Yes! Even I cracked IIT JAM and I was aspiring to be a professor after clearing net set exam but I saw the reality of "currupted teaching profession in India" and I dropped that idea...! That time has gone when people used to be a professor just after MSc / NET SET

Devashish Da every private engineering college is same like yours. I am also facing similar problems and the main problem is salary. They are not paying the salaries for 3-4 months and suddenly force you to resign from the college. Now a days teaching as a career in a private college is one of the worst decision. Rather to go for industrial jobs or anything else. Jokes : ***You can also become a chaiwala in front of that engineering college where you have worked. You can earn more than the faculties of that engineering college***🤣

This happened with ,i gave interview in private engg clg ,they offered me 11k salary only and told me to bring atleast 5 students for admission in this college.what is this we facaulty ,this is not our duty

I am a lecturer in the US, the salary is okay for lecturers in the US and very good for Assistant Professors and above. The good thing is we always get our salary on time and also get good vacation weeks and health insurance. We are not overloaded with administrative duties at all. We are only required to do the work listed in our contract which is very well defined, so there is no exploitation. All these things are excellent in the US. If you are interested in an intellectual environment and research then US universities are the best because there are opportunities all around. But when it comes to the students, they are worse than the students I had in India (I was also a lecturer in India). Undergraduate students in US universities are seen as customers, and grade inflation is very common. My department head in the US had asked me to improve the grades of the students because 20% were failing. These students do not know the most basic math and physics. And I am teaching in a very reputed state university in California. Except for 10-20% students rest are pure garbage.

@@creepy448 Not true, they are actually very mature and respectful. Of course there are always some exceptions but in general they are very respectful. Also the reason these students do not care for education is because US has so many jobs that a student who graduates with the most pathetic GPA also ends up getting a high paying job in the industry. There are literally more jobs than the number of students.

Spot on! Such an organized talk which covered all aspects of the degraded private engineering education scenario. Several of the points resonated with my own teaching experience, but the situation wasn't this worse in my case. Kudos to you for sharing the bare facts for the public. arre sir kya dil ki baat bole ho ekdum ! I was studying in best state government college of the state waha bhi yahi haal tha same all the works was over loaded to the assistant prof. and were exploited aur yae dikhta bhi tha kaafi, NBA inspection ke palhe wali raat to mai khud ek assistant professor ke sath baith ke fake reports print karne mai help kar raha tha because in the morning when I met him he was literally in a bad mental state, clearly frustrated although we bonded over a good rant on management overnight 😂 Its good that you moved out and I hope this scenario changes in Indian Education System

As an Instrumentation & Control student myself with a lot of dedication towards goals other than placement, I applaud your work bro. Very good production work. I have been a master student myself in a different discipline (non-engg) from a premier central college. So, I could relate to it from the student's perspective. I have seen it that, even the professors require "good" students for a healthy work-life balance. Even my uncle who is an IIT Grad had complained about the same thing when he tried teaching in a premier private college many years before when I was in UG.

But even now PhD holders from NITs are surrounded by same culture. We don't have choice, if we want to be Assistant Professor. You can't become Assistant Professor in NIT or IIT just after PhD, so there is need to join private college. The problem is big but no solution.

4-5 hrs teaching load New subjects every semester coz syllabus changes every 5 years. NBA documentation Students counselling Students placement extra training Still people say teachers are unskilled Please tell how to manage with time and get skilled

My experience is also same....i was working in sharda university and the environment was worst. Finally I complaint to the higher management and chancellor. And left the job bcz can't handle that frustrated environment and fraud Dean.

Honest review! In India this is the prevailing situation in entire country. Be it be college, university, psu, other govt dept. same situation. Only top MNC's like google, microsoft, GE, Bosch, MB provide salary and work culture as you expected in your case. Very sad reality that's why intellectuals leave India.

You are right but in Maharashtra there are some very good private colleges with very good facility. SSGMCE Shegaon has a very beautiful and well maintained campus and hostels and quarters for teachers.

I liked you mentioned about the washrooms. Many think it is too trivial to mention about it. In the college I studied, the washrooms did not have handwash even after COVID. Sometimes they had a hand soap(which is not acceptable after COVID) and my college emphasized on social distancing. Biggest joke of the century.

I am from electrical branch and my branch is closed now. I sometimes feel very sad because some professors were amazing they thought us life lessons and constant supporters. I got placed but now they are going to be unemployed 😞. Today was last lecture and I can feel pain in his voice. Students are also equally responsible that they don't give respect to faculty.

so true devashish ,from my experience in Commerce subjects,I have also worked in one of the private colleges in greater noida ,I also faced the same thing ,there was so much exploitation and salary was delayed 3-4 months.I also left the job .

I can feel your situation, I did my b. Tech from same college, they increased our fee by 20k in third year and extorted for 1st and 2nd year too. The teachers used to protest for their salary which used to get stuck for 6 months..

@@ayushjhawar9741 politics happened at that time, some abvp people came so our registration was done for that semester, but they put our admit card on hold , and asked for the increased amount, we spent around 10hrs day before exam to get the admit card, they took declaration in written then only gave admit card,

Getting faculty position in Govt. Colleges and Universities involve money. 25 lacs for aided colleges and 40 lacs for state Universities (particularly in Tamilnadu. No value for NET and high quality publications. Only money matters in most of the cases). So people move to pvt colleges and face the following probs. 1. No respect for Faculty 2. (Salary/ work load) ratio is low 3. Work life balance is very low 4. Job security is low 5. Most of the documentation work involves un-fair means and consumes time meant for preparing classes, leave alone research activities. 6. Management convinces UGC NAAC AICTE committee by hook and crook. UGC NAAC AICTE know about the un-fair documentation in pvt colleges. But they are made dumb by the hook and crook matter provided by the colleges. 7. Salary cut for not able to achieve un-reasonable targets that includes admission duties and publishing Research articles . 8. Un-reasonable targets on research articles brings down the quality of Research work. Colleges strictly wants QYANTITY and not quality. 9. In some colleges all Saturdays are working, no CL no EL, no Vacation. 10. Mismanagement of project funds in some local colleges and much more......

