Thanks for watching and subscribing Reg. boy what a beast that Valk is. Nothing like those big carbs shining on the sides of that thing! That would be a tough call about jumping to a Wing from Valk. All I can say is don't ever test ride a Wing until you are ready to buy! LoL....cuz I know what will happen! I watch all the magazine rider reviews and frankly they bore me. I wanna know what the actual owners have to say about their bikes with passion. That's what I hope to convey to the viewers. Again thank u for watching!

Appreciate you sharing your opinion. I must agree on some things...I do envy the HD fraternization for sure....More Rallies...More Events...More things at Dealers...etc...Although I feel like I personally get much support from the GW community, Honda really does absolutely ZERO among the Dealers to promote Rider Community! For me, the Floorboards seem to work just fine for me and my Body Make-up...But yes...at 5'9" the Highway pegs are a bit of a stretch!!! And strangely regarding Riding Position... I have a 2002 Shadow Sabre Cruiser still...Since owning the Goldwing and a new CB1100 as of late...The "standard" riding position I seem to feel more at home with..Go figure! It is not for everybody..Heck some Like Ape Hangars and that puzzles me! LoL. We all have to Ride what WE like. I have another Buddy who was a Wing Rider...Sold it because he said the Ultra Classic just "fit" him better! Thanks for sharing!

deegeeess49 Try an Indian ROAD MASTER ! I Went to a test ride and rode 7 Indians a really wonderful motorcycle If you need more room to stretch out and your GW will not work for you try the Road Master and the Chieftain i was very impressed With every about the bike try it it will surprise you with gobs of torque and it pulls hard i was pleasantly surprised!

+welsh phillip The FJR1300 would really be an addition for me. Nothing beats the Wing for sure when it comes to touring and traveling. Perhaps when I win the lottery maybe will add the FJR!!!

No. After selling my wing I tried a Yamaha Tour deluxe. (Not good for two up riding). So now I'm looking for a real nice used 1800. I sure miss my old one. I'll be back in the saddle in a couple weeks though!!

A larger Bike is much more visible to Drivers for sure....Distracted Drivers are a risk we all have to deal with and assume when we decide to take up motorcycling. I ride in traffic 7 days a week most weeks....If your awareness/defensive driving skills are good, double that for riding a motorcycle! Thanks for watching!

Mike,,,i did it ,, after all these years of dreaming,,, i found an 07 on ebay from american motorcycle trading co. its got nav and other goodies ,,burgundy,,40,000 miles ,got it for 9k,,,will ship from texas to my home in cleve.oh.,,now i have to start off easy and learn,,watching videos,, shopping for helmets, and accesories,,its coming next week,, it may still be on ebay,,check it out

tony Mangano WoW. That is awesome! Congratulations. You will surprisingly be amazed how easy the Wing is to handle and how quick it is too! Use good riding skills and you will have no issue. Feel free to ask if have any questions when you get it!!!

When I test road the FJR I absolutely loved that Bike. If I win the Lottery I would have one in addition to the Wing. Not sure if you saw my other vid or not, but I have since added a 2014 CB1100! We just got back also from The Dragon and Moonshiner 28 area from 5 days of riding in the area! You will not go wrong getting a Wing. You may miss the maneuverability and lighter weight of the FJR, but the Wing may make up for it in different areas!

Make it down between April/Oct when we have Bikes on Beale St on a Wednesday nite! And of course let me know!!

I'm planning to hit myrtle beach .. then venture over to TN for a little venture around the tail. Anything else I can squeeze in is a guaranteed pleasure brother .. hehe

+Suthern Cal LoL....thats awesome. Yea man...test road it last April. Smooth as silk and when you hit that throttle in Sport Mode....BAM.......GONE! Pay off that FJR and get you a Wing...but don't get rid of the FJR! Have the best of both worlds my man! A full sport bike never appealed to me...but the FJR felt great with the riding position! +MemphisMike definitely NOT getting rid of the FJR! Yea Sport Mode is great, & you can use Touring mode for 2 up. It really is a smooth bike, & easy on the eyes! Thanks for subbing by the way. +MemphisMike Yea I watched one of your vids where you talked about playing. Definitely lots in common. Man the 2016 FJR was just announced today! They finally added a sixth gear and LED lights!! You'll be getting the FJR while I'll be getting the 2015 Goldwing lol (I like that Red)

Thanks Blackhawk! Yeah honestly and medium speeds I can make a Stogie last quite a while with that Fairing and Windshield! On the Shadow it will burn up and fall apart in 10minutes! I actually looked at VStar as well when I bought my Shadow. Great machines! Thanks for the comments!

