Pre-Scriptum: send this video to someone you would like to fall into SKZ, if they are still contemplating about doing so :)
re-upload as a way to run from copyright things
This video also was made in CapCut (rip my eyes, brain and phone memory). I worked on it for two days when I was hella depressive. Ave bipolar depression.
This might be my last video on kpop, after it I'll probably continue with topics of psychological health. You can subscribe or unsubscribe after this information, it doesn't matter to me that much.
This video is really sloppy and narrows your attention on things that are not always seen by the public eye. Also I purposefully (or just forgot about it) hadn't included here memes and meme culture of this group, even though it shows a lot.
All your constructive comments are appreciated, though I might close the comments because of my social anxiety or just end paying attention to them in one moment (which is less probable because of, um, anxiety). Anyway I'm extremely grateful to all lovely commenters who have written something on the previous video! STAYs gave me understanding that becoming a part of fandom might be a wise idea and ARMYs encouraged me to make this video basically! So thank y'all!

I think Bang Chan is the best leader in K-Pop history. Not even taking into account that he chose each member personally, produces all their music, made their logo etc.. he treats every member like his own child but somehow he's also their older brother, confidant, friend, teacher, and protector. He's able to fill so many roles all into one. Not only that but he leads them in everything they do and has their utmost respect but also leaves his walls down so the members are comfortable and playful with him. Chan was born to be a leader and Stray Kids runs through his blood. He would take a bullet for his members, he would die for them. That level of love and dedication is the true mark of a great leader. He's simply amazing.

For me, the appeal is really that they don’t act like celebrities. Their dynamic is hilarious and the fact they all mostly speak English and have a culturally closer to mine outlook is interesting. Don’t get me wrong, their culture is present in what they do, and that’s fine, they’re a KPop group, but they come across as very relatable to me. Chan the long suffering parent, Minho the cat parent, Seungmin the savage friend and Hyunjin’s dramatic personality, Felix the buddy you can exchange recipes with… Very down to earth. Feels like you could actually meet them anywhere, and sit down to chat and eat with, like old school cronies. Oh, and funny. SKZ is comedy gold.

I'm 43 and I can totally relate lol. I've never loved any musician/s as much as I love StrayKids. Prince was my all time favorite musician for many years but then I discovered our boys and they quickly took his place. I never understood how people could cry for an artist or artists at concerts (for ex. The Beatles, Michael Jackson) until I found SKZ. Now I get it lol. I think it's because SKZ put so much of themselves out there that you are able to develop a deeper connection with them and truly feel a sort of real friendship or feel like you're part of their family. I truly care for and worry about them which is strange when I've never even met them lol. But yeah, SKZ have a way of making us feel connected which is quite beautiful.

Hey guys! My point on "neurodivergent-friendly music" has been again proven right! I accidentally learned (thank you my STAY bestie again, you are the world to me), that 145+ bpm music can help with ADHD burnout. Quote from the video: "listening to music at 145 bpm can help you get your ADHD spark back after burnout. The reason why this works is because high tempo music specifically interacts with your prefrontal cortex. This alters your executive functions and pairs and ambition control and induces faster response time. In other words, fast tempo music helps you get unstuck by bringing your impulsivity back, hitting the restart button on your creative spark". Also in that video I was sent there were listed 20 SKZ tracks (so we have _at least_ twenty tracks) with 145+ bpm, both old and new: for example, The Sound (188), Limbo (162), LoveSTAY (160), Battleground (180), Behind the Light (172), Domino (172), Wolfgang (162), God's Menu (157), Freeze (160), Thunderous (172), Hall of Fame (160), Mixtape: Time Out (160), ITEM (162). Both "spicy" and "pop-py" stylized songs. Soooo… I guess, the jokes that 3RACHA has ADHD are not jokes anymore? Take a bet who has it? Many people agree that it's Chan 😂

I think, for me, Minho has a more of a "aunty/uncle" vibes lol, it's because when he's left alone to take the lead he just let's the other "kids" do what ever they want(like the rich aunty/uncle who gives you everything you want)... I might say that hyunjin has the mom vibe, idk how to explain it but in their lives or contents I always see him caring for the member just like a mom ahhah
@machgirl6385
@machgirl6385 Год назад
Wow, thank you for commenting! Honestly the "mommy" vibe was just my first thought when my bestie just tried to get me into the fandom, and even on the producing step for this video I already had some doubts about it, huhhu. So yeah, rich auntie might be much more fitting! Also it's embarrassing to say, but for the most part I know SKZ, I always forget Hyunjin when I count them or make jokes :") (you should blame my STAY bestie for this, she doesn't send me enough memes with him, lol) Also I agree with both points anyway, just because videos from the recent concerts just scream that Minho is more of "let us do some mischief my kids" side, and as much as I know about Hyunjin, he really does look caring about others nearby. Sadly I'm not too deep into fandom to say for sure :') Anyway thank you for your comment!

