I like Kevin and Teddy together. However, Kevin’s constant interruptions and cutting off Teddy while he is speaking is very disrespectful and classless.
He uses his "fame" to swoop in to buy a hot model at retail, but is NOT a market maker for any brand nor watch. Plus he loves to remind us that we cannot get the same pieces he has access to at the AD's.
A rich man can often create his own specialty by owning many things for the reasons only he designates as worthy. A round about way of saying, a collector knows what he collects and why he collects them. But he doesn't know everything about them.
I love watching the two of you just hanging out and talking watches. It's also fun to see how a guy like Kevin is so open to information from someone he respects, i.e. Teddy.
For Teddy’s sake, I hope his partnerships with Kevin are purely contractual. The guy’s brand is toxic, and, if anything, Teddy is helping Kevin wash his image more than Kevin is driving sustainable viewership to Teddy’s channel.
At 13:30 Kevin remarks that the Armin Strom dial within a dial style is" F.P. Journeness". My first thought it reminded me of watchmakers in Glashutte Germany and their design cues. Namely, A. Lange & Sohne and Glashutte Original. Which is not surprising since Armin Strom manufactures in the German speaking region of Switzerland near the German border.
it's got to be bad manners right? thinks what he has to say is more important than anyone else. but it's just so much worse in this context, when he's a GUEST on Teddy's channel. the worst.
I just take it as in his mind “I was invited to be me, so I am going to be me” may not be someone I’d have a drink with but he is wildly successful for a reason
@@dieseIboy I believe what we are seeing is more of an ego thing than just bad manners. Although I wasn't too bothered by Kevin, after a few videos I got used to it and these duo videos are beneficial to both Teddy and Kevin so it's a win win.
Listened to Mr. O'Leary speak in person at GBTA Convention in San Diego (2018). In my opinion his keynote did not offer anything new or insightful for the travel industry. He did wear a red watch strap though. Told the story of the ABC producer suggesting the red watch strap and decided to make it his trademark. That was the takeaway.
Yeah he’s a pain in the ass. I know and endure people like this, who just constantly interrupt and usually not even on topic, they just ask a question or change the topic completely because they’re not listening. I think it’s insecurity with ‘Mr Wonderful’ here, because he tends to interrupt with a subject change whenever Teddy is explaining something that he doesn’t know enough to weigh in on. Like how the Armin Strom works.
This is brilliant, beginning to end. And Kevin catches a fair amount of negativity from various factions of the watch community, but you just can’t deny his passion for the craft. I personally think that makes him an ideal ambassador for both the art and discipline of collecting. My 2 cents.
From what I see his “passion” is to impress others with his new catch. He says that openly that watch is good when people get crazy when they see it on his hand. Poser mode
I am sorry, but Kevin doesn’t know anything about watches. This is why I like these videos - Teddy knows watches - Kevin is the funny element - the funniest thing about it, he’s not aware about it
I don’t understand these comments, the entire point of the video is to showcase watches that the viewers, and Kevin, don’t know. How is he expected to know about watches which were specifically chosen by teddy as watches he wouldn’t have known? The comments here really just seem so needlessly rude whenever Kevin’s on the channel. It’s just playful banter between two friends, there’s really no need for insults.
Having seen quite a bit of content with Kevin and watches I have to disagree. Of course he does not know as much AS guys like Teddy, but he is far from being clueless. For all the flak people give him, and rightfully so, he is incredibly tacky after all plus what kind of name is mr. wonderful, but he is an avid collector and truly in love with the craft. Which has lead him to learn quite a bit and it shows. I will also readily admit, that I know FP journe only from his video with teddy where he presents that brand to him and I thank him for it.
This may be the last Teddy/Kevin video I watch. I’m interested in what Teddy is saying about the watches and Kevin keeps making it all about him. Interrupts constantly. Changes the train of thought and Teddy doesn’t return to the details he was sharing. Kevin is just outright rude.
To be fair, Teddy is basically holding a lecture and barely asks Kevin any questions or tries to include him in the conversation. If he didn't want Kevin's input, he shouldn't have asked him to join. I too find it annoying when Kevin interrupts Teddy while he's sharing information, but maybe Teddy should plan it better and engage more with Kevin instead of just talking and talking and talking and only letting Kevin speak when he interrups. Teddy hardly even seems to care about what Kevin says - he just wants to continue his monologue.
