Today im talking about why im still playing overwatch even in a season 10 competitive meta where it seems like everybody is quitting the game. Hope you enjoy my thoughts on this!

Delusional. You just explained the experience out of every other game. At least Smash Bros didn't do lootboxes, a competitive mode where you need to babysit your own rank, a faulty reporting system, or promote a behavior that is deemed unreasonable by majority of the community. For your health, because honestly you sound like you're crying in this one, try something else and see some light. Don't quit the game, but maybe it's time to taste a new experience? Trust me it's like a breath of fresh air and I've already confirmed this with many other players. So yes to answer your question the toxicity is running rampant that badly.

WilleH1 They base that information on that that they quit Overwatch because they are bored so they think that everyone is bored so the game is dying. Ye. That's probably what they think.

I still enjoy playing Overwatch because it is the only game of its kind. It's truly a unique experience between FPS and MOBA that no other game can give you right now. The variety of heroes and maps makes it much more interesting than games like Fortnite, PUBG and CSGO for me. This was a really nice video! :)

Kelly G I really look forward to them adding to the MOBA aspect of the game. I enjoy managing resources and cool down as opposed to "technical skills" which is just "I point and click faster than you"

Let's be honest dive meta was on for way too much and too many ppl just got used to it... Now that they changed it ppl are crying... Finally all the one trick genji and tracer have to either learn new hero or get used to that they will be countered hard... Srsly I would love if OW would let you play Comps only if you played all heroes over 10 h at least and only if you got some challenges with them in game... so that we would have more flex players

I was so into this game when it came out. I even considered trying to get into the competitive scene proper at the time. Now I can't even bring myself to play it solo.

Zach Tutauha I mean blizzard in oct said 35 million players. 10million % 15 is 666,666 people bought it. So out of the 35 million 1 out of every 52ish players have bought it.

Did they hit $10 mil? It takes 1.6% of the alleged 40mil to make the purchase to hit $10mil. DotA 2 hits that in a day or two. OW is dying and Blizz deserves it. We'll all be fine.

Hey man, this positivity is so damn refreshing to hear about. There's such an influx of people voicing negative opinions (which is fine), but it's great to hear your relationship with the game and how much you like aspects of it. Keep it up man, I'll keep watching.

PCXPXGamer lower ranks aren't like GM and top 500 where you can end up seeing the same people all the time. Am I just gonna keep avoiding people all the time? There's no point. The chance that I'll see them in the next game is slim

PCXPXGamer you can only avoid 2 players for a 7 day period and easily have 3 bad teammates per game at plat unless everyone uses mics etc etc

Hafeez Hamama Are you frequent joiner of voice chat? Do you try your best to play heroes that are in a good place right now? If not you're probably at least part of the problem.

10 seasons in, and still no role queue/guild system. competitive is luck-based, due to toxic players, throwers, etc. balancing issues are skyrocketing now with the addition of Brigitte. This is why Overwatch is losing popularity, and people are switching over to Fortnite and other games. IMO if they want to fix this game, they need to start listening to the community and pros, while implementing suggested changes into the game.

I'm sure numbers are definitely gonna go down, but at least we know the game is alive and kicking (mostly from the money made from that Mercy event). Blizzard just needs to deal with the competitive aspect; which is easier said than done, but still needs to be done.

Pocky Styx it takes 660k purchases to make $10mil. When did they make it? I'm sure half the comments here bought 2 to try and use marketing psychology 101 to keep people on the game. With that said, even if 660k individuals bought it (did they even hit $10 mil yet?) That's 1.6% of 40 mil they claim. It's not going to last much longer without immensely drastic changes. Blizz is still Chaos and they're still in the early 90s.

Cosine Squared they need to make it so that if you leave, all of the people you queued with lose sr for it but whoever else is in the game doesn’t lose it and that is the most fair way I can think of. The odds of one person dodging a game for the rest of the team to not lose sr when they don’t know them is very very tiny considering how toxic most people are and it would punish people who queue with smurf accounts who can just dodge a bad game

The community needs to learn when to take a break from the game when they are burnt out instead of playing through the burnout, only breeds more toxicity. Took a 3 month break during the mercy meta and now I’m having a blast again.

