Talia victimized Bruce Wayne for her own end. Bruce had no power in the situation and no one on either side of the isle talks about how a character was raped. There was no blowback, no "cancelling", no articles, outrage, re-writes or backtracking. Ask yourself if....Wonder Woman was raped by Aries' son and she was made to raise his child whether she wanted to or not? What would that play like?

I can honestly say, just because someone has the title of a family never doesn't mean that they are automatically good people to you. My older brother is a prime example of why I don't believe in unconditional love and hate that people expect me to just love or like him when he has no redeeming qualities, always physically abused me done I was 6 years old while he is 11 years older, and disrespects my parents and I on a daily basis.

I think some issue with that has to do with the fact that it takes time to grow, Damian comes at a period of time where Bruce is like in his early to mid forties. Letting Damian grow, makes letting or making Bruce grow older. Which in a way, Bruce accidentally becoming a 'Metahuman' and being restored to Peak Condition was probably meant to combat that. So Bruce could be Batman longer? I'm not sure. I hope so...? In other words. 'Letting Damian grow means Batman has to go-' Or at least OG Batman. and I mean letting Damian TRULY grow, which takes time man, takes time-

In the comics it does take decades for a robin to grow up a bit and mature. The movies were a nice way to see him have his character development at a better pace; however, people who have not read the comics and don't understand how long it took him to become a great fighter there don't understand the pace at which he is becoming a better fighter; which corresponds to his maturity level. Considering his grandfather's death, his mother's abandonment of him, and everyone else he meets telling him what he has believed all his life is wrong, it makes sense why he hides his confusion and sadness behind anger. I wouldn't expect a trained assassin to show what they were taught was weakness (confusion and sadness/most emotions) when he already knew how to hide it behind anger. It is easy to hate the character because of his constant disrespect towards other characters, but his disrespect shows his respect in a weird way. He will yell at Batman but listen to what he says, constantly be mean to Timothy but say Tim was the smartest of the robins to Jason, and even tell Jon about how he doesn't need anyone's help but go to Jon's house to recruit him for missions. Damian is a character that you have to read between the lines to understand. However, I have seen people who read a poorly made comic of Damian where only his anger is shown (and nothing behind it) and not be able to see past the outward layer in future comics. He is definitely one of the characters who is normally either hated or loved.

Its really true that - "Damian has that growth because of the bond with Raven" and Damian always admires his father...he follows his footsteps and whatever bruce says...you can see in the DCAMU ...🥺💜

Damian Wayne seemed to better in Dcceased since he was one of the last members of the Bat family alive . Jason Todd had to bury his brothers and his father after returning to the cave which was tragic for him to go through . Damian Wayne was a tolerable Batman too .

Not Dick. He's too much his own thing. TIM'S the one who should be the next Batman. He's as good as, if not a better detective as Bruce. He doesn't have near the anger issues affecting the others (even Dick, he doesn't show it, but it's there). Tim also doesn't have as much going on as the others.

In fairness to Jason, his character was waaaaaaay ahead of his time. Had Jason Todd as Robin been introduced in the 90s instead of the 80s, people would've gone bananas for him. Readers just weren't ready for a Robin who was so different from Dick Grayson, which is too bad, because Jason's origin story is fantastic. Damian is a different case though. It feels like he was created to undermine the legitimacy of adopted kids.

But to be honest, jason was a just dick grayson but angry back then, most of hjs relevant identity is about being the red hood.

Bro, being killed and the Super Sons literally saved Damian, he was (and still to some extent) despised by the whole fanbase and after getting killed, brought back to life and paired with Jon the way people looked at him changed a lot. Tim is the Robin with the worst track record as Batman. We've seen him 3 times as a future Batman and once in canon and he fails each rime. Always becomes a murdering fascist. It has NEVER been stated that he is better detective than Bruce. Not once. Bruce in Batman Secret Files no 1 which released last month reveals that Duke is the best Detective amongst the Robins followed by Dick. You should catch up on the comics. Current Tim was deaged to 16. He currently has the least crimefighting experience. Just 3 years even less than Damian who has 4 years

He was having a great redemption arc and the way he went from an egoistic brat to an actual person who cares about others and also has many friends is what I like about him the most. But many writer's after that openly hated on him and dc still let them write those stories and then we see the whe character redemption arc destroyed :/

@@ethereal5 yeah they only started to regress him in preparation for the 5G event that was supposed to make him the big villain, but that of course got scrapped and so dc is trying to backtrack that with the new robin series (which is pretty good but it’s sad we gotta cycle through his growth again). honestly that’s what tires me out from comics recently. whenever a character goes through a big change or redemption arc, it gets retconned and they have to start all over again (and in some cases they flat out don’t lol poor tim). it’s so annoying to read after a while

It definitely seems unearned, but I don't mind. I'm a sucker for black sheep characters. Jason Todd is one my favorite DC characters and he's the black sheep of the bat family. With black sheep characters I'm interested in the drama and hang on to them to see if they'll ever resolve matters with their family. That's the only reason I'm keeping up with this future batman storyline. I wanna see how Luke reacts when he finds out that his brother has been masquerading as batman.

