I still drive my 16 yrs old LCR 210hp AMK stock with 290k km on the clock! Bought it new back in 2003 for 17K pounds, it was a bargain. I can't get rid of it, engine's bulletproof, turbo has been faultless all this time. I bought a 330i coupe 272hp (E92) to replace it six years ago thinking the LCR would soon die, well guess which one stays in the garage from Monday to Friday. I love my LCR so so much.
You taught me to service my leon fr tdi 1.9..... I've also got 335d now aswell, love your videos, maybe another video on service and maintenance on the 335d lol. Top man thanks for sharing your knowledge
Bro thank you so much for your comment and your support over the years. Glad to hear you're enjoying a 335d yourself. Plan on doing maintenance guides and mods on the car so there should be some interesting stuff for you coming up!
Great to finally put a face to the voice. Loved the videos and they really helped me out during ownership of my Leon. I now have a 1999 gs300, on tein coil overs and it's has an upgraded double din unit. I'm in love with the reliability of my Lexus, too many things went wrong with my Seat, although I do miss having a turbo. All the best ✌️
Hey bro yes I remember you, didn't realise you got rid of the Leon. Funny you mention that because I was seriously looking at getting an is300 when I was looking for a second car. This on the camera stuff doesn't come naturally to me so appreciate you taking the time to comment.
@@RedlineRevs yes mate the Leon just had issue after issue and I had quite bad luck. Replaced the gearbox as it blew, then turbo started blowing so was putting cash aside to pay for that when my car got side swiped when parked up. Wing mirror, fender and front door needed replacing and then to top it off the camshaft went (pd150). I seriously had enough by that point so decided to go Lexus, haven't looked back since!
Last summer I acquired a 2003 Seat Toledo 20VT (AUQ engine) it is just the BAM predecessor with 180hp. Man every time I park the car I turn back my head to stare how beautiful it is. Its black, has the Leon Cupra front bumper and sideskirts and some 19 inch satin gold rims. I fitted a Don Silencioso exhaust system, its very popular in my country (Spain) now it sounds like heaven LOL.
I still love my tdi 130 bhp remapped to160, like you say they need maintenance, being 15 years old just got the bushes done and a steering leak done on mine. When i bought it i thought i would run it for 6 months and 3 years and 110.000 km later i have no desire to part with it.
Totally agree from the 180 bhp to 225bhp auq to bam spend the money on the both engines at the end of the day both will have the same power at the end. Depending on the health of the engine.
I got rid of my cupra a year a go. Not a R but still a lot of fun... regretted it 2 mins after it was gone...had a saxo, golf TDI, golf gttdi,BMW 318ci and now back to a cupra in the same colour, same spec and now I'm happy. What I learned was...I've learned so much about the block and the car I was a fool to get rid. Cheapest boost in the uk too....but they drink like a c#nt.
@@andrewwright. glad you are back in one pretty much everyone I know who has sold theirs ended up regretting it so I'm gonna try avoid making that mistake myself!
You have 2kids? You can fit 2kids in that car! I have 3kids and they love my cupra r! 257bhp and they love that feeling of boost! It is truly the best feeling you get from a car. I dunno what car is next.. Maybe a subaru or mk2 cupra.
Yeah we can fit 2 kids in the Leon but it's more comfortable with more space obviously. Also the double push chair lives in the boot we used to have to take the wheels off to get it in the Leon but it fits whole in our new car with loads of extra space for luggage. The cupra r is a great car and I'm keeping it because I love it so much. Agreed you can get two kids in them if all you use it for is shorter journeys it's alright - we drive to Germany a few times a year so we needed extra space. I would go for a Subaru over mk2 Leon, never really liked the mk2s. I'm sure if someone has a nice one to show me up close it might change my mind.
I have a qurmestion i own the exact car im having a problem 😅 When im starting it first thing its taken 5 mins to start its fuel related I have changed the fuel filter still the same im thinking fuel pump but not sure 🤔 Don't no if you have came across anything like this since you have owned the car for 3 years ?????
Hey what's up... Great videos... Can i bug you for your opinion? 😁 I currently have a 04 fr tdi with 230 bhp, i was thinking of trading it for the cupra r like yours. Since you have had both can you compare them real quick?
@@eltax84ify if you're anywhere near London come down with your type r and try out my cupra r we could do a video feature for the channel on these iconic hot hatches.