It still being a fun game, it just needs some (big) fixes, but as long as it's fun I won't quit. I enjoy playing as every hero, specially as Sombra, Widowmaker, Reinhardt/Orisa and Ana/Brigitte (yes, I enjoy Brigitte, but I recognize that she's broken).

personally, i don't think that overwatch will ever die for me either. that might be because i'm not very into the competitive scene. my friend bre and i play it together a lot, and we usually stick to qp and the arcade where the meta doesn't really matter that much. u can't really have a meta in mystery heroes, after all. it's just kinda... u get what u get. bre and i are both really looking forward to the pve brawls coming back for the anniversary event. so... yeah. i've always enjoyed overwatch as a very casual experience, and i think that it will stay around as a casual game for a long long time. i can't say much for the competitive scene, bc like i said, i don't play much competitive, but i can't see the game ever dying off completely. i don't think the game itself is dying like a lot of people say, and i know i still find ways to enjoy the game no matter what, so.

I love sports and playing OW taps in to the same feeling i get when playig IRL sports. OW is literally the repetitive game i keep on playing

I just bought the game less than a week ago. Didn't want to pay full price for a game I possibly wouldn't like. But it's pretty good and very fun to play with friends. Probably will never play competitive. Not that deep into it.

Overwatch is dying cause the community fails to give ideas to help the game. You can't expect a company to develop a game for everyone if no one is actually helping. The community is the problem. Give them ideas.

I'm not a fan of the main tanks devolving into squarely CC-soakers and losing their ability to create space due to obnoxious power creep. The fact that Rein is popular because he's the defacto tank to soak Brigette spam is NOT a good thing. The fact that Winston is utterly countered by Brigette in totality is NOT a good thing. Leaving Orisa to be super mediocre and making her incredibly 'niche' and calling her a main tank is pretty damn insulting. Main tanks are just losing out every time heroes get buffed. Armor is crap for them. Their hitboxes are ridiculously large. Anything and everything bounces them around. It's tedious and boring and everyone jumps on your case if you don't practically carry the team on your shoulders.

I love this game so much still... so to everyone saying it's dead yeah maybe ur not wrong but there are still probably alot more people like me out there putting 2 hours minimum a night into overwatch for the soul fact that it's enjoyable to win in a team based setting online much respect for Joe for saying all this and much respect for the OW team for dealing with so much toxicity day in and day out

The meta is as the result of the viability of the hero's in a given season. Just because people don't like a meta doesn't mean they need to go around changing things. I.e baguette people are crying she's OP but then why aren't the pros running her accordingly? Everyone just needs to get gud that "problem" will literally correct it self in a matter of time (as in when people start playing accordingly)

Overwatch is a spectator sport now. it is way more fun watching OWL than it is to play the game. I haven't even played my placement matches for season 10 on any of my accounts yet and that should tell you how fun I think the game is. And no, it's not because of Brigitte, I absolutely love her and the fact that she destroys tracer and genji. I'm just bored of the game honestly. I will be playing in this anniversary event to get some of the cool skins, but that's it. Maybe I'll try a new hero, maybe I can find some fun again, hmm maybe some Zarya? I haven't played her much yet. Knowing that I will not be sticking with Overwatch also make it less fun for me. I know that in August or a little before that I will be going back to World of Warcraft almost full time just makes playing overwatch now just useless. Overwatch is a game you need to be playing constantly to get better and I won't be doing that.

Finally, someone who is dedicated to overwatch. It’s kind of sad this is a fun game and I’ve only been playing it for a couple of months and I’ve been enjoying it a lot. Many of my friends have decided to drop the game and accept for me not many people that I know play that often anymore.

I'm not quitting Overwatch I'm just taking a break. I've never stepped out of competitive because of a meta before but between Brigitte and Hanzo being really OP and unfun to play against right now I just need step away and play some other games for a while.

