I have had these tires on my Silverado for a few years and I agree that they are a great tire. One thing to note is that as they wear, the do get insanely loud. It’s tough to have a conversation at highway speeds over their howl. They were very quiet when new. I’d still likely buy them again.

Nice review man. I'm definitely getting a set of these Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac for my Toyota 4Runner Limited 2001 4x4. I have it stock (no liftings or anything special) so I'm thinking maybe getting them 265/70 R16, which is the original size. Thxs bud!
Your videos have been super helpful, and that truck is a sweet setup, aspirational for my newly acquired '07. BUT . . . . I couldn't help but cringe to see the stock head unit in your stereo. What are you doing man? Do you just not listen to music? Please tell me that's one your to-do, that's like car mods 101 right there. A fun and very rewarding little project. Really makes an older car feel new.

I've loved the Duratrac on my 06 4Runner... I've noticed though, that after 45k km the winter performance is not up to par. There's still lots of tread for the other three seasons so I've decided this year to bite the bullet and get dedicated winters. Glad I found some 4Runner content; and Canadian at that! I've got the V6, though. What bicycle is that?
It's an older Pivot Mach 5. Honestly if I get 45k kms of great performance from these, I won't feel like they owe me anything else after that point. I noticed on my Jeep that they tend to get louder as they wear as well but that's pretty normal for off road tires
I have 265/65/17 just be careful when it rains or you can end up in the other side of the road. Over all great tires If I up grade to 285/70/17 may have to add a life kit. I have a 4th gen but I'm digging your tires.
I now have a 4Runner and a WJ with Duratracs. I'm going to take the Duratracs off the WJ and put them on the 4Runner. I love Duratracs. They're smooth and quiet on the highway and great on the snow.
I have the same size on my WJ, with a 3" lift it took a bit (ok, more than a bit) of trimming to get them in there. I chose them after noticing all the plow trucks at the company I work for have these for the reasons you stated. With the Vari Lok in the rear and a Tru Trac in the front and these tires my WJ is like a snowmobile.
junk. duratrac are junk. I've had 2 sets and realized if you replace them at half tread life they seem ok, but it's all downhill from there. They wear very uneven, cause bad breaking pulsations and are loud. I would not recommend them for anything.
@@CanadianGearheadyes I did. 298,500 miles, I keep up on all maintenance. I went through 2 sets of the duratracs. replaces the first set early at about 50%. I wasnt very happy but still went with them again, but kept the 2nd set longer and its all downhill after 50%. The pulsating when I'd break was terrible. I would not recommend the duratracs ever.

I'm one of those folks who runs dedicated studded winter tires. I had the Duratracs on my JK and they worked great for most applications but I did find them a bit lacking on icy roads. Now that I have my 15 4Runner I'll be running two sets of tires again.
I have these on my 2017 Landcruiser look great and perform awesome from sand snow and mud. I wanted a hybrid tire looked at Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Mickey Thompson AT, and Maxxis Razor AT 811 but none had the three peak snow rated which helps when in the mountains.
Call me weird but whenever I see a cool car on a parking lot I check the condition of their tires. That way I know what kind of owner they are , wether they take care of their car or wether they are car enthusiasts.

I'm up in Wahnapitae Ontario Now and after extensive research for best winters for my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara 18" rims w crap factory BFBadrich A/T's. Bought 4 Goodyear Duratrac LT265/70R17's . Studded. in new steelies. 8ply rocks. Extra advice option: sanded new steelies lightly w 320 and sprayed entire rims w Black bed liner compound for those who prefer low maintenance and performance that supersedes "the Look". BFGs are really good. Smoothness idk... I would def go with the BFGs though. Currently have duratracs on my 4th gen. My dad has BFG KO2s on his 2010 Tacoma and 2011 Runner and they're better. Quiet and I would say they look nicer too
What are the use on the roads up there I’m in Chicago and we use tons of salt I’m wondering if you sold or are you send or just exactly what but damn the salt certainly just eats the cars alive
Oh man I know the winter struggle especially out here in northeastern New Brunswick damn winter started in October last year and didn’t let up till late April, so I’m on the hunt for some new tires for my 4Runner before that snow starts flying.
If I were to do it all again I would consider running the same tire in more of a pizza cutter size for the winter. Even in this size, the Duratrac is still awesome in bad weather though

I have an 03 Sport (V6), in Minnesota and am looking to replace my 265 Dueler AT’s next summer as well as delete XREAS and install a lift. Been really happy with these tires and XREAS but Im at 200k and really like the stance of your 07 and would like to go to 275 or 285’s. Much props to u V8 dudes but I really love my V6 and I’m wondering if someone makes a great set of headers for these. I know about the Y-pipe and Gibson cat back exhaust already. Anyway yap yap yap, nice truck! Like your style. Subbed & liked.
@@dominiquestephenson195 Pizza cutter = tall and skinny like the wheel on a pizza cutter haha. I'm not sure if anyone makes headers for the V6. I don't think their manifolds are known for cracking like the V8
Ahhh...well we like tall, blonde & slim here in Minnesota! 🤣 Other than being super rusty my EM is fine but I like the idea of gaining back some of that mpg I’ll lose with the lift & tires. Another you-tuber with my setup claimed a 3 mpg gain after installing the hi flow Y-pipe & Gibson cat back exhaust. He said it was quicker too but torque suffered a bit. I definitely don’t want a torque loss so gonna keep looking. Thanks again for your VERY informative vids. Please keep em coming! I love working on my vehicles but I absolutely HATE washing and waxing. I just won’t do it. Wish you were closer. Lol. My old dog is Galactic Gray but I’m tired of the color and am looking into having it painted that beautiful deep Toyota blue. If you have any advice hit me up. I have no idea how much a good paint job costs here in the upper Midwest.
Good video but they aren't rated for extreme winter use just like a snow tire. They are better in snow than most a/t tires but no where near a snow tire.