@@machgirl6385 It's sad to read that you forget about Hyunjin, cause he is the reason I've become Stray Kids' (and kpop) fan in my thirties. If your friend doesn't provide you with enough informations about our beloved Lovestay Boy, let me give you some info about him: Believe me when I say that his heart is even more beautiful than his visuals (like all of the Kids' hearts to be honest, they all are true angels) but as someone who's been a stay for 3 years already, I've never met anyone like him. The best way to describe him is to say that he's been written by a woman. Hyunjin is an INFP, he's very introverted person. He likes to work on choreography and songs all alone, to spend time alone, mainly on painting or watching sad romantic movies after which he cries a lot, he likes to walk along Seoul streets alone and take pictures of everything around him, his spends most of the time on painting, he has a whole painting studio in the dorm, his room is full of his paintings, dried flowers and candles, he reads and writes poems, he's like a modern bohemian, that came out straight from a romantic book. His heart is full of love for art in every form, especially for dancing, he treats dancing not as just his work but a passion, he has really artistic soul, he can't help but creating art, trough his dancing, choreographing, painting, photographing, composing, writing songs and even making bracelets. But the most impressive part of him is his hard work and perfectionism. He was working so hard to be where he is now, because when he came to the company he had 0 skills. He'd been practicing dancing 18 hours a day, slept 2 hours, went to school and back to practice room to be able to catch up. From 0 skills he worked his way up to the top of kpop dancers in such a short time it's insane. Many times I've seen people comparing him to Taemin, Kai and Jimin because of his incredible skills and charisma. Hyunjin once said: "Bragging about something you didn't work for is so lame" and he lives up to this motto he created for himself. He needed to work crazy hard cause he didn't know how to dance, rap or sing and he's a perfectionist and workoholic. When he gets into sth, he gets into it with his whole soul and heart, turning it into passion. His favourite genre of music is slow, simple piano, emotional songs like Billie or Colde, rock, but also slow sexy r&b and this is the genre of songs he mainly creates (he's made many songs already, but released only 3 😢), he can also compose, the piano chords in "Little Star" and "#Lovestay" are composed by him. I just love everything about him and the most his hopeless romantic, philosophy and artistic soul, the way he pours emotions into everything he does and also the way he enjoys the smallest and the littlest things and can find a small happiness in everything he does, which he often shows in his vlogs. At the end I just want to share with you one of his messages to us: "I bought a book about flowers recently. (...) The reason I like the meanings of flowers is even when I don't like people I remember that someone out there must have given a flower a beautiful meaning. I like these people, that's why my love for humanity doesn't cool down. There are a million reasons why the world is a warm place, so i don't want to be cold just because of a few reasons it's not. If i just find a reason that it's warm and shake off the cold world, don't you think my body will grow used to the warmth and forget about the cold someday? Don't think about your struggles when you walk down the streets and see the same flowers you always do. Just think about how that color of flower has become more beautiful because of the meaning that someone gave to it. If you happen to remember this words again, maybe your footsteps will become a little lighter and maybe the heaviness in your heart will go away a bit. Small but certain happiness might not really seem like a big deal but I hope you get your certain happiness. We live trying our best in everything, may it be for work or road to success, but i don't think we make lots of efforts for our happiness, so i hope you can make an effort to smile. It’s important." Sometimes I wonder if this boy is real... 😢 He seems like he came from a different world, he's so delicate, romantic and full of love 😢 And his passionate stage alter-ego and drama queen mode is completely different part of his amazing personality. He is the type who has "the old soul", he doesn't follow trends, he doesn't care much about the outside world, he hates TikTok and doing agyo and never fails to show it, when he's forced to doing it, he believes in hard work and skills, rather than quick fame, and when he's on stage he is unstoppable and acts like he's been born there, going all out and performing with crazy energy that made him so popular and made him go viral so many times. If you have any questions or need some memes with him, I'll gladly help you to know him better 🥰

