia plus the inconveniences, horrendous traffic, red tapes, imported prices cost are double or triple, the summer heat & many more negatives. Even when I was growing up some 50 years ago, there were a lot of kidnappings, killings, holdups & snatchers. It has gotten worse. Both of you don't really know Pinas cuz you're living in the bubble.
