This is gonna sound insensitive but we're Men so take this on the chin: any Man who goee on a bloody rampage due to feeling slighted by society was probably meant to occupy a lower status anyways. Instead of introspection, he sought to lash out proving he was always a danger to society. It would have been better he wasn't born.

The Unabomber was brilliant and quite insightful, actually. I think his description of people being overly socialized was quite right. In fact, I think he correctly identifies what eventually leads to crimes against humanity. In the United States, I think the sentiment behind the Constitution is being obscured. We are each supposed to be living lives that are as autonomous as possible but the largest private institutions (including banks and corporations) are virtually governments that have been afforded rights to do as they please.

For every 'humiliated man' who 'retaliated aggressively' - there's thousands who don't. And there's even more 'aggressive men' who have never undergone massive amounts of humiliation. This whole thing is absurd. But if he made a buck with his book, good for him. And as one who studies history - the argument can be made that the male sex as a whole is under constant humiliation from their women being liberated by higher powers, something that men were never subjected to for thousands of years. Which means, if his theory were true, we should be seeing ultra violence around every corner.

I can see your point there. It's awful to humiliate people and it bothers me when I have seen this type of thing. However, I've been employed in the helping professions since my early 20s and I enjoy being an encourager, a cheerleader, a teacher, and a mentor. Some people are totally into shaming, but there are others who are actually capable of listening without trying to humiliate. Those who engage in the shaming tactics are, in fact, the weak ones. I have often recommended adopting a stoic lifestyle as it will keep you engaged in the things that you can control. Unfortunately, we cannot control what other people say, do or think. But that's OK! That is all EXTERNAL! You can create a joy, a stillness and a confidence that is all your own and is completely INTERNAL. The best part is that no one can take that away from you.

I heard about a similar experiment where the subject was left in a waiting room where there are two other people sitting. The two others started tossing a ball back and forth between themselves, then they included the 'subject' into the game. Then they abruptly excluded the subject and went back to tossing the ball only between themselves. Then the experimenters measured the emotional response to the subject to being rejected in a silly game by strangers. The subjects were surprisingly negatively affected. There was no mention of humiliation in the study, it was simply about being excluded. So imagine if being excluded caused a disproportionate emotional response, one can imagine what added humiliation would do.

Humiliation is in the mind of the beholder, like shame. You can't really blame humiliation on anyone except the narcissists themselves. Any kind of humiliation is only possible if the person himself believes two things: 1) he needs to believe that the trait itself is negative and 2) he needs to believe he himself possesses that trait. You can only shame or humiliate someone who already has innate prejudices and bigotry. For example, I am a skinny person and I cannot be humiliated by anyone calling me fat for two reasons. 1) I do not think it is inherently bad to be fat and 2) I know I am not fat. So unless you yourself think fatness is bad AND you yourself are fat, it is impossible to humiliate you by calling you fat. This is why many of these people suffer from PERCEIVED slights and humiliations, not actual slights and humiliations. This is obvious from the ball-throwing trick. Anyone who feels anger at being dis-included clearly has group prejudices himself (he believes NOT belonging to a group is BAD) or it wouldn't matter whether the others were including him or not. I personally dislike being coerced to participate in any group behavior and would have been more irritated to have them throw the ball to me initially than to have them stop throwing the ball. The inclusive ball-throwing trick is a great example of a perceived slight, not an actual one.

@dave hopkins actually there is truth in humiliation from rejection. Aside from the evolutionary portion where rejection in general can be seen as you being a bad thing, we live in a world where women have more say than they used to, where back in the old days a woman would be given to you and you would work hard to care for her and your family, to be rejected by a woman is to be seen as under serving of love, and to be seen as unable to fulfill your duty. You wonder why many men would force themselves on women. This will probably be an unpopular opinion, but I often wonder if extreme bulling is a form of siblicide. Caused from forcing children together in an unnatural setting, for long, stressful periods, with limited resources. Humans didn't really develop to spend long periods of time in densely populated, indoor settings, with nothing physical to do. Siblicide is fairly common in some animals when they become stressed, it would make sense then that human children might exhibit the same behavior if forced together. They find a kid who is a little weird, or for some reason doesn't seem like "one of us" and they try to peck them to death. I've mentioned my theory to a few doctor friends I know and they always seem very disturbed by the idea. They never seem to want to look into the idea. I'm really just curious though, it seems like it there was a definitive answer it could prevent at least some of the bulling.