i just finished your video and that didn't feel like 42 minutes! you're right about skz having a large fanbase from the 35+ group. i'm 36 myself and discovered stray kids during the pandemic. mind you, i've never been a huge kpop fan. the only group i stan before skz was blackpink and that's it. i'm just a casual listener of kpop and to be honest, i was a little bit embarrassed before that i like a few kpop songs because a lot of people think that kpop is just a fad or a weird obsession. then when the pandemic happened and we were all just at home, i discovered these boys. and quarantine didn't feel like quarantine. i felt like i actually found new friends with them. weird. there's something really special about them. so when everything finally went back to normal i told some of my friends about them. and guess what? i finally saw them in concert a week ago with my friend who became a stay as well. and she's also in her mid thirties. haha. i almost started crying when i saw them up close because it felt like i was finally seeing my chaotic younger brothers. btw, they are all good looking men and they all have a warm aura about them. my 7 year old daughter is also a fan btw and she knows all of their songs because of me. her favorite is bang chan because she told me she could understand him because he speaks english(lol) and he's funny. it just proves that stray kids really has wide appeal. it doesn't really matter who you are. during the con i saw someone as young as 5 years old and an old lady that looks like she's 60ish. and yes! lots of lesbians too. and fanboys!!! there were a lot of them during the concerts. again, thank you for this video! i love these boys so much.

Suddenly a lot of things make way more sense. I'm a huge Engene, I'm very excited to see what happens with Enhypen, almost like a proud auntie, but when I started listening to Stray Kids (after Enhypen dragged me back into k-pop), I got hooked HARD. I felt a little confused by it, I don't think I've ever gone so deep into a fandom so fast, and mind you I'm turning 42 this month. But realizing that there are a LOT of STAY my age and even older makes me feel less confused, especially when you throw in the fact that I'm autistic and have severe ADHD (and severe depression, anxiety, and fibromyalgia) on top of being nonbinary and queer. I am discovering other groups, like TXT, NCT, et cetera -- BTS is a monolith that is a little overwhelming to even begin to dippy-toe into -- and there's so much to try and catch up on since I was last into k-pop, which, mind you, was back when SHINee was new and TVXQ still had five members -- but no matter how much I try to expand my fandoms I keep coming back to SKZ and Enha. I don't even have a singular bias for this group anymore, SKZ is my bias. I love these dorks. ❤

Thank you for making this video, and especially so, thank you for pointing out those things about age demographics (I’m 37) and neurodivergencey. I’m not sure if what you say is true, but I can say that when I listen to Stray Kids music, I always find something interesting to listen to beyond just the lyrics. The songs definitely keep my ASD brain entertained and I enjoy listening to the same song many times in a row with a different mindset/intention every time. I see parts of myself a lot in many of the members. Given that their messages focus so much on self-love, being yourself in an unaccepting society built for ‘normal’ people, and finding out who you are to yourself etc, I have a strong impression that there is a lot of ND representation among the members. I always want to say this, but I get scared of backlash from people who think it’s wrong to think this way, as if it would be a tragedy if it were true. Even if it’s not true, the thought brings me a lot of comfort, and the messages in their lyrics makes me feel understood. The fandom as well is friendly on all accounts and they do an amazing job of making Stays feel like one big family, more than ‘just fans’ (but obviously not in an unrealistic/unreasonable way). I honestly wish I had Stray Kids when I was growing up, because it may have given me the support I didn’t have back then, but I’ll gladly take it now as I settle into adulthood. Anyway, great job! This was well made and expressed my own feelings very well!

