Fam this is my thoughts exactly!! A car is such a big expense hence why I haven't even got my licence yet. I hear mandem saying "yo, how you going to take a girl out with no car fam" or "how you going to get a girl with no car". It's got to a stage where I don't care and I'll get one when I wanna settle down and actually need one etc but alhamdulillah my legs and public transport gets me to where I need to go and been blessed with good friends and famo who don't mind going places with me.

Not having a car and not having a license are 2 different things. Getting your license early means cheaper insurance in the long run. Don't worry about what your friends say get your license then buy a car when it fits your needs.

I agree with the cost being the biggest issues. Having a car on HP has it advantages as it gets rid of depreciation. If you're paying 200/300 a month and you're working a role that pays you that much a day then I believe its not too much of an issue. If you're young then its better to get a banger and run it till it runs to the ground that way you save and you get your NCD. Personally I didn't get a car till 25 then when i did I got something relatively decent and payed upfront. I agree with working into your local town is better. Graduates always want that big city job up until they have to wake up at 6.30 to get to their 9AM shift whereas if they lived locally they'd be able to wake up at 8 and still have time for breakfast.

I live in Canada and cars are also expensive here. Unfortunately, I need a vehicle for work (HVACR) and to start up my own business.

I have not owned a car in over three years been bicycle commuting everything is within a ten mile radius I save around $850 a month not owning a car as far as girls go I know a lot of girls that bicycle commute