They're doctor's I work everyday and we discuss a lot of topics, including mental health. Therefore the comment is relevant not a deranged fascination. If you disagree that's fine. Frankly this is scary stuff, & makes me question my own reactions. I was bullied a lot in my younger life, & have a tendency to aggressive responses now to ANY attempt of people to treat me like that again. I don't have "grandiose" thoughts of myself though, beyond a conviction that I don't deserve mistreatment. Does that make me a potential killer too? Also, the experiments these "scientists" run seem to me to be utterly sick. Why are they allowed to do them?

I reckon it is important not to suppress the dark side of yourself -- it is not going away just because you look the other way at the moment. It is much healthier to let the rage (negative energies) out in small non-lethal doses frequently, than to let it build up until the perfect sh*t storm hits and you can no longer hold that part of yourself back. It's ok and actually very maturing to know that there is a monster living in every single one of us.

Everyone is a potential killer; if being aware that you might be one is frightening to you then consider your current alignment with society in good order. It's like when people describe psychopathic traits, we can all point to times in our lives when we've exhibited them, but if we think "shit, am I a psycho?" it's probably a good indicator that you're not one. It's when you let your mind become an echo chamber of superiority that you're in trouble - when even you can't see how you're wrong, who will be there to stop you from going down a dark path?

Declaring us a righteous through faith when our works are so lacking. The world is very harsh and God does not promise that it will be an easy Life. Only that he loves us , and promises us eternal life,, this life is short compared to eternity. John 15:17This is My command to you: Love one another. 18If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first. 19If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. @@rubytuby6369 You know if I were christian I might have an easier time buying into this... But since I'm not I shall look at this from what I call the critically thought perspective: God... Does not exist. If he did and there was undeniable evidence of that, he would be to blame for all the misery in the world on the basis of sloppy management by me - a non-believer. There are dozens of things that hinder and make my life an agony, but God is not one of them. As per principle, the ultimate way to deflect dissent toward the tyrant is to simply declare "the world isn't fair". The world, being the planet Earth is not sentient, let alone be able to think unlike the human species - the unit that makes up society. Society is what is unfair, because of the humans choose to forego fairness and entertain or gain for themselves at the expense of others. That is why I had become an outcast in the first place. The world may be "harsh" but it's not the excuse a felon can make to be exempt from punishment. You quoting the amendment helps even less since again, the world isn't the problem. It's those I am expected to coexist with. The world is incapable of loving or hating me. I get angry at it and even I see it's futile. I am of the world regardless because I live on it and there is only ONE of it. Loving one another when taken at face value is a utopian condition, thus unachievable. Utopias do not exist, otherwise fantasy would not be a concept. As for myself: The only way to appease me is either justice or one nuclear bomb's worth of revenge. Look at Bezos, he's funneling money on robotics to kick out human workers who are deemed less productive. I strongly believe that the word "bully" wouldn't have existed in the first place if half the population had the guts to swing back. I'd hate to admit it, but I've both been humiliated and have humiliated others in my life. One example is a guy I work with, he measured something wrong and I wasn't extreme about it but I was basically like "ugh can't you ever just pay attention? Do you need glasses or something?" Something to that effect. I knew when I did it, it came directly from both how I was raised and how I was treated when I was starting out. Basically the logic was this "we are all on the same playing field, and all of the same rules apply to each and every one of us. Whenever I've messed up in life, the world around me had no problem whatsoever laughing at my expense and rubbing my nose in it. That same rule WILL apply to you now that I'm at the other end of this BS stick" I want to be a kinder person to others, but it's hard to when you yourself have had to endure it. I remember when I was 6 years old not figuring out a math problem, and my dad was lording over me, in a very aggressive tone telling me to count it out loud. I felt so embarrassed, ashamed, and stupid. The last thing I want is to do that to someone else, whether it be a kid of my own or e day or simply a new employee in the company I work for. But it's such a split second knee jerk reaction of like well I remember what "worked" for me and no I'm not gonna spare you, what do you think you deserve better than me?! I have to learn to be more conscious of what I say and think before I react because in my heart I never feel good ultimately after treating someone badly. It every time makes me feel good for like a second, and then bad the rest of the day or even more lol so it's not how I wanna live my life

