I have been shooting Canon for years, and when I was ready I considered jumping brands to Sony. The only thing that kept me from it, was the thought of buying all new gear. So I decided to buy the new R5, and I am happy with my purchase. The other nice thing is when my wife and I shoot together, we can carry half the gear bc we can share lenses. Great video bud. Alex has a really good point about buying used if you would like to upgrade your gear. There is a lot of great equipment out there.

I still use a Canon 5DMII and I love it! You can get amazing shots with the right lenses and as always the photographer is the reason for a good photo not a camera :D

I got myself an eos r last month. I’m so happy I got it. Always been with canon from a 700d in the beginning to the original 7d to a 5d mk iii. Than I got a Sony 6500 and I hated every single thing about it. Didn’t like the handling, the Menüs were horrible and I didn’t like the zoom and focus on the 18-1ß5 f4. Switched back to noe the eos r and I’m so happy. Its everything in a camera I ever wanted and for me the usability is tremendous. Sony might be amazing for other people but for me Canon is the way to go. From using it with thicc gloves, in the cold, to all the amazing l lenses for ef and rf mount. Glad we live in a time where there are so many amazing options

I’m a new amateur photographer. I started with my Nikon z50, I’ll be going to the Sony a7-iv . I feel like it’s a great camera to grow with. Solid MP, great ecosystem, great low light performance, etc. My #2 choice was going to Fujifilm with their x-t4.

I used Nikon cameras for 30 years. Switched to Sony in 2017 when I was in NZ shooting in low light and my Nikon D800 couldn't focus. Trey Ratcliff showed me what he was seeing with his Sony and I was blown away. I am also moving away from f/2.8 lenses to more f/4 gear to reduce the weight in my bag. Recent ISO improvements helped to make that an easy decision.

After using my Rebel T5i for six years I treated myself to the EOS R6 last year and it was one of the best decisions I've made. I've since added the RF 70-200 2.8 and two other RF lenses. It seems like such a solid system to invest in but I have no intentions of getting into video, only photography

Dumped my broken 70D for a used 6D when the 6Dii was already out and i dont regret ist. The 6D lives in my bag with a 35mm f2, a 16-35f4 and a 50mm. Thanks for your Videos and all the Inspiration you are giving to us Pierre.

I have just started out and on a budget right now. Shooting with Nikon D5300 + 50mm 1.8 and 18-140mm. Really I must when you learn to shoot with these cameras and the hardships you have to face, you can start to appreciate the upgrade when you make it.

I actually picked up a lightly used 5D4 as an upgrade from my M50m2 last month and I'm over the moon about it. It's so much camera, built like a tank, takes amazing photos, battery life rocks, and best of all it was affordable to a hobbyist like me. I'm also not complaining that the price of L glass keeps dropping!

@@King-zo4vv I enjoy shooting with it and the photos I get are super crisp with the sigma 16mm. You can't go wrong with either body, just make sure you get good lenses!

@@King-zo4vv I recommend any of the Sigma trio (16mm, 30mm, 56mm) for general photography. For vlogging you’d probably want something wider like the Sony 10-18mm. As far as getting a used camera, for me it depends my budget. The a6400 is a great and affordable option even new, but if I wanted to go full frame first I probably would have been looking for something used.

Speaking as an amateur photographer and not as a professional I am very happy with my Panasonic G9. The mft system is not as terrible as many people say and for those who have no business needs it is a good compromise between quality and price.

Pierre, like the ride! I started with a Nikon F3 in 1980 and have stayed Nikon since except for a short Canon run in the 90's (F3 was stolen). After being out of it for the last 5-6 years, I decided to get back into it and went with the Nikon Z6ii mirrorless. I love it! The decision was based on knowledge and experience with Nikon, the lighter weight (getting older) and still getting FF, the reputation of the new Z lenses as excellent (especially the S line), and the price of $1900 for the body was right in my range. I use mostly for photos. My friend who has same camera is the opposite and loves it for all his video and says the firmware upgrade with focus tracking is incredible. There you go!

