May I add white noise…just sold my home and am in an apartment for the first time ever. I set Utube on my IPad to gentle rain falling and it has saved my sleep! (Leave it plugged in for charging)

I liked your video Amber! I have the worst sleeping habits, and have been trying to get a handle on it. I ordered RYZE Mushroom Coffee as an alternate somedays, CBD for PM, Bone Broth Mid Day. Bad habits started being in a no schedule during Covid. My son's day program for Special Needs closed 3 years. I felt like a prisoner during that time. He is back this month, now trying to get used to a schedule!!

This was excellent and much needed. Thank you so much Amber. Due to my jobs I've been 24/7 on-call many of my adult years. I still am on call and get emergent health calls during the night. Not all that often anymore though. It's funny you mentioned 9pm. My dog hounds me and wants me to go to bed ar 9pm, or even a little earlier. I learned I sleep better. Dogs and cats have an efficient inner clock. She takes naps during the day while I work. LOL, Go figure...

Great sleep tips, thanks. I use an exercise bike, always early in the morning, and that helps. If I miss a workout, don't sleep well.

Awesome content! For best relaxing breathing technique, remember to belly-breathe by inhaling slowly while consciously pushing out your belly area. This method: - draws the air deep into the lungs, as well as - activates the parasympathetic nervous system (relaxing response) REALLY WORKS!! If you breathe pushing out upper chest area this can activate the Sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight stress response). Hope this helps!! 🐶🐱

I use that same meditation app! My stress levels have gone down 20% since meditating and my stress levels are even lower when I camp in rural vs urban areas. Lavender aromatherapy is nice too.

I'm super sensitive to light and caffeine. For sleep, I find what works is... ...zero caffein after 2 PM if I want to be asleep by midnight (if I need to sleep at 10 PM, no caffeine after 12pm & suffer w/exhaustion until bedtime without that 2PM last caffeine boost) ...no screen time after sunset, especially after daylight savings time is over and the sunset is later.

Great tips Amber !!! I have one cup of caffeine & then maybe 2 cups decaf. Nothing after 1. I like to spray lavender on my pillow. Very calming & smells good...Take care ❤️🌹

I sleep with a BiPAP getting sleep is very important to me I also just turn off my phone I also do meditation and I meditate myself to sleep with the breathing method I also use the insight timer as well

Awesome content. When I was a trucker I taught myself to take the 20 minute Power Nap. I’ve never allowed television and telephones in bedroom. The radio is on low volume with soothing music. The phone remit harmful rays. The schedule is important. I’ve heard doctors tell patients on their off days go to bed and get up no more than an hour from work day schedules. Sounds like you’re enjoying being in your apartment. Have a great day…

@@AmberJBaldwin My routine/work schedule. I’m up at 3am-8pm. I have a 3 hour break 10:30-1:20, with a 20 minute power nap. I do use a CPAP at night and it helps tremendously.

Okay, thoughts: I can drink coffee right before bed and fall asleep quickly - I think at this point I am immune from caffeine 😆. Anyway... green tea is _loaded_ with caffeine! It's recommended as a "wake-up" booster in the afternoon instead of coffee. So don't drink caffeinated green tea before bed if you are sensitive to caffeine. Cacao also has a bit of caffeine! As far as deep breathing - IT SAVED MY LIFE! Going through cancer treatments it was all I did while lying on that radiation machine. I do it daily now. It's easy and it totally works (I survived!) Love the advice about tech stress, NO TV/SCREENS in the bedroom. Reading before bed is GREAT, as long as it's not a "page-turner!" Just my story about sleep. Too long, I know. But solid advice for most folks, Amber! I sleep 8 1/2 hours/night... I'm good, but I wish I was more productive...😔Luv ya! 💖

Great video! I've been using a pillow like that for about 20 years (😲) and I also bring it with me wherever I go. I'm going to check out this one! I also use Insight Timer. I love the variety of meditations they have. I put my phone on sleep mode, but I do have it in bed with me. I absolutely love, love, love my storytelling app. It puts me right to sleep, and back to when I wake up in the middle of the night. I definitely want to try that Four Sigmatic Cacao. Looks delish!

Hi Amber always good see you. I have been wondering about those kind of pillows I think I will try now as my neck and back are painful in the mornings. Have you tried Rooibos tea it's from my home country South Africa (english means red bush)it grows wild on the mountains of Cape Town where I did my start of growing up as kids we used to pick it for my mom and we grew up drinking it, at least I am able to get it in Dubai. 😂 guilty of looking at phone if I wake up..ooops😚

Sleep apnea is hugely under-diagnosed. It especially affects those who carry extra weight, men and women. (Not judging since I’m fluffy too!) A pillow will not fix this. It requires diagnoses and treatment by a sleep specialist/pulmonologist.

I work 14 hours a day. I have no problem with sleeping lol. Also it absolutely has to be cold while I'm sleeping. I do have a TV in my room I watch movies on my days off. My TV will not come outa my room

Thank you for this video. I’m 58 and I don’t have problems going to sleep but I have to go the bathroom a minimum of 2 times a night. My mind gets to wondering and then I cannot go back to sleep. Meditation doesn’t seem to work. Any other suggestions? Thanks!😊

I’ve struggled with lifelong insomnia, all those chamomile type herbal remedies never helped me, the only thing (aside from meds that I don’t wanna rely on) that helped was keeping on a sleep schedule, which can be impossible to keep to because things happen and if your sleep schedules messed up it’s hard to get back on track… and making the room really cold like you said, BUT also pointing a fan directly on my head (relatively nearby but not in touching range). I had a doctor who told me our brains lower in temperature when we sleep so making sure your head is cooled helps trick your brain into thinking it’s sleeping… and it works damn near every time. A ac cooled room in combo with a fan pointed directly at my head… 👍🏽that’s the ticket for me. I’m guessing that’s why you fall asleep when it’s cool in your room and why people get sleepy on cool rainy days… cooler heads prevail. 👆🏽Did you see that pun?!? That was good right?!?! 😆🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

I don’t really drink anymore but when I did I had never done shots before bed but I can see how it would help plus it’s tasty.

My mother used to have a shot of blackberry brandy to settle her stomach. Since I do not have nor do I want blackberry brandy, I use bourbon to settle an upset stomach (see all the great things bourbon does🙂). I told my doctor how I have a shot of bourbon if my tummy is upset and it has a very calming effect. His response was - “Yeah, right”. I don’t think he believed me.🥴
