Why I chose the Acura integra over the WRX, Civic Si, GTI, etc. 

Solid choice man. When you were asking the question of what should you get, I wanted to comment with some logic but I didnt because buying a car really is a personal emotional decision, no matter how much we try to justify it with logic. But I felt this was the better choice because (1) you already have a WAY faster car than the WRX so speed didnt matter. (2) You already had a very thirsty weekend car so this would be a huge relief on the wallet as a daily compared to the thirsty WRX. (3) FWD can handle winters fine (I live in Canada and have always used All Seasons on FWD). (4) Much nicer features and interior and safety that your family would appreciate. Funny thing I own the same spec as this Integra, and my reason for subscribing to this channel was that you own my dream second car - the ZL1. Once I get that we will be twinning lol

I would’ve gone with the WRX for winter drive but I respect your decision. When a dealer rubs you the wrong, take your money somewhere else!

I think you made the right choice, Que - especially in the environment we've found ourselves in where people are paying an extra car's worth of markup for what they wanted. The people that don't understand/agree with your decision are probably in the mindset of choosing a car to race with in Forza, rather than thinking like a rational consumer who needs a practical daily that also checks all the boxes. 35+ highway MPG and both the aftermarket and reliability of a Honda product just can't be ignored!

I test drove everything under the sun and I decided on the Integra as well. I had an 01 so it was a full circle moment for me. Everything sort of aligned itself in order for this to happen. Long story short it’s what I’ve been missing after having owned other enthusiast cars. Yeah it’s not the coupe of old, but it’s a fantastic car of new. I tested the CVT and Manual, both equally fun to my surprise but i ultimately decided to go with the manual since I’ve always wanted to daily a manual (my other manual cars were summer only). This car is very comfortable and has the spirit of previous generations. Handles like a dream and sounds good imo. Waiting patiently for my delivery now. Great video! 🙏🏽

Super solid choice! This thing will be a great commuter and family car I know your children will appreciate the ride quality and it’s super practical! The gas mileage is splendid, sound system is boomin for stock one of the best, I heard it’s comfy, still plenty of fun for the power and the chassis is solid as well! I love the color it’s beautiful! For a winter rig, I would've went with the wrx for obvious reasons. That's why I bought one. However, I have owned an Integra GSR in the past and several other Honda's and I certainly respect your decision. The new Integra is nice!

good choice man. the integra is a mature car and has all the engineering R&D/refinement of the civic platform, with a touch of luxury and solid performance.

Just got a 2023 Mazda3 HB 6speed manual. Not sure why the Mazda isn't in this conversation. With 191 hp it's not quite in the league of the others but has just enough power to be fun with the stick and it gets great gas mileage. Handles well, (would be great with some sticky tires) the interior is top notch, and the Bose stereo is awesome. And Mazda doesn't charge over MSRP. (at least my dealer doesn't) Perfect little commuter!

I'm #2 on the waitlist for a GR Corolla at a non-markup dealership. Looking at the same cars you have too. The advanced driving assist features are in the VWs, Honda Civic Si and Type R, and even regular Corollas and Civics. I'll only go through with it if there's no markup as well. Good on you for not buying into those markups. News is very slow on the GR Corollas, but hope to hear something soon!

AWD is great for winter driving where you live, but the front wheel drive will do the trick too while also getting better fuel economy 👊

I cross shopped the same cars. Manual only for me too. Test drove a WRX and really liked it. The GTI switchgear was a big turn off for me. The Civic Si is what I really wanted, but it was priced so close to the Integra that I just went with the Integra instead.

Definitely would've went with the wrx. In your weather conditions it handles like a dream but much respect. Keep up the great work my brother!!

I was very close to buying a Civic Si, but I couldn't find any dealers selling for MSRP. I finally found one was more reasonable, but of course with mandatory dealer options which brought the car up to $36K. Then out of curiosity I called the local Acura dealer and they had just one Integra arriving. I asked if they would be willing to sell at MSRP and they thankfully said they don't do markups so I canceled my deposit for the Civic and went for the Integra instead. I'm very very happy with it so far.

The acura has a more refined look and feel from the subie. I have a 2020 wrx, Acuras always have that little bit if extra luxury.

