it will take you at least a year to truly undertand the languge.. and when you start to understand the language, thats the only time you'll start to understand the culture.. and once you start to understand the culture, you'll be able to easily compare and figure out what really matters most in life.

Separating from comfort will make you grow as a person. One thing to never be afraid of is making a mistake so as long as it's not a permanent one, you're not harming yourself or someone else. I teach my children not to be afraid to making mistakes because most of us learn from our mistakes. I'm also mixed Pinay living in Texas. Good luck, and I truly understand. I have a nephew born and raised here in the United States, finished his college, and when he and his sister went to Japan, he fell in love and decided to live there.

I moved to the US when I was 17 and it was tough adjusting to the culture. I have been telling my cousin that you can't really call yourself a Fil-Am when you know nothing nor understand the Filipino mind set. First thing they should know is to learn the language. Learning the language would tell you how they express, think and certain words are used. Your decision to live in Japan is a step in the right direction in discovering your other half. Good fortunes to your future endeavors.

There's no place like home. The place we call 'home' lives in our heart. 😊

Good for you. Take the journey while you're young and have no regrets later in life. Personal content will resonate more with viewers vs. 'why do you like the Philippines'. I have so many favorite novels, but the one I've re-read a few times is 'A Sudden Dawn'. It's a historical fiction novel about Bodhidharma.

You are both a filipino and japenese. You need to experience that japenese part of you so you can fully understand your heritage. You do not need to choose, you are both. You are lucky because you have two countries. Good luck!