Thank you a lot for commenting! Well, can I share some "headcanons" about their possible neurodivergence with you? As I have probably said countless times in video and comments, Seungmin rings a bell of familiarity to me by being the same weird - he's pretty straightforward with speaking his thoughts not thinking twice about the nuances of situation, if it would be "alright/normal" or if behaving like that would be considered odd or strange. Aside from that, as far as I know, he doesn't like skinship that much and is pretty calm - or at least not that loudly emotional compared to the other kids, which also adds to the point of him being not like others. Narrowed emotional range + not liking touching + hardly reading the atmosphere sometimes - these things certainly lead me to some conclusions, because these little things are in diagnostic signs of certain neurodivergences (I don't watch Seungmin that closely to say for sure, but I researched the topic of ND bc I'm neurodivergent myself, so I know what I'm talking about) Overall no matter if he's neuroatypical or not for real, his devotion to his profession is very inspirational. If he can become this cool, maybe I can too? It comforts me to no end. We discussed these things with my friend, and she said that Hyunjin is probably ND too, but I can't say a lot of what kind. Well, if you have some thoughts on them overall, can you share with me? I don't know how about others, but I certainly won't judge you for telling these thoughts! I hope if someone stumbles upon this thread they won't be toxic to you too!

@@machgirl6385 Hi, sorry for not getting back to you quickly! As I said before, I’m hesitant to say names simply because it’s frowned upon to speculate. But in a few words, Changbin, Seungmin, Han, and Lee Know radiate ND energy to me. I think Chan has spoken about ADHD before too. I have looked at Hyunjin, but I also don’t look at him enough to say for sure. For Lee Know, a lot of it has to do with how similar he is to myself. He’s often designated as the ‘weird’ one, whose train of thought is hard to pick up on. He likes skinship, but usually only from people he’s especially close to, and he doesn’t really feel the need to keep more than a few of those. He does have difficulty expressing himself and showing that he cares, so he does this instead by taking care of people and teasing them. His humor is quite deadpan, he doesn’t like being the center of attention, he really dislikes unruly clothes, he’s constantly trying to keep his hair out of his eyes and scratching his eyebrows, and he alternates between being Too Loud and Too Quiet. He’s very all or nothing. Also ambidextrous. Also very dependent on routine. He has had issues with maintaining eye contact, but is very good at hiding it (with excessive, intense staring instead). You already went over Seungmin, and I pretty much agree with you on all points. Changbin was a lot harder for me to notice, but once I started looking more closely, it’s very apparent. He definitely has issues with eye contact and has a wandering gaze. He is very methodical in his approach to lyricism, a very deep thinker, and then out of nowhere appears very childlike. It does seem to take him a second to realize a joke had been made (especially about him) and tends to just go along with the crowd. He also is exceptionally and specifically passionate about health and working out to the point of obsession. I’ve heard other ND people compare themselves to him with glee of seeing a person like him in his position, like what you said about Seungmin. For Han, he really just never settles down, his brain is always working and needing stimulation of some kind, but because of social anxiety, he has limited options of how to expend it. So he stays in bed all day and watches informational youtube videos. He has a lot of trouble remembering things, not just the obvious of his lyrics, but where he puts things, that he needs to clean up his messes, etc, so I do see him as needing a lot of support, which the others give him as much as possible. He really reminds me of one of my best friends in this way, who is also ND. People will say that oh, that’s not so uncommon, lots of people do such and such, but it really is a matter of having a cluster of traits all at once that convinces me. But yeah, even if it’s not true, it brings me comfort to think it is. And it would explain a lot of why their music is so appealing to ND folk, whether it’s deliberate or because it does for them what it does for us. I like to think it’s deliberate, because they rarely do anything in their music by accident. Anyway! Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk!

Thank you for commenting! I think I was unnecessarily toxic back then and also not exactly in a right state of mind when I made these videos, so I hope I learned since then indeed! I even had an emotional breakdown due to the guilt I felt because of my behaviour back then :") (sorry for intimate things slipped) This video came out as a result of my affective phase creative thinking and my depressive focus, so I suppose I just mixed my two positive sides together! Also I have discussed the contents with my STAY bestie who is in fandom for much more time than me and is much deeper in all of that, so I had someone to correct me and add something valuable! I really thought about making video fully textual but then understood that words only would not be so effective, so I searched for some living examples of things I talked about, and if only my phone memory allowed it, I would add some more (unfortunately, I hadn't had any more to experiment with additional details)! Funnily but I omitted the biggest thing that is there about "friendliness" - their, umm, communication? Like yes, there were glimpses of it here and there, but not a point strictly about that, I suppose. Also by some reason I made a part with "stuck together dumplings" too short (just bc I literally searched for these words in my social media communities, and I didn't know enough of them to save enough pictures in a small amount of time, though I could literally… search them up in the internet… and call them dumplings myself in my mind…), even though it should show a lot of their inner chemistry :") Anyway, I think my answer may be a lot random, so sorry for that and thank you again for commenting!