If you know reality of these kind of collages you can apply one PIL, so these kind of garbage things will not happen in future and if collage will shut down students also get benefits ( not now but in future) . Keep going.

I too faced all these problems in Sir MVIT Bangalore in the Year 2000. I was doing a job in a public sector company at that time. IAF Station Yalahanka is our client. I was tasked for one small feasibility study assignment for 4 months at IAF Station Yalahanka. I completed it within a week as the feasibility study gave negative results. To use the time meaningfully, I joined as a Lecturer in the ECE department at Sir MVIT. I was asked to take Operations Research subject for final year ECE students. There, all the students go for tuitions and give the least respect to the teachers. I saw only useless people everywhere. Male students showed rowdyism for marks. Female students(Mostly Kannadigas) showed their assets for marks.I gave good internal marks for most of the students. Still, some idiotic lazy students went and complained to the Principal. The students tried to attack me too. The management did not ask anything from me. The principal increased the marks and displayed the increased marks in the notice period. He said students are their high-paying clients. Teachers like me are slaves. What next? Very politely I put papers and ran away from that college. I experienced a real hell in that 4 months. Now I own an IT company + work for an MNC.

Great video !! This is really helpful for the candidates who are confused between whether to go for job as an assistant professor right after M.Tech and gain some experience or to directly go for a PhD and then start a career in academia. However, sometimes due to financial constraints people have to go for the job right after M.Tech as the stipend during PhD may not be sufficient to feed a family. So, in your opinion in such situation what a candidate should do ? Are there any kind of jobs that a full time research scholar can do remotely as WFH. Please provide some insights on this. Sir I'm very confused about my Life.. I'm done my MSc Physics (GUJARAT)...ab samaj nahi aa Raha Main kya Karu.. I'm not good in study...but lit bit intrest in physics...kya mujhe ab bed Karna chahiye..ya phir csir NET ki tayari karni chahiye...ya phir private school/college main applied Karna Chahiye....ya phir mujhe RU-vid pe kaam karna sahi lagata Hain.. details knowledge about RU-vid..mera 4 year ka experience hain RU-vid ka ...to kya mujhe tech & education ki video Mian RU-vid par video bana na chahiye ke??? I thought faculty profession will be better for me as i m mtech passout .currently i m working in north central railway as contractual je here senerio is the private engineer who is already working for railway will try to exploit you ,will not let u gain knowledge . The office clerks are also lazy they told me u r new commer so 1st salary will come late but its more than half a month i did not get salary yet .

Hello sir. All things also I felt in 4 year .I enrolled M.tech and did my job and all things faced .Privet collages me maximum Jagah yhi hall hai . Ane wale time me aisa hi chla to bhut se log dispersion ka sikar honge . Kitne teacher ko frustate hote dekha hmne ,kitne bimar ho rhe . Paise ke name per bekar sallary dete hai and koi skill bhi kya develop krega kuch motivation to ho . Ek big problem yha jyada din kam kr Liya to ab kha job mile?? Like . My one faculty was very intelligent and also gave 10 year to collage but suddenly I listen she is jobless bcoz collage ne branch close kr di or us branch me job nhi . One thing important What is the solution? Ye bhi pta hai PhD kr lo PhD kr lo are bhai ek age ke hone bad fir vhi fight fir Khatiya sallary ke job .No way. Hme Ata kya hai Padhana . Khushi kisse milti pdhake .So bhai ab kya kre industry me ja nhi skte ,jimmedariya b bhadh gyi. To find the job in this field 🤔like very tough.Mujhe to collages se nafarat ho gyi . Phle jao thay said vacancy hai then they said some time I need 3 year ex after M.tech , Sometime they are ECE department me to kuch hai nhi ,Are bhai fir bulaya kue ?? Time ki value hai ya nhi . They offering sallary like labor. 😥

This is the reality of private engineering colleges in India, the degree form these colleges is totally garbage, I request everyone ,who want to pursue engineering , do not think below IIT and NIT , otherwise don't pursue engineering from these colleges. These colleges are run by businessman only for profit making. Everyone think about carefully 🙏 It is about your future.

Sir, UPSC ke liye padhne ka time milega 4hr/day along side assistant professor in private engineering college. Myself MTech from IIT Roorkee. Appeared for 2 attempts but now Financial constraints is forcing me to look for options.

I completed my engineering from a state government college this year from a branch whose department is going to be shut down this year because of zero intake. I can relate with all the points which you told. I also feel pity for the best professor of my department who was sent in admin building to do clerical work. 😅 Question out of curiosity: why didn't you join a coaching institute? You're an IITian brother and I can easily guess from your videos that you are en excellent educator. Perfect profile which coaching classes are in search of. BITS pilani se M.E. kr rha hu assistant professor job ke BITS Pilani ka tag matter krega or PHD kru IIT se to job krne ka bi time milega ka like during PHD ke coaching me pdane ke time mil jayega