It's a keeper. I do think Acura should have made all integras hybrids, like the civic hybrid hatch, but with 200 horsepower, because of the batteries torque, it would be faster and get even better gas mileage, and that would justify the price difference . And Honda knows how to give a manual transmission to hybrids, in all models, with cvt optional

So looking at these 2 cars … I live in rural Canada with 10 min of gravel roads every day … which are sometimes muddy or snow … think the smartest choice would be the Subaru for the AWD … but the Integra is a nice car. Manual is a preference for me and I don’t like SUV’s… I own a 4x4 truck, so if roads really bad if t add I’d that. Perhaps it depend on which one is available

i drive '15 wrx mt, my dad got '22 wrx gt at. the mt wrx will get blank buttons. if you didn't care about power or drivetrain then the integra would be my pick. the tech package is pretty sweet.

Great pick! Acura is an amazing manufacturer! Shout out for the Hyundai love too! I have a 2022 Veloster N and LOVE it! Fun as hell! (Same exact specs as the Elantra N but hatchback). You definitely got the best color for the new Integra too! Congrats brother!

I would've done GTi for the extra space and the only reason I'd go integra over Si is for the cvt option since I'm not a fan of driving manual daily but otherwise great video!!

Can't go wrong with an Acura. Always liked the "Steel Gray" over Red/Orange interior combo on just about anything lol. That Teg is clean though man. Like it. Can't beat a Honda manual. Que would you still take the Integra over the WRX if it's your only car daily driver? I'm in the Chicagoland area, but I drive about 15,000 miles a year so I keep going back and forth of which car makes the most sense.

Que, did you ever test drive the Mazda 3? Been just casually looking around, and this is one that came up. I had a 2020 Mazda MX-5, and really loved it, so I was thinking about looking at one of these. You can still get a manual transmission on one, as long as you go with the FWD and not AWD, and also don't go up to the Turbo model, and I could also still get it as a hatchback for the added practicality. Like you, I already have the 2SS 1LE for my fun car, so just looking to maybe add something fun and practical to use as a daily year round.

As an old man the Integra s adj suspension is a big deal . The WRX gas mileage is the same as a full size 2.7 f150 . No way . I have a newer Miata but still want to enjoy the hour long drive to work . I 100 percent think the Integra Manuel is the choice . The heads up and stereo are icing on the cake . Damn that focus rs rides harsh to me. Fast though.

New to the channel, thank you very much for your opinion about the Integra. I have been comparing WRX 35k, GTI 37k, Civic SI 36k, and Integra 43k(all CAD, no markups) for about 2 months now lol. I have put in a deposit for Civic si and GTI, the other 2 are available to buy. Which one would you recommend to a 34year old guy who won't be doing any tune or racing, but just wants to drive a reliable manual car? Thank you!

You made a great choice, since you already have a race car. The Integra will suit you well for everyday driving.

Manual👍getting harder to get one in the US. Was even looking for a new Toyota corolla Xse hatch back but they are not offering manual anymore. Maybe the Toyota Corolla GR but to expensive. Acura integra is an option but out of my price range right now

How are you liking the limited slip differential so far? Does it help with cold weather driving?

Interesting you mentioned the Elantra N. I am on my 3rd Hyundai (2018 ES, 21 Sonata, 22 SC Limited) in the past few years after selling my 04 TL that I had for 12 years. I regret to this day selling it as the fit and finish on every Hyundai since doesn't compare to the TL even with being aged. Which is why I am back in the market and looking to go back to Acura so the Integra would be my choice. I am curious on the fit n finish on this Acura and if they still have th equality of the old or if they are on par with the Hyundai's and Kia's.

I hope when the Integra S comes out they will deal on the regular ones. Manual is the way to go.

Did you find any noticeable differences between the Canadian spec and American spec SI?

I'd have gone wrx just because I've done the hot fwd thing already. That said, the integra is a whole lot nicer.

I would go for the Integra too. Sadly, is like 10K over MSRP. I feel 42K+ is just too much for a 200hp 1.5 liter car. I have a 2017 CVT civic Hatchback stage 1 tuned with 220hp so I don't think it would be a great update.