It is a LOT of bike for sure. You are correct, it can be learned...but slow speed can be an issue for some. When it starts to tip and you are off balance...might as well give up and let her down! It's not for everybody. Like I said, I really dig the FJR1300 too. Am not so satisfied with the Cruiser feel anymore. Not showing the Shadow much love these days!

The low center-of-gravity on the GW makes it much easier to handle than you would expect. You really need to ride one to appreciate how this helps. Also, having a REVERSE gear is a big help.

Man that's great. Have you had a chance to test ride either? If not, you will find they are Apples and oranges in the riding...nonetheless I am sure you will be happy with either. As you can see, I do love my Wing tho and would buy it again after having it coming up on 2 yrs in October! We just got back from the Smokies about 2 weeks ago. Man what a blast. RubenAlonzo I change my own Oil/plugs/shaft drive fluid. Rain is shed pretty good on Wing, especially with F4 WinScreen. Bike handles well in Rain. I run Dunlop E4 tires and get good life. Thanks for watching!

+1 Lone Ranger Man that sounds fun. As close to a Crotch Rocket I would like to get would maybe be a FJR1300. Something with an upright riding position, or maybe a VFR 1200 with some different bars added. Not sure how old you are, but we gotta bust this myth that the Wing is an "old man's" Bike! LoL.. at WingDing37 this past year, I almost felt like I was....and I am 52!!! Man thanks for watching and keep me posted on your Wing purchase as well.

I am 43. I think Chris Caliente starting to bust that myth wide open. I will keep watching. Also, I was up in Memphis back in August. Gotta get the wing for I can come back up to the Central BBQ. I am from Florida.

That is something I cannot honestly answer. There is a Brake recall on 2001-2015 models right now I do know.i would do some research if looking at used. Also "Cruisemans Garage" on RU-vid has a video with tips on buying used Wing!!

I actually love the bike! It rides great. One of the best things about it is the adjustable windscreen. That thing is awesome!! You are right about time flying by. I'm trying to take in as much of family, riding and watching MemphisMike and his buddy Chris out on the Goooooooldwings...

Still seeing comments. We live Gatlinburg/Seveirville area. Yeah Wing a big jump from a Burgman for sure. What area of Memphis did you live in?

@@MemphisMike901 I was born in Frayser. The last 20 years I lived in Bartlett. Now I live just outside Gatlinburg in an RV park. Love it! My first venture into the motorcycle world was a Yamaha Virago 250. I could handle it with no problem. The Burgman is heavy enough that I've had it lean too far a few times and laid it down. Always at a stop. No telling what a Goldwing will do!

735 miles best day so far on the Wing. Wing seat is very comfy to me. How accustomed are you to riding ALL Day long? I know some that cant ride long on the Wing without some sort of cushion i think some of it comes down to how conditioned you are for riding. I am also 54😉

MemphisMike That may be my issue. I'm not used to riding long distances. I rode my FJR all over Utah last year after I retired but didn't do more than 300 miles a day. I did 2000 miles in about 2 weeks and wished I had a better seat. I think I'm going to rent one for a day and see what it's like. Thanks for the response.

There is the option of after market seat for Wing. Good Lord they cost more than my couch tho!! 😂 do you think say a Corbin Seat for your FJR would help would help the butt out maybe?

Yes, that's an option and I've thought about it. Seth Laam does great work out of California. On my trip last year I had a sheepskin pad on my seat. It seemed to help. But, there are other reasons for me to think about a GW too. Cruise control and stereo being 2 big ones. Plus the fact that a GW is a Cadillac is a good reason to think about one. :)

Yes sir....I may be a little biased, but the Wing is Cadillac in my book. I am as happy today with mine as I was when i acquired it in October of 2014. If you enjoy sporty aggressive riding like the FJR I highly encourage you to check out the new 2018 Goldwing. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how well it handles and performs, especially in the curves!!!!!

A Babbit I only had a few items that were taken care of under extended warranty. Also replaced Fork seals and put in All Balls Stem Bearings. Other than that...no serious mechanical issues to report!

I was thinking of "graduating" to a Goldwing 1800 from my 1500. LoL... Nope not to a Harley, but to the newer Goldwing 1800... I just don't think I need the extra power and thus the added expense of buying an 1800 Goldwing.

A Babbit You know I dont have any experience with the GL1500. Many 1500 owners Love them and you couldnt make them switch to a 1800. Then i hear others that move to the 1800 that were glad they did. Thats a hard call to make!