Back then I didn't think about your video all that much and I just saw it as a way of complimenting skz and expressing your point of view (not hating "the other group" in any way) but looking back I do agree this is a much better way to express your feelings and get your points across rather than comparing (Cause yh the other grp is very different, they help and care for their fandom in their own way, also have good chemistry etc. You came a long way both in knowledge on the topic you present, your approach and also editing-I can only imagine how long this took to make; still giggling thinking abt the first creepy backround music you used in ur first vid 😁) Glad to see you're in a better state of mind and making more positive videos that you feel better about! There are some things that could have been included like those u mentioned, it's not "perfect", but it's still a pretty complete video with lots of good points nonetheless, at least in my opinion! :) For example, I feel like I haven't seen that many people bring up neurodivergence which is such a shame! Or the fact that they include gender neutral pronouns in almost all their love songs, or the fact that they have SO MANY SONGS THAT AREN'T ABT ROMANTIC LOVE AT ALL, touching subjects many other people can relate to (esp for people from the aro/ace community)!! Any STAY would happily help you proofread the spelling or grammar errors, and any group dynamic errors come from not yet diving quite as deeply into the fandom as us. 😅 We love all reactions to these guys. They truly deserve all the positive attention and feedback they receive. As do so many hardworking music groups. SKZ exist for their fans and constantly tell us they take in our energy and want to return it double or more. Their fans appreciate their genuine goofball selves and the lyrics they write which touch our hearts. Your perspective as Neurodivergent was valuable and useful for understanding how their unique sound style is healing for many. Thank you again, and feel free to reach out to STAY with any questions. He don't fear of losing fans by pointing out for right and that's what a true leader should act like.. He care for everyone but strict at the same time not to get them out of hand. Seeing him doing his role I always feel like if I have a team in future I'll try to be like atleast.. He is my role model in terms of leadership I KNOW COMMENT IS BIT LONG BUT I FELT LIKE I SHOULD WRITE THIS TOO.. As a STAY.. Thank you for making this! I am glad I stumbled upon this video. You summed up my thoughts about Stray kids. I have never supported a kpop group the way I support Stray Kids. I tried watching other groups but it was never the same, I'm not saying they are not great but there is something about SKZ that just captivated me so much. The relatability of these 8 kids are just so strong. I am fairly new Stay and I am so grateful that I found them in my toughest time. I am 30 yrs old with so many doubts and still trying to find what I really want to do in my life. I am stuck in a job that is making me burnout these days but 3 months ago I found their music and I found comfort in it and I never thought I'd be into kpop but SKZ's huge discography is amazing I can find songs that I like, I can find genres that suits my taste and I can find songs that captures my feelings so well and the fact that they made it themselves screams authenticity to me and it is really one of the many reasons why I am down in this rabbit hole without any intention of going out. I love being a STAY even if I'm still new. I thoroughly enjoy your video and the way you describe their dynamics with each other and with Stay. Again thanks for this.😁

So because of her I learned a lot about these guys, plus she shared with me some articles on topic (and I subscribed to the group in social media that shares some interesting facts and videos from concerts, that's where some info also came from). Aside of it all things that I stated there are my own conclusions from content I watched, hehh. But mainly really positive facts that are compiled there (about half of the video, or… nope, a bit less than it, I suppose) were told to me by STAYs that came to the comments section of some scandalous video I've made (it was kinda… ehhh… specific, hahha). There are groups who have two-five good songs, but not full albums, and there are Stray Kids whose albums I fully added in favourites. Not saying about their content, so soft and nice, truly cozy and familial! As far as I know, many times he was asked what his dream is he said that he just wants to be a singer - not some kind of worldwide star or smth like that, just singer who likes to sing! And I appreciate it very much - how he seems to genuinely like what he does and how simple his ambitions are on this matter, how… normal? Human-like? Idk how to express it with right words honestly, especially in this phase… I like how he communicates with members and helps them in their work - for example, three of them (I guess Minho too from recent times), Seungmin, Jeongin and Minho, go to the vocal teacher, and he and Hyunjin (I hope I remember things correctly) go to the pilates together which also helps with singing! I love how devoted to his profession he is. Seungmin looks like a person of strong will who will do many things for his dream, and it's very inspiring!

