Thank you so much for the kind and positive comments everyone has been leaving! It makes me realize that I have a fantastic audience who want to hear what I have to say, and I should be more thankful to have you all!

Don’t stop! No matter what else is going on out there. Your content is special because it comes from you and is a representation of your unique perspective and qualities. I’ve been incredibly inspired by your channel, I make content myself and feel the same kind of demoralisation but the conventions of YT, the algo and the attention economy don’t take away from the soulful quality of your work.

Honestly, same. I have an art instagram and haven't posted in over a year because i feel unmotivated by how my content gets burried due to the algorithm. I do like your videos and will keep watching them. What I like about them is that they're more academic and going deeper than the general videos in this category, like, I feel your video are really teaching me to think and to understand, not just throwing facts at me. It's actually annoying how many channels there are who pretend to give you "the secret knowlege" but they just spit out the same boring things you can find in any self help book or "occult" book which you can easily find for 2 bucks at the local bookstore, the same old "sit in a lotus position, light candles, do yoga, wear pentagrams, visualize etc." In conclusion, your videos are valuable, higher quality, but at the same time I do understand that the algorithm wants you to post as often as possible, otherwise it burries you.

Id defo watch more stuff like this. If you'd ever like to talk history or international relations give me a shout. The way you explain and break things down has really helped me understand some complex ideas and concepts. I’m always excited to see a new video from you.

Hey! I really enjoyed listening to your 'rant'. You make alot of sense. I know experientially what its like to have ones motivation dry up as a result of conflicting thoughts and ambiguity. As for you feeling a bit bad for not making videos as often, i think you should cut yourself some slack. Your audience clearly values you as a human being. A video like the one above where you are just talking in front of the camera is just as engaging and interesting as other content youve made (for me at least). Its refreshing to hear someone being honest about their experiences and simply sharing that. You are appreciated. Maybe the field of your mind needs a period of fallowness (i dunno if thats an actual word) Blessings to you from me ❤

I have had similar thoughts and feelings. Making videos isn’t that hard, but making GOOD videos, that are original havent already been made in a way ,that is super hard man. Easy to get discouraged tbh, but whenever you have a good idea and lots of motivation do it! No rush though. Even if it’s a different style or topic than you usually do, or lower quality fuck it bro making videos is about showing and communicating what you want to yk. Could always make a 2nd channel for videos you don’t consider good enough too.

I think simplicity makes one more receptible to nuance, when I just focus on the breath i notice all the subtle movements related to the breath. I know that is not the same as a topic for discussion but it feels like simplicity and nuance can go hand in hand. Either way I have great respect for what you do with this channel no matter how much or how little you upload.

I do want to make my lectures understandable to everyone and I hope that's what I'm doing. But one of my goals is to instill people with a sense of wonder, and I think that's inherently related to a sense of mystery and profoundness, and it's the sense of certainty that dispels that feeling.

Man I get your struggle. Idk if you’ve read it before but Psychological Types by Carl Jung put that behavior of people into perspective for me. It’s honestly been a huge cornerstone in making sense of people’s sense of confidence or lack there of on different topics. If I had to guess, you are an Irrational type wrestling with Rational Types. I’m the same way (except Extroverted Thinking) and I realize, my urge to be as empirical as possible feels like the only real practical way to exist. However, rational types seem to do almost the exact opposite of this. They have a theory or a judgment first, that they stand by until it is impossible to hold on to it anymore. I used to be really frustrated with this, but now I see it as a different but viable form of hypothesis testing. I also see the downsides of my approach just as much as the upside. They really are just different. Now I’m guessing you might be cringing at my oversimplification and putting people in a box with labels rather than dynamics, which I accept and think is a reasonable critique. However, it really isn’t something that I can easily choose to separate from. I think that’s actually how I think about things. Things have to disassemble down into its binaries so that I can map the spectrum of it based on life experience. The plus side is that I can adjust or change the definitions pretty easily if they are incorrect. The names for things feel more like placeholders for archetypal logic chains rather than the other way around. It’s like making life experiences be the logic gates rather than my brain. I think this way of thinking is what Carl Jung meant by Extroverted Thinking. However, it’s not that I do not care about the nuisance and complexity. It’s just that need the “logic gates” to be clean and simple to build out from there against experience. However it’s worth checking out that book if you haven’t. I think it might help with your feelings on this issue or maybe give more insight into how those people are thinking, at least for your psych work in the future.
@Fireneedsair
@Fireneedsair Год назад
btw, from my perspective, humans want security and comfort, not truth and freedom. Freedom is scary, freedom means responsibility for one’s choices. People dig into their simple opinions because for most, doubt leads to fear and anxiety, which does not feel good. I have trained myself to enjoy doubt and love to be corrected when wrong. I once heard “try to keep your identity narrow, based on as little as possible”. Believe little, seek knowledge, is my motto. Again, good work sir

I have been watching your content for a while now. Easily the most interesting content on RU-vid. I originally wanted to wait until the video finished before posting a comment… but…hearing you compare your content to others, calling it “low quality in comparison” is being really harsh on yourself. Remember how RU-vid started, just remember cat videos, RU-vid Poops (Zelda specifically) and other legit low effort and low quality content was everywhere, and people ate it up until Google ate RU-vid. The quality of the script, how the content is being discussed, or the relevance of the video’s content and its application is more important than the quality of the video/ presentation itself, not editing skills, visual effects, etc. At least for the content you are making, and remembering how RU-vid started: everyone starts somwhere. You are doing something you clearly enjoy, and these issues you are feeing are normal. I was wondering how you were doing these past few months, and I get giddy when there’s another Nexus Void video uploaded. Clear your headspace and take it slowly. Burn out is real. Take care.

I don't watch your videos because you somehow won the war for attention. I am trained enough to align my attention with my interests and your topics and videos supply that along with concerns that I consider universal, don't worry about those things. I doubt it's different for others, it doesn't seem like your kind of audience cares about such things.

I'm the smartest person I know so yeah I understand. Not just saying that. When you're as smart as me you realize early on if people agree with you this means I myself am wrong so I seek higher knowledge until no one else agrees with me then I know I am right. This is blatantly obvious theme of knowledge. If you have great understanding and then seek validation from normies it's going to be detrimental to the knowledge you have access to within your own capability

Weirdly, the video I watched before this one was "C. Thi Nguyen: The Gamification of Public Discourse" which strangely enough answers a lot of questions this video is asking, but asks new ones in it's place. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1LpbGW3qLVg.html

The world as we experience it, is postmodern. Am i SURE about tHiS? No, and that's why I'm a postmodernist. It's all values at the bottom and from there you can use whatever scientific study you want because of epistemic uncertainty, we can use some form of logical fallacy, be it circular reasoning or appeal to consensus do discard the study. So even though you are a lot more enlightened than me, I understand this struggle with other people's ideas and you will end up with the Sartre mindset, namely than "hell is other people". Life might be a process in accepting that and living the best life in spite of that observation and trying to have the most positive experience regardless while also recognizing that one isn't any better or smarter for this observation... because in the end, it's also a value one holds.
