Today I unbox my latest acquisition, and the last addition to my watch collection for 2023. But this is no ordinary watch! Not only is it a super rare timepiece at an amazing value, and from one of the oldest and most prestigious Swiss watch brands in the world, but it is also utterly beautiful and encapsulates everything that a classy watch should have. In this video I unbox the Girard-Perregaux 4794 and share my initial thoughts on this sublime watch. I think you just hit a "home run" there my friend! Definitely pure class! I love the way you make us think differently, and surprise and delight us with a brand and style we never thought of. Couple that with the fascinating history, education of the design language, makes your watch channel my absolute favourite! It's so nice to see your passion as a true watch enthusiast, being expressed in such a unique and creative fashion. Unearthing these little gems, like the Universal Geneve and now this stunning GP, makes my heart sing. You've taken my appreciation of horology, yet again, to a brand new level! Onwards and Upwards! Just "Wow". That watch seriously looks like it was made for sitting on your wrist. I'm generally not a fan of rose either, but the blend with the yellow dial looks absolutely fantastic in your wrist with the updated strap. I have too much red in my tone for gold to work for myself, but that's a real stunner for you. You managed both onward and upward this time.

Stunning piece! You did well. I am generally not a fan of power reserve indicators on the dial, but this was done tastefully. The movement is beautifully decorated.

Great find. Congrats! PC, of course (Pure Class). You always manage to think outside the box and get something unique and that really suits your fine taste in watchmaking. I also somewhat recently found a Japan limited edition timepiece from around the early to mid 1990s.. a really cool Longines L2.606.4 Weems Pilot Watch that is a pretty faithful Replica* (*Longines' own words and it's engraved on the case back). I think it would also be right up your alley for cool WW2 pilot watches like your vintage Omega Seamaster CK2229 (or the earlier bezel version CK2129).

Broadening horizons with pure class 👌🏼 Would love to see some content regarding Swiss watch brands that are no longer with us today. I’m sure there must be some great history and technical advances in watch making that can be contributed to brands that have either been absorbed my other brands, or those that simply just didn’t survive.

My choir traveled to England this summer, and at St. Paul's Cathedral London, our rehearsal room was near Christopher Wren's final resting place in the crypt. Singing a Sunday mass under his famous dome was among my most magnificent experiences ever!

That’s a beautiful watch TGV. Your wife’s Omega Deville used to be my favourite watch. That GP you just got is now my favourite. I really do have a soft spot for dressier classy watches. They remind me of watching a movie that takes place in the early 1900’s in London when Men would dress up to go anywhere.

Not normally a lover of gold watches but this is stunning , the work on the dial face and the movement would just keep me looking at it rather than telling time. I love old Pocket Watches so maybe this is what draws me to it esp with the blued hands. The strap just goes with the watch and again a great price by Hirsch. Congrats on a stunning piece

My great grandfather had a GP. He gave it to my grandfather, who gave it to my dad (his son-in-law, his other son-in-law got a Rolex Submariner that he hid in a shaving cream can safe that my aunt threw away by accident). My dad gave the GP to my brother...who isn't even into watches!

Looks stellar hope you enjoy it! I've been wearing my Bulova Wilton a lot lately and I do really like the roman numerals as well. Power reserve on the GP is a sweet touch.
