I think the side panels are a must I want trashed out my older evoke with sticks just brushing by a tree and did all kinds of damage but now with panels not so much
I agree that iFlight is trying too much to be like DJI, especially with the Defender series where users will be locked into the Defender ecosystem for parts. The quads are built very well as you say; I love my Evoque F6X from day one until today but working on it isn't the easiest (though still easier than working in really compact spaces like 3.5" and below cinewhoops of course). I also have the Mach R5 which is a blast to fly. All in all, I do love the quads from iFlight still. I don't have issues with the electronics, still running 20mm Blitz Mini stack on the F6X and 25mm Beast F7 AIO on the Mach R5 which I think are great pieces of electronic kits as compared to others (I have GEPRC's F722 AIOs in my Cinebot30 and CineLog35 which are great AIOs too in my books, Diatone's Mamba F7 stack in my EDF jet which is good, as well Flywoo's Reaper F7 AIO which works well in my Think P16 but somehow burnt 3 GPS units that was wired to it for some reason).
Yes. The defender series is more prove of what I’m trying to say in this video. Changes that are not really good to anyone. They are not improving things, they are trying to catch users with looks and keep them very close to their eco-system, which I find it opposite to what this hobby means to me.
If you're new and want to get into the hobby easy with a BNF, Iflight drones are great. Sooner or later you will start to build exactly what you like. The Iflight drones are pretty heavy with all that plastic. Unfortunatly I had to change a few frames just to fit the o3 and have props out of view. The apex5 DC is awesome.
Terrible frame mate has one every crash arms break little cartwheel across grass turns them into a squid. Iflight are shite all their gear is crap. Do yourself a favour stay clear of all their gear