His closing points about pain and pleasure networks in the brain becoming active in the rise and fall off others, really are so true, but also incomplete. I would contend that while this is wired into human nature, the individual's sense of purpose and self-actualization, the opening of their heart, is the counteractive opposite force to this sort of schadenfreude. To the degree that we see the world through eyes of love and understanding, we are able to transcend our attention towards status and instead able to focus on living fully.

In my estimation it's more about youths being conditioned and raised to believe that they can never fail, they can do anything, and that if anything goes wrong it's not their fault. Then, when reality hits them, they are not equipped to handle reality and they snap. Most of this goes back to poor parenting in my estimation. Raise kids to understand unfairness, difficulty, hardships, failure, and disappointment.

Oh you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one’s] faith. Humiliating a man is extremely dangerous. If someone overtly disrespects you in any way in prison, you have to immediately take off on them no matter what the consequences are. Or you become a permanent victim in the prison hierarchy. This is such a severe thing that many a man has earned a life sentence for murder inside the walls or gotten years added to a sentence for assaulting a guard because they were obligated to by convict rules. That's how serious it is to be humiliated. It's even WORSE than adding substantially to the time you're incarcerated, or never getting out.

You know, I was an A's and B's student without studying for a long time. Got bullied for being smart and white in an almost all black school. Got bullied as an adult for being awkward, smart, white and emotionally disturbed. Never really found success because I was dealing with a mental break that happened at 16 for the past decade and a half. Spent a lot of time thinking about morality, and what it meant to be good. Spent a lot of time learning psychology, mostly to fix myself - but along the way I've found out more and more things about human nature that have made much sense to me. Finally found out how to love myself, since finding a stable romantic relationship was never a possibility without money and muscles. Now I can get the money and muscles and I don't want the romantic relationship because a romantic relationship built on superficial reasons sounds absolutely fake to me. And there is no other kind for someone at my age. The thing that I've decided to do is go ahead and get the success, I've recovered enough for that. I like video games, and I figured out that I can double my total play time by going ahead and making sure that I live a long life instead of letting myself waste away and die in my 40's after my mom passes. Of all the things I've learned about humans the thing that stands out to me is this: in order to prevent all human suffering, or to diminish human suffering to a manageable level, you would have to genetically alter humans until that name and the definition behind it no longer apply. That says a lot about who we are. So, during my time finding success, I will in all likelihood devote myself towards learning as much as I possibly can about science and biology so that I can artificially construct the most potent strains of viruses the world has ever seen and release them upon the human race when I have finally lived a long and fulfilling life, hopefully destroying humans in their entirety. It wouldn't be that hard, just long and tedious and I'm smart enough and I have reason enough to do it. So, in another 40 years or so...Hopefully human suffering will come to an end, and I'll have my revenge. That's the thing about the unibomber and other mass murderers, they didn't dig deep enough to the most underlying conditions propagating the problems they were hoping to fix or bring attention to with their violence. It all comes back to human DNA. I know many people would be glad if I did this. I might, I might not, we'll see if humans can leave me the fuck alone for the next 40 years or so. Can't love people anymore, can't accept their love, either, knowing that it almost only ever comes from a desire for self satisfaction, self validation, or self righteousness. There's maybe 1 genuinely good person for every 100,000, and that's not enough reason for the human race to live, imo. I just hope someone beats me to it, or we all die out from climate change. And even then, another sapient species will pop up eventually that follows similar flaws that we intrinsically have, because the nature of survival in our universe has led us down this genetic path, so even they will suffer needlessly. I wish that I could destroy the whole universe because of that.

