Great video! My son is there now. He entered with no flying experience and was in a plane by week 3. The only thing that has hindered his progress has been weather. Looking forward to hearing about your experience there!

Do you need to manor in aviation to be apple to fly at Florida tech? Or can you major in something completely unrelated and still be able to fly and get your ppl and commercial?

Actually I am a current flight student on Fit Aviation as well as an FIT student. I got my private here and took my instrument checkride, and passed on this month. Definitely I love how it goes. Flight programs, 141 flight school, college classes, and everything else is good. Proud to be here, good to be an aviator on here. Thanks for your clip, hope to see you on flightline!

Hi mate, I was a student from England at FIT Aviation between 2016 - 2019. I done their EASA training programme, by far, they are the best school I have ever attended.

Obviously, I'm an international student, so I'm a little burdened with tuition, but I'm looking forward to flying with you guys. I am now working on the visa process step by step. But one thing I'm curious about is that pilot medical standards exist? Then should I take an FAA medical exam before going to FIT?

Hi Luke. Great video. How do you like FIT so far? Did you get to fly within that first week? My daughter has been accepted for fall 2024 and is very excited.. she is working on her PPL right now. I was curious if you found the expectations of FIT meet the reality after you attended. Great job on all the research you did by the way.

sounds like you certainly did your research I will tell others your age to look into it...I went from Boston in 1993 to Georgia Tech and you forgot a great reason I bet we both had no more shoveling show and you got beaches as a bonus......I choose GT cause computer engineering was a new thing back then and they graduated more electrical engineers than anyone...I didn't become a pilot till I twice your age

The current staffing decides whether you fly the first week or not of any school. The school you choose may change when you get there. I’m at UND, it’s a darn good school.

Appreciate this video a lot. I’m getting out of the military and was considering this as my top school. Would you recommend getting a ppl beforehand or just getting while at FIT? In terms of cost and time. As well as overall experience.

Thank you for your service! I’d definitely say get your PPL before you go. It will save you money and let you really see if you want to be a pilot before you invest a large amount of money.

Awesome that you want to get into flying! I’d recommend looking at organizations like EAA, AOPA, and Young Aviators that provide scholarships for flight training. They’re also local ones so ask around and make sure to build that network. Best of luck!

I am majoring in Aviation Management with Flight, however, you can add flight to any degree at Florida Tech!

What are some of the other colleges, other than FIT, that have an Aviation Management degree option that will still allow you to get all of your pilot licensing and allow for reduced 1,000 hours with the extra safety of havign a more business centric degree?

I think Auburn is a great program. Many of the schools offer top of the line flight training. I’m not too familiar with Auburn, but what I’ve heard is good. I would recommend looking into specifics on the college and making a list of pros and cons to compare to YOUR list of what you’re looking for in a university! Hope this helps.