Great video. Love the focus on these less well known micro brands. Learnt a lot Armin Strom look like a brand to watch (excuse the pun!) Will now look out for and look forward to seeing their range next week in Geneva at W&W, as well as Speake Marin (their new ice blue dial release on the ripple looks stunning)
@@larryhenman9258 Yes! First time really looking forward to. My wife and I arrive in Geneva Friday morning and are going on Saturday, as part of the public admission. Although I have a small RU-vid channel / instagram, I’m a hobbyist/ enthusiast not a professional :-). I learn a lot from Teddy, and love these co-labs with Kevin.
Kevin is really good at the say-the-thing-you-just-said-back-to-you-so-I-seem-smart, thing. Constantly has to talk, frequently has nothing real to add.
he's almost unbearable to listen to in these sit down videos. it's not quite as bad when teddy does the watch buy off, when both need to buy watches in a certain price range.
If Kevin was made out of chocolate he’d eat himself. Then he’d shed a little tear, because he’d eaten himself and there was no more of him to share with The World, which in his opinion would be a huge tragedy for The World. Mr Wonderful my arse.
@@Megatraum504 The ‘chocolate/eat himself’ bit is a common phrase (here in uk at least). The rest is my own cynical twistedness 😅. The bloke rubs me up the wrong way!. Teddy,on the other hand has impeccable manners & makes fantastic content.
@@patrickhannon8126 i totally agree and i figured it was some sort of phrase to start with lol. Shit is so accurate and funny tho. I used to just laugh kevin off and not take him any bit seriously before he had a part in scamming people. Now i just get disappointed to see him back with teddy again.
Really great material and introdution to the brands I was not aware of. I obsevere the channel for a while and I see how much it changed and developed. Great job. Teddy: super competent and making "to the point" commentaries. It is balanced by Kevin O'Leary who is more of a loaded guy wishing to splash on new watches. It was fun to see that duo at the start but now I am a bit tired with the Kevin's show of the wealth. Who is saying "I am the first perosn in the world to buy 4 F.P. Journe just to enter their society" ;) Sorry this is at the level of nouveau riche obnoxiousness..
I picked up the same vibe. Kevin is constantly reminding us that he is far superior a watch collector because he can get his hands on any piece anytime he wants to, and we cannot.
@@dannysimenauer5745 It’s not only that. Each time he talks about watch it’s like: “People are crazy when they see that watch” Means he is into that hobby for show off or what? It makes really strong poser impression
Gday teddy. Tuning into your uploads from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺. Your videos have really helped me learn a lot about watches and has turned me into a watch lover. Thanks heaps for all your awesome info and i am enjoying diving into the world of watches. I am looking at a seiko or a bulova as my first entry level watch. Around the $650 range. Thanks again man. 🤘
Fantastic episode! Very insightful. Appreciated the closing comments (paraphrased): It's not about the price its about the dial. Would love to see more like this!
I don't think Teddy should associate with Kevin anymore since Kevin's questionable actions regarding FTX will hurt Teddy's brand in the long run, if he keeps inviting Kevin to his platform. Also, Kevin is at times rude and obnoxious interrupting Teddy, saying things of no value.
I really enjoy this format. I am always interested in what Mr. Wonderful has to say, because he actually experiences these type of “out there” watches. You guys work well off of each other. I was pleasantly surprised with the pick at the end, and what he was saying about sometimes you just want “the fresh breeze” of a well built watch. That is someone who knows. Love these videos!
Another thoroughly interesting session with Kevin, I love the way you work together and bounce of one another. Such passion but from slightly different angles combines to make engrossing content. It is also great to see such rare brands and pieces, some of which are new to me and out all of my league, but love being able to see the 'art' the these incredibly talented people produce. Thank you Teddy.
Teddy this was a great session man!! Love all these watches sir!! Id love to have any one of them! Well done sir! Kevin is awesome as well. I could listen to you guys talk about watches all day!
I’m new to this watch scene and I’m wondering your thoughts on Rotary. Looks like they have some significant heritage but no one is talking about them and their prices seem too good to be true? Thoughts on Rotary?
I don’t like KOL anymore. He took no accountability for his FTX sponsorship and backpedaled on his “i hate crypto” to suddenly loving it. No integrity (edit…I have never owned Crypto)
I don't feel like he adds anything of substance to Terry's videos. He's just a prop that at one time might have been useful but Terry stands on his own at this point and needs to cut KOL loose
A very inspiring video, just a small correction - Biel is one of the rare Swiss bilingual town - Bienne in French. All it’s inhabitants speaks both languages French and German