I started on Nikon. Still love their color science the most. When mirrorless started getting more popular and it became clear it was the future I held out for as long as I could. Nikon just wasn't really getting into the mirrorless game in a wholehearted way. So I switched to Sony. I really considered Canon but Sony just seemed a little more comfortable to me. Honestly had Nikon released the Z9 3 years earlier, I'd probably still be shooting Nikon. I don't think you really go wrong with one of the big 3 over another now.

My daughter wanted to get into photography, so we got her a Canon sl1 to see if she'd enjoy it. It's been a couple of years and she never uses is, so I'm picking it up and going to be starting my own photography based channel with it. We'll see how it goes. I think I'm mostly going to do guerilla street, and perhaps street portrait photography in the Gainesville Fl. area. We only have two kit lenses with it, but I'm looking into a 35mm and 50mm prime lenses for it.

I own Nikon, Sony and Fuji. And surprisingly enough recently I've been taking out a D3S most of the time. Just a workhorse body. It's enjoyable. For all the travel stuff I use a Fuji X-T2. Sure never gear is out ,but this really isn't letting me down. So no need to replace it. I totally second the idea of buying higher end gear others are dumping. You can score incredible bargains and these days, being a gen or 2 behind really isn't much of a limitation at all.

I'm semi-pro and I shoot with a Fujifilm X-S10. I have the 23, 35, 56, and 84mm primes plus the 16-55 kit zoom, the new 70-300, the 100-400, and some assorted macro lenses.

I went with Sony because I liked the idea of the a7C to start off with. Having the full frame look in such a small body for me seemed really appealing because I can use it for content creation and take it on the go without having to carry a heavy body. I've paired it with a few light fast primes(Sony 85 1.8 and Zeiss 35mm 2.8). I'm looking to grab a 14mm or 20mm later down the line

@@KevinHPhotography Love them both, minus the AF is not on Sony and Canon’s level. The X-T4 has IBIS, a fully articulating screen and the second card slot can be used to backup video, also it will do 4K 60.. I shake more then I wish and I have noticed the IBIS has definitely helped me get sharper images when using primes with no stabilization.. I hope that helps, cheers... :)

I had a budget of 2000 Euro for a camera and I chose the Panasonic Lumix S5. It is the best solution for my needs and budget. It obviously great for video but very good for photos and it is Full Frame. In addition the lenses are not super expensive. One major drawback is that the Auto Focus is not Sony and Canon level but it is OK for my specific needs. It is whether sealed but not 100% but I will not shoot in the dessert or the rainforest or the ice caps. My advice is define your needs (not wants, needs), look at different reviews, think 5 years in the future and look at the lense prices. If you can wait a bit, wait for sales. And as Pierre said, try to max you camera and upgrade if you have a NEED or you will EARN MORE MONEY with the more expensive camera.

Shoot with Sony alpha 6000 , asp-c but doesn’t have the limitations you might think, great camera for manual photography and very portable. I shoot canon as my back up camera, for my a6000 I use a 100-600 tele zoom, a 16mm prime and 55-210 wide angle

Shooting Fuji for the colors!.. My story goes like this… Tried X-T4 but wasn’t happy with autofocus, especially in F-Log. Sold that. Then tried Sony a7III but wasn’t impressed with autofocus either and the colors required work. If I had the budget I would have tried a7SIII. Was thinking of a7C but IBIS wasn’t great, old menus, not happy with dynamic range and Sony 8bit wasn’t as robust as Fugi 8bit. So figured I’d give Fuji another go and picked up the new X-S10. Let’s just say Fuji nailed the form factor. Great color. Great dynamic range. Image quality on par with X-T4. Autofocus seems better. Only wish it had weather sealing, big battery, and a better LCD. Otherwise absolutely happy with X-S10 for my needs.

Canon User since 2008, 1 month Sony Alpha user... back to 5D serie...and still on. But for daily use i will add a little Fuji, X-T4 is pretty cool in hands. The most important thing is to feel good with your equipment, the race for equipment should be the number 1 error pointed out by photographers' list of errors.