Maaan why would you annihilate everybody, just kill most people and enjoy the remaining spoils. Immunize yourself and a couple people you’re cool with and that have higher altruism genes and reset humanity like they’ve been doing every 20000-50000 years.

@@raresabraleaks8216 I'm not cool with anybody. I even suspect that my closest and only friend is simply being nice or being my friend out of pity or curiosity. My mom only cares because she knows she can't live alone - there are some chores she needs me for. My dad wanted me to help him in retirement. I have no wealth, so my sister and brother won't even acknowledge me. And it all comes back to human biology. All of this behavior.

Human weakness initiates the desire for dominance. people who are visibly stronger in a setting it can be phisically or in terms of some superiority indicating aura will not try to be dominant in most circumstances. unless they feel the need to be in charge and that will be mostly for the good of others as well as themselves.some honarable and good willed people will act even timid to not to scare people to submission because they have large emphatic function in their mind.strength is a net that holds us above despair and gives us confidince some people have this net built right before they start to interact with other kids at elemantry school and if they have a large emphatic function in their brain as i mentioned earlier they tend to be timid in order to not scare people because they dont want other people to fall into despair due to their lack of nets. this means making themselves seem open to attacks which diminishes their strength in order for other people to feel at the same level or closer this is one of the noblest acts one can perform unfortunately this triggers the safery mechanisms of weaker people because in a setting that you are clearly visibly stronger which by the way takes their whole life and circumstances to account before coming in to the setting they are subconciously visibly weaker and their defense mechanisms have incitictivized them to take whatever they can to stay alive you being kind to them doesnt register at all they think you have more then enough if you easily give this much they cant understand you gave them something precious because in their situation they cant even think about giving something so precious away and they start forming schemes and possible scenerios to take something you have and gain something and they start implementing whatever is feasable they are not being evil for the sake of evil they are being evil to stay alive its a pretaught notion every single tinny iffy bit of what evil they say or what evil they do even the parts that contradict comes from this we humans are emphatic creatures otherwise we wouldnt feel the need to socialize we crave to feel what other people feel i believe you have a really large emphatic functiom and you had your net up high and fell to this unfortunate accident of believing people actually werent feeling that low of you and believing you couldnt fall much by kindness you were around hungry people its still an evil and malicous act but the reasonig behind it makes it at least understandble enough that doesnt deem them total demons Im saying this all as a window all the best of luck mate and im sure things will work out for you and i do believe you are strong just as before going to that school

It's funny its really relatable when they talk about humiliation the difference is that im not a narcicist so i don't really feel any kind of agressive urge, but its funny. Humiliation has a way of kind of reaking you or atliest leaving you to a darker mindset, i feel like the reason its so prevalent in males is not only the biological affinety towards agression. But also the fact that for men status means everything. If we loose it we loose our livelyhoods, our communities backing. I know becaus im of as low status as you can basicly get. I remember talking with some women, theyw ere way older than me, and somhow it got brought up that i hadn't attended college, just the sheer change in atmosphere. They insantly lost respect for me, it was surreal, i used to talk with them a couple of times a month but after it came out they never spoke to me again. Just such a little thing is enough to make somone dislike you. As a man we are only to others what we achive, truth is alot of men yern to be accepted as they are. I'm not sure this is right or wrong is regards to what direction society should go, i just see things as they are. I have been in very specific vacumes where i was of status for a short time the difference is imense, just the sheer amount of respect you gain, the way people treat you its such a huge shift. Becaus men are valued no more than what they can provide in relationships and in all it is wired into our biology to be competetive, we express this in various ways sports and games are some of the most productive displays of this. In the end i guess we just want to be loved and accepted, its at our very core. The only way we can achive this is through our merit its our only hope of being respected if not a fleeting one. And when you humiliate somone especially men, you endanger that sense of stability.