Happy comeback everyone! ☺️ This is the first time when I really understood that including both sweet pop-py and extremely hip-hoppy tracks in one album feels not weird but rather BALANCED?.. It's like you don't stuck into one mood and don't tire yourself with the same feeling over and over again. I still have strong preference with harsh sounding songs, but damn, now I really appreciate lyrical ones! Never thought I would, honestly (;ŏωŏ) It feels like a gulp of fresh air when you listen to sweet song after harsh one, and vice versa, you feel really energised and inspired for more when you get hip-hop track after pop one. I love the fact that SKZ give us the opportunity to feel this wide spectre of emotions that freely. Also funny thing, but today in my playlist I accidentally jumped from fresh song to the one made in 2018 or so (from "I am NOT!" I believe?..), and my first thought was "hmmm, I don't remember this song in new album, but maybe there's something with my memory", because even with half of decade between tracks you can clearly hear the distinctive style of SKZ that they have carried through the years. 5-Star was the first album I felt that emotionally invested in, and I had even watched some additional material on it, hahha, like Intro or even album unpacking. There were many interesting thoughts in Intro, by the way! Like the one that despite their initial concept being literally strays feeling lost and wandering, for now it slowly changed for being weird and not "normal", and their wandering now is "established" because they decided to wander willingly. Their goal for now is being "funnily annoying" and to make people feel emotions about it, and I think that it's absolutely wonderful. Another thought that I find beautiful is that all of them have the goal to improve even more with every comeback, taking lessons and trying something new, something unique and different every time and not ever being satisfied with themselves fully to stop evolving. Oh, and the fact that more and more boys are trying themselves in songwriting! ✨

@machgirl6385
@machgirl6385 Год назад
Oh, thank you for commenting! This is indeed very important and specific thing! Well, as far as I could understand by many articles on his topic, he's very temperamental, likes… umm… how to spell this… for example, when SKZ shared their favourite music videos, Chan's choices were mostly explicitly sexual. His parts of lyrics also often are of a "baddie" (from the most recently known example - his part in Ex? About cheating). Overall he's very controlling and often overworks and tires himself (and sometimes others too) to make something ideally. Yes, he is a sweet person, but with it he isn't "sweet" overall, as he has his relatively dark/serious side very prominent. My point in this that you should not mistake Chan for some innocent kid that should be defended (as we usually think about "sweeter" idols, involuntarily infantilising them), because he is strong enough to defend himself and others. Maybe he is sweet as a person and acts as shy and bubbly, but out of all SKZ he is the most grown up mentally, and you should not treat him like an actual kid, because out of all of them he is the least infantile, or rather he is simply not. This is what I meant. I mean, we all see that he is all kind and cute with others, yes, but this is not everything that builds up his character. There are other things that are more important. His workaholism, his strong will, his idealism and a wish to make everything as good as possible - he may act nice to achieve these things, but we should look deeper through acting to the reason he behaves like that. He might be a sweet person, but he is not "sweet" idol. Thank you again for the question!

they weren't like brotherhood close before debut, but some of them are likely friends with each other before debut, at least I.N. and Hyunjin. Han mentioned he joined JYP in 2015, so he was the first, and somehow I kind of get the feeling the story about him crying about Chan spending his birthday alone working was either before the other kids joined JYP or after I.N. and Hyunjin came to the company, but before Changbin, since he supposedly came around 2016. I also kinda remember seeing a pic of I.N. in joker outfit, which I kind of assumed it was from the monthly evaluation thing or past trainee showcase Bang Chan had mentioned in their two kids room where they teamed up together, with Han too maybe, and I.N. was posing with Hyunjin, so they were probably friends back then, at least friendly enough to take selfies together. Since Chan only remembered Han being there, it can be that he and Hyunjin haven't really interacted properly then. Han and Changbin were probably friendly enough at least for a friendly rivalry since they mentioned Han cried and they hugged not a week of their meeting and they also had rap classes together. Felix, Seungmin and Lee Know are probably the least close with everyone else before Chan gathered them up since they came in 2017, especially Lee Know, since he came only a few months before the showcase that was in the survival show.