Tim comes out of no where because he was created in a period where he gets overshadowed by the first 2 robins and the most recent batfam characters. Tim was created in the wrong time and given no air to breathe as a character. If he becomes Batman he'd do it the best since hes been trained the best by Bruce to balance detective skills, combat/martial arts and gymnastics out of all sidekicks. Gen 3 heroes (Tim, Conner, Bart ect) are over shadowed and underused despite their highly level promise in taking up the mantles of their mentors

Batman may be a symbol, and idea and concept that won't die with him. But it is his lifes work, something he'd spent decades of his life, and put his blood sweat and tears into. Tim Fox is like spitting in a dead mans face. It's disrespectful as hell. Terry is up there in better choices, because he was specifically trained by and worked with Bruce.

@@postsniper-7532 I've actually thought about this, and I think Jason being Batman would be amazing. If given the chance to not go ballistic when being Batman. I don't even care if he kills or not, as long as he's done right. The reason why (and bear with me here) is because at the heart of it, while Cassandra and Dick may have grown to love Gotham (or rather the people in it, particularly the people who'd slave away for it, which I think in the end is the only reason they stick around) out of all the Robins and Bats... Jason and Tim are the only 'true Gothamites' in the end. Dick grew up in the circus, a nomadic kind of life style up until a certain point in his life, he can settle anywhere he wants really. Cass and Damian assassins born and bred to kill, and kill well. Outside of Gotham, for a good portion of their lives, at least the beginning of it. Duke probably wants nothing to do with the cowl, and isn't nearly trained enough for it to be honest. In the end, Jason and Tim seem like the best options for the cowl to me. I understand the idea of Dick and his connection with the Cowl, so I can see why he's often set up as the next Batman. Tim wants nothing to do with it, despite intellectually being the most capable and fitting for the role. Jason comes from the streets, he's been in the grime, he looks out for and understands it the most. Bruce Waynes a rich kid with issues who decided an entire city was his responsibility. (I'm not degrading his character, I think that's one of the things that make Bruce Wayne so great.) Tim would be in a similar situation, since he comes from a rich background, but he also wants nothing to do with the weight the cowl gives, he'd do it if worse came to shove because he's just that kinda guy. But poor guy needs some sleep, and rest, let's be honest here. That leaves me with Jason, being the most Gotham you can get in the entire family. I think, he deserves the opportunity to be, and excel as Gothams Dark Knight. (I KNOW I DIDN'T DO EXPLAINING IT JUSTICE, I"M SORRY, HAVE MERCY ON ME.) ON ANOTHER NOTE, hot take; Damian as the future Batman WOULD be interesting, he just has to be done right- LOOLOLOOLOLOLOOLOLOLOL (I know hot take-)

Wonderbat for me. Seems the most stable. Liked the wify vibes with Selina, but they're just too different. Catbat feels like it's just there for the clashing of ideals, but I've haven't seen much Wonderbat that explores the human side of the ship much

What I also find about Wonderbat is that Diana sees the best of humanity in Bruce. It's not some dark and corrupted thing, but a tragic story trying to fix itself over and over. Bruce sees Diana as someone strong and stable. She's the light that he's trying to fight for. That and they're both in the Justice League so they're bound to see each other a lot. My favorite Wonderbat moment was when Diana hummed "Am I Blue?" As I've heard it's completely improv cuz the VA shipped it. The people wanted to keep it in and that makes me happy

The writer who reintroduced Damian dragged Jason Todd/Red Hood through the mud in his run to make Damian look good in comparison (thankfully DC seems to have written that series out of continuity), many writers have pushed Tim Drake aside to make room for Damian, and poor Cassandra Cain is no longer even one of Bruce's kids.

Damian wasn't going all out since he's beaten Jason before (Jason was holding back) and Damian thought he could do it again. So not only did Damian's cockiness cost him being able to stand against him. But Jason was drunk and wasn't holding back. I personally think another rematch is in order. Damian should be able to hold his own and not be as easy of a win as that comic made it seem

Imagine that death and killing is the only thing you know about till you are 10. But suddenly everything changes beacuse your mom just gives you away to your dad who is nothing like you expected. When he was punished for not killing there, he is now punished for killing. I think that is pretty hard for someone none the less a child. Batman made him feel like he was a failure and never did anything right. But nightwing actually explained what he was doing wrong and never reprimanded Damian like batman did. One of the reasons I love them both.

The problem is that Damien is mostly written as this entitled, arrogant Mary Sue. And every time the character shows any type of development, the writers always bring him back to the status quo

@@michaelfireheart8300 Did you just like your own comment? lol. It's not bland or generic at all. Beast Boy and Raven are, and I've been watching Teen Titans all my life. Two dark, brooding, silent and lonely individuals, they're both prophesied to be the end of the world as shown in Batman 666, Damian is known as the Son of the Demon, Raven is literally the child of a demon. I don't really ship characters but I do like this one as it's different and it gave Damian actual emotion and character development.

It's not a difficult concept, no, but it is kinda boring sometimes. Why restrict superhero identities to being an inheritance thing? You can get some good content out of exploring how new characters come into the role, or how a child may simply decide to chart their own path. It pays to use different ideas more regularly.

The video is about trying to understand what most writer's are trying to establish with the character and how his development is much like if you take a child out of an abusive situation you can't expect them to change over night it's going to have an effect on their personalitie and development, it can take years for positive change to happen and I feel that is what most writer's are trying to do with Damian Wayne. I also feel that's what Sage's Rain's video is trying to get across.