I think the "meta-problem" is more a masters(maybe even plat) and up problem. And i believe that that is not the biggest player base. The biggest player base is the casual gamer. Who are after several seasons and max 100-150 hours on the last 2 years still silver gold. They don't care (to much)about climbing they just want a relaxed gaming experience. I hear all the RU-vidrs complaining and I have not agreed with any of you.and Yes I am one of those casual gamers. I can understand that for the professionals it does get frustrating but just like any game it will always evolve. There will always be some balanceproblems. And eventually it will be fixed. Like your vids but a can't handle the complaining anymore.

i hate overwatch competitive because noone talks on mic unless you get extremely lucky and everyone on your team has a mic. its impossible to find someone at your skill level with a mic to play comp with

U probably play on EU server. I play NA and EU and the mic on comp is 100% there on NA. Even when nobody says a thing at the start just say hello guys hows everything? Everybody will talk including those with a south American accent. Eu not so much. Not that we in EU don't speak english cause we do a lot but theres so sort of fractured space between eu players idk why

You have been talking a lot about the Meta of overwatch. so i was wondering, do you think the players have the possibility to shift the meta, based on exploiting weaknesses in the current meta which then themselves become very prevalent, or do you think the meta is wholly dictated by the balance of the characters, and thus by extension the balance team? if it's the second one, could it still be considered a meta-game if it is purely based on the mechanics within the game rather than habits of players outside of the game?

I came here from one of your older videos, I wanted to say that your footage is too compressed for 720p, you can probably get sharper video with 480p. For 720p though, especially in moving scenes we can see lots of artifacts and no detail is clear.

Metas shift. For a while, DPS one tricks were hidden by the Metas, now, Tracer and Soldier one tricks are finding out all of us flex mains had the right idea. Every meta has every youtuber saying "this meta sucks!" yet all us normal guys are having fun learning the new playstyle, because it's like a new game all of a sudden. I'll concede that the Dive and Mercy Metas kinda sucked.

Plark k That could be true, but if you worked at Blizzard, would you want to just stop making money, completely? I mean we are very money-hungry world and for someone to turn away money coming their way, is almost like having 2 tanks and 2 healers in Competitive now-a-days.

Coming from gm tank main I just cant take it anymore. Game is infuriating to play. I've gone back to fornite, skyrim and bought the witcher 3 dlc and it's just so much better. Overwatch sucks now.

"Why I keep playing overwatch? Ahem. FANBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY!" No....it was a good game during a drought of horrible games in the year of the lootbox. Therefore they capitalized on it. Now that decent games such as God of War, Warframe coming to light, The Battle Royale growth, the Next COD and Battelfield are coming, it's time for the game to move aside. It's had it's spotlight probably more so then what it should have gotten away with. And let's be honest they have gotten away with A LOT OF THINGS. A lot. There's no denying that. What we shouldn't do is feed this agenda that it's alright to keep treating the player bad and giving the companies a pass on what is humane and not humane in their business practices. At least let it die with honor. It's time to move on and I'm sorry. In the end I loved it too but it doens't love me back and that feels horrible. So don't torment yourself thinking you do love this game when in your videos your voice is cracking and you really sound like you're on the verge of crying. Game's done. And I think it's healthier if you move on too.

Volzotan Smeik so gather like minded individuals to construct a narrative in the game. Big issue with that is most players are toxic already due to lack of moderation. Meaning more toxic trends born from the toxic guilds and toxic groups who promote meta play, rank shaming, hero shaming, trolling tactics, more trashtalking, more bullying ingame. A guild system would have been great much much earlier in this game's lifespan. As of now the game is not in a good condition to have one that would benefit the community as a whole. Not while solo play is enforced more so than multiplayer experiences. Not when the term "play whatever you want however you want when you" with no consequences is still fluttering about. I mean even ex Blizzard employees have said that state of mind their "philosophy" is majorly flawed in design and consideration for others.

The gameplay in this video is so boring lol. Not to your fault, but this meta is just garbage. Dragon and Grav are the only ults that matter. So boring to watch and play.