My very first camera was nikon coolpix b500, it got me in to photography. my second camera is, (i still use it to this day) is a canon 90d i'm happy with it, great beginner camera with awesome features

I'm an enthusiastic that loves taking pics of my kids. Had a 6D, loved full frame. But focus system is not great. Missed so many shots bc it missed eye focus. Have the R6 now. Using an adaptor for my sigma 35mm. Have the Samyang 85mm RF. Easily my fav lens. The bokeh is amazing. Focus is great.

Before I had a Canon C100 MkII and a Sony A7III, I loved both cameras but I choosed to go with Canon. So I sold my A7III and got a Canon R6. And man, I promise you, it's one of the best decision I made. I'm in love with the R6!! For me it's the perfect hybrid camera. And I never had an overheating warning, even in 4k 50p (I shoot Weddings, events, commercials, music videos). I'm saving right now for a 3rd body, but I still don't know what I will choose. Either a Canon C70, the Bmpcc 6k pro or the Canon R5C (that will come later this year).

I started around 12 years ago on Canon 550D with only one lens 24-105. The whole intention was to capture memories from to-be family trips. It quickly became a serious interest, especially for travel and that brought me to Sony A7RII about 3 years later and eventually the current Sony A7RIII for some of the necessaries such as much improved battery life. I expanded on my lens but don’t think I be looking to upgrade on the body anytime soon as the one in my possession now suits my needs for the way I shoot.

Really dont get the switch to lumix if you want quality video if you're a canon user with all that glass. The best system to go alongside your photography camera for video would be the BMPCC.

I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark IV, but I still use my lower rebel models for more extreme conditions or for small projects sometimes. I use my xTi (yes really old) for some timelapse projects.

I'm still shooting with my Xaomi Poco F1, coz can't afford any camera being a student...but still making gorgeous pictures with it🔥

I use a canon eos r6 but its not important what you are using just love what you do and it will be perfect

My 1st camera was Sony H2 super zoomer. The switches were located pretty much at same places as in Sony DSLRs so it was obvious choice to go with Sony A300. After couple years I upgraded to A77ii. Nice small feature is that I can use my Sony mobile as a remote controller.

Where shooting with Nikon for years, then got a lighter secondary set from Olympus for when I didn’t want to go around with that massive camera, and then I transition to shoot only with Sony, I don’t see myself changing system again as I can get everything I possibly could need in that system and still have a smaller, lighter set up.

I was always doing a basic photography and I always wanted to be a professional photographer. My first DSLR camera was Canon Rebel T3i for like 8, maybe 9 years but I wasn't much active. Also I was thinking like I will never be good at it, nobody will care about my work and so on. And then me and my friends created a music label and we started making music and music videos. We shot few of them on that Rebel T3i, few just on a mobile phone, but then it wasn't enough. So I thought maybe this is the time I will have to finally fulfill my dreams and start doing photography and videos more seriously. So I jumped directly to Sony A7 III, which is the camera I wanted for a long time. And I'm sure I will never regret it. Nobody still cares but I'm doing what I like to do and I believe that it will change soon. That's my short story. I would like to do a street photography but I have to break the barrier in my head that everybody will be staring at me and nobody will want to be photographed and so on, so l'd like to thank you for your videos, bcs it's inspiring and motivational for me and for many others, I believe. Few more days and trips around Prague and I will hopefully be able to take pictures everywhere I would like to. BIG THANKS!

I have a canon 4000d, its old, its bad, but its everything i can afford, honestly thinking about switching to fuji because of the great colors, but then there is thr lense problems, honestly sony or lumix seem like the best choice, when i get money offcourse

I rock with T7 I just got it for the hobby bur ended up getting better lenses specifically for EF so I decided to stick with it for the next few years

I started with point and shoot Sony and Nikon cameras, ending with the Nikon P1000. That was a great point and shoot camera, which led me into astrophotography. You can get amazing detail shots and the brighter nebulae, moon, Saturn and Jupiter. But then I wanted more. I wanted more flexibility and variety in what I shot. That's when I got into interchangeable lens cameras. I picked up a Sony A73 and a adapted old Minolta and Pentax lenses. The older lenses give such unique characteristics to the photos. Recently I've upgraded my Sony body and have gotten into the modern lenses and bird photography.
