This is my favorite episode so far. I think you are doing a great service for your country by making your videos. You are a wonderful ambassador and representative of your country and we English-speakers are forever indebted to you. And I wouldn't worry about what anyone thinks or says. Just make the videos that you want to make on the subjects of your choosing and don't be afraid to speak your mind. It's what makes your channel unique.

Absolutely makes sense. As a Vietnamese myself but born and living in another country, my Vietnamese is kind of "rusty" and I'd have had a difficult time understanding you if you talked in Vietnamese. So you talking in English doesn't only give the "non-Vietnamese-speaking" people the opportunity to learn more about Vietnam but also people like me. I don't get why you got all those comments but I'm always thankful for RU-vidrs showing their country or country of choice in English and thus sharing their passion with a much wider audience. In the end, those speaking the language fluently probably know most of the country already and even if not, I'm sure there are many RU-vidrs speaking Vietnamese (in this case) as well. Keep up the great work!

Mình lại càng muốn bạn nói tiếng Anh trên kênh của bạn hơn, chỉ cần có phụ đề tiếng Việt là được rồi. Bạn có lợi thế là nói tiếng Anh rất xịn sò, hiểu văn hóa Việt và ... xinh nữa :D Nhìn lại các kênh RU-vid ở VN hiện nay, rất ít kênh quảng bá về văn hóa, ẩm thực và cảnh đẹp của VN bằng tiếng Anh 1 cách trôi chảy như kênh của bạn. Fellow Vietnamese here. Fully support your decision to use English only in your channel. You can reach a much wider audience that way. Plenty of youtubers from Japan, Hong Kong, etc also use English exclusively.

My wife and I have been traveling to Vietnam for many years now! In 2019 we went stay 6 months and got stuck for a year and a half because of the pandemic. It was wonderful before the longest stay was 6 months. After our last stay we decided to sell everything and move to Vietnam! We have a house being built in Hoi An and will be ready for xmas. The only thing holding us up is the travel restrictions. We have been living in our motorhome since August the 6th,it's now December the 21 and we're still waiting. We are dying to get back home to Vietnam! I love your videos, but I they make me homesick for Vietnam! Keep up the great videos and we'll be watching!

I was wrongly accused of the same thing for not using my Vietnamese for years so I understand. My Vietnamese are at 80% now which is great. We cannot lose our native root. Thanks for promoting it.

Thanks for posting this. 3 years ago i took mt first solo trip to VN, in opposition of my parents. They had so many worries from when the last left the country. I spent a month backpacking từ miền bắc tới nam and i absolutely loved it. It put me on a path to relearn the language and now I’m proud to say I’m quite conversationally fluent. I actually plan on returning to explore for a longer period of time (possibly move) once things get better. Hope to meet you!

There's already thousands of RU-vidr speaking in Vietnamese promoting Vietnam. It's great she speaks in English. I left Vietnam when I was young, forgot most of the language but never forgot Vietnam. I want to know more about my culture but can't understand vietnamese RU-vidr. Do more countryside life. I love those.

My wife is Vietnamese and I'm an immigrant to the USA. People not returning to their country of birth is very common. Most people assimilate into the new culture, especially here in the USA with so many cultures. My wife was one of the boat people, so she has been in the USA for over thirty years. The last time we visited Vietnam, maybe 4 years she told me she was no longer Vietnamese, she lost the culture. The BEST thing about your vids is that they connect people. Thank You.

Chú luôn ủng hộ cháu làm nội dung quảng bá những giá trị Việt cho cộng đồng quốc tế. Có rất nhiều điều người nước người muốn biết về Việt Nam qua nhãn quan của một người Việt gốc mà họ chưa có cơ hội. Cháu là cơ hội của họ đấy. Chú rất chờ đợi những nội dung về bảo vệ môi trường sống như dọn rác, giảm tiếng ồn (còi xe?); đối xử văn minh với động vật... Sẽ có những bình luận trái chiều, cháu đừng ngại, và hãy coi đó là những thực tế giúp mình trưởng thành hơn.

Dạ vâng ạ, cháu cảm ơn chú rất nhiều ạ! Trước khi làm youtube cháu cũng đã lăn tăn về những vấn đề xã hội có thể là những đề tài gây nhiều tranh cãi. chắc gì trong 100% đa số là người nước ngoài có khi % đều là người Việt hoặc Việt kều xem thì sao đâu có chọn lọc được nguồn người xem hay nta cần xem đến nội dung bạn làm??? nội dung chủ đề này tìm trên youtobe thì ko thiếu họ là người nước ngoài mà để cả sub việt, anh, hàn,...

@@Ducanhreview_ kênh của người ta làm chủ có nghĩa là người ta có quyền quyết định ngôn ngữ nào được dùng trong kênh của họ. Nếu bạn ko thích, bạn có quyền ko vô đây xem. Vn bây giờ thay đổi rất nhiều về mọi mặt kể cả khả năng tiếng Anh của các bạn trẻ trong nước và đó là điều đáng mừng cho xã hội Vn. Chúng ta nên khuyến khích người dân Vn biết nhiều tiếng nước ngoài càng tốt và không tỏ ra là xã hội lạc hậu bắt buộc mọi người chỉ biết tiếng Việt.

I understand completely what you mean about losing a language if you don't use it. My wife is from Argentina,and obviously her first language is Spanish. She has lived in the US, speaking English, and married to me, a lazy American (I do speak German). We were in Chile a few years ago and she completely forgot the Spanish word for something she wanted to order. This has happened a few times over the years so I understand. I enjoy your channel and all of the Vietnamese culture you bring.

Không chỉ có người nước ngoài mới hỏi "Việt Nam có điện không." Mình qua Mỹ, đi làm thêm. Bà chủ là người Việt, quê ở Sài Gòn, hỏi mình quê ở đâu. Mình kêu, "à dạ Trà Vinh." Mình biết nhiều người không biết tỉnh TV ở đâu, nên mình bồi thêm "Miền Tây sông nước". Rồi, bà chủ kiểu "à, chổ đó có điện chưa???" ừ, mình qua Mỹ năm 2016 và vẫn bị chính người Việt hỏi mình câu đấy.

I came to the US about your age and even though I’m still fluent in Vietnamese, I still prefer to speak English because I’m so used to the language. But that doesn’t take away the fact that I still eat rice and fish sauce haha. You are absolutely right about speaking in English because you can reach to more audiences to promote Vietnam culture. People who are shocked about Vietnam and others countries not being modernize are mainly in the central plain is the US. They also have never seen a body of water (oceans) therefore they’ll asked and comment in a manner that have.

You're so wholesome and refreshing! It was about time I find a Vietnam born and international student that studied abroad in a western country AND learnt English. Theres not many Vietnamese born in Vietnam that also went to university outside of East Asia and into Western english speaking countries. I'm a Vietnamese British-born university student and it was so nice to hear and see that you were a Vietnamese International University Student in United States/Western country. Because, I find it extremely rare to find or know any Vietnamese student that has been to or is currently attending an International western country university to study. It's heart-warming to know people back home in Vietnam and Vietnam in general - are progressing well internationally too and students are going abroad to study. I hope in the future, there are more Vietnamese international students studying abroad, share more about our culture. You're too funny Van, Keep up the good work, Van! Mạnh! ... 3:03 favourite part.
