I've not watched the full vid yet, but i'm glad i'm not the only one thinking that Here's my arguments: -hog mirrors are boring asf -when hog's meta the game isn't fun and hog isn't fun -low skill floor characters like hog shouldn't be meta, he needs to be in a state where you know how to play him a bit to make him work -if everyone goes hog everyone goes hog counters and it's not fun either -hog will get nerfed to the ground and will become unplayable for the next year
hog mirrors pre rework were actually fun because you really could punish someone when landing a hook but now landing a hook on the other hog just dosent feel rewarding in anyway
You started talking about your supports needing a raise and then this Kiriko just headshot after your hook and timed a Mei leaving ice block. Yeah they do
He's basically saying that if Hog is really strong then he dunks on all the other tanks making it just Hog 1v1s + Ana Mei, if Hog is good but not broken then there's other comps to play.
All of these replies are wrong, he's stated multiple times that Hog meta sucks. Not because Hog vs Hog but because it comes down to support vs support. The Hog running Ana/Kiri will beat the Hog running Brig/Lifeweaver. And, unfortunately, you can't choose your supports.
ye a hog meta would be horrible but i also think that hog shouldnt be a punching bag every time he tries to go for a hook like you ever just go for a hook and theres like 5 people shooting at you with abilities its pretty annoying
Well yes, that's what the buffs were for, but having armor and no armor is like day and night on tanks. Majority of players are no were near ask skilled as cyx to make it look so op.@owPhreak

I've been, anti'd slept, hacked, hindered, knocked down and pinned all at once. Lotsa fun. Especially when you have a kiri who doesn't know how or when to suzu. IF you even have a kiri at all.
hog is actually insanely fun to play, i have around 9 hours on him and just imitating what cyx is doing. but sometimes i dont know why we still lose even tho i hit lots of my hooks, anyone a hog pro or maybe if cyx does replay review, thatd be nice
@@hbshadow8981 yea, theres also multiple games where other tank went hog counters, zarya, sigma, dva and worst of them all, mauga but even so, i still do better due to watching cyx but still lost, dont know how he does it where he still pulls a win
Yeah Hog is like a Dark Souls boss now. Old hog felt like a stoppable character that was fun, skillful, and rewarded good players who hit their shots and hooks.
There’s probably never gonna be a Hog Meta because of how many debuffs are in the game and the fact that he has no shield. He’s just a damage soaker and has to use an ability that takes 2-3 seconds to get back to enough health not to stress.
As a hog main, I really don’t want a hog meta. It results in EVERY match feeling the exact same. I play hog, and after the enemies lose ONE fight half of them swap to hog counters if they’re not already playing one. Almost every match results in me playing against Orisa/Mauga, Reaper, Bastion, Ana, and Zen. It gets really boring really fast
oh well, anyone can play hog now and role/climb. Specially in lower ranks where focus fire is non existent, hog just walks around and kill everyone, without every being punished. I'm master and my lil bro plays at plat. Games have become so miserable for him with hog infestation that he stopped playing 2 days after HS dmg nerf.
Sorta yeah, he's a consistent pick and has self healing with Dr so it makes the supports job easier, can hook people out of position and secure kills on targets really well, plus his ult is a tank shredder so he just has all the tools he needs to be good
Ever since the 20% passive + new tank changes it's been a hog meta, I'd say I see an enemy Hog in 3/4 of ranked matches. There's some tanks that I legit almost never see, Rein, Ram, JQ, D.va because hog just craps on them.
Hog is actually good at what tanks are supposed to be good at, tanking and people have a problem with that? He is one of the most counterable tanks in the game and the biggest target. I think hog is good not op.
Realistically people just don't like being kidnapped from max range when a hog does a jump peek and puts you behind a wall. I know I don't whenever I play tank even when im aware he has hook. Because dodging it isnt as easy as it can be half the time. That shit comes out really fast for a projectile skill shot. And it gets more annoying the higher you climb with hogs faking on who they look at etc.
He has a 60% win rate across the board and is insanely easy to get value on. He is definitely one of the least counter-able tanks in the game because of breather
I still dont understand how it became a hog meta. the hero is pretty easy to outplay it's just that players dont want to humble down and stop ego peeking a character that wants you to you ego peek or challenge him unprepared. it's like playing against a widow but his hook shot is 6 seconds vs her 1.4 seconds (also across the map) tanks at the moment are just worse again. like they are now harder to kill so hog is harder to kill which means you need to dump more resources into them which sucks for both parties, the hog/tank and both teams. it's just unfun.
I think devs should try to introduce max "counter-swap limit picks" for game (maybe 1 or max 2). It results annoying play like this in the majority of time. Please like this comment to support this idea
