You don't need to explain to ANYONE why you're leaving anywhere. Just do it, go, and be happy. I'm one of the original nomads, don't like the grass growing under my feet too long and left the UK in 1987 for Canada, then moved on to the US and moved to Central Europe 7 years ago. Not done moving yet...life's too short to live in one place.
Glad to have you here, the seasons is changing soon to Autumn then Winter, so it will get a little cold but not like the UK, hope you have a good time here.
Good on you, I did this in 2010 to Spain for 5 years now Germany for 9 years best decision you could make! I know many of happy people who left to go to Australia too, plenty of experience gained too. Good luck to you !
Thank you ! Yes I am having the best time you could think, living and owrking in Germany! I considerd even looking at comparisons in the UK and its not even close the standard of living. I applied for German passport since with Brexit they gave us residence cards :) I am fluent in German so it is not an issue for the language just waiting for all the beaurocracy which takes time 🤐@@Manifesting_Secret_Sketchbook
My mum tried to go back to the UK after 30 yrs in the US. She lived there for about a year & then gave up. Number 1 reason: The Weather. Good Luck. I'm sure you'll have some great adventures.
I did the same thing as your mum States 30 years back to UK lasted 27 months then GFC hit so left. Did not go back to the USA thankfully. Hope she is doing well wherever she is.
People really underestimate the effect the UK weather and lack of sunshine, constant damp grey weather can do to your mental health. I am a Nurse and left the NHS a year ago for Australia after getting my permanent visa. I have never looked back and looking at the state of the UK, nothing has changed. Yes, Aus has it's issues just like most countries but when you can go for a walk in the sunshine or an afternoon at the beach it makes a huge difference. I simply could not handle the UK winter any more from October to April just pure grey cloud covered misery, then you MIGHT get a week of summer and your're back into winter again. Plus the cost of living, houses ridiculously expensive, the greed everywhere. UK is a bad place to live.
If you're starting from Sydney, work your way up to QLD around April as it's starting to get into Winter so QLD is better to be in for these months, then travel to WA and back through Victoria
I spent 2 weeks in Sydney and loved it, friendly people, nice beeches, great fish and chips. When people are walking about they are looking up and not down at the ground like in the UK. BTW Manly beech is better than Bondi in my opinion. Enjoy! 🙂
You are not allowed to work on a travel visa. You also have to go out of the country after 6 months and then fly back into it. The nearest place to fly too is New Zealand, although its not cheap. When I went out to Australia for a year, because I didn't fly out and fly in after six months. When I applied for a visa to go back I was banned for five years. I did leave the country when the year visa was up. Australia is incredibly strict, and migrating there is very difficult indeed. It's very difficult to get sponsorship too. Don't take the train from Sydney to Brisbane, even training it to Byron Bay takes 12 hours on a very uncomfortable old train. Brisbane is even further than Byron Bay, if you are planning to go from Sydney to Brisbane, it's best to take the flight. The country is huge.
The food's great. Getting outdoors depends some on where you are.... if you are spending time in a city, check that it is a city with beaches. For example where I live in Brisbane, it is not a beach city. I think you'll find the distances are greater than you expect. Good plan not to be in the north in summer as that is cyclone season. Good on you and good luck.
Hey chicky... Fly to Cairns, hire a car and drive north up to Cape Tribulation...If you like nature and the outdoors, you will love it. It's where the rainforest meets the beach. During the winter would be a good time to do this.
I wish i had moved there when i had the chance but i wouldnt now because i feel its going to be one of the most controlled countries.. i would love to move to Switzerland.
Don’t go to Ali’s springs do your research, Perth is a nice place a bit isolated but that’s got its benefits ,I live there since I emigrated ,youl need to work if you come here it’s a bit expensive but good do it your young
Here is what all people setting off abroad should keep in the back of their minds, for comfort and reassurance: 1) It's not a one way ticket. It's no big deal to just turn around and come back if it truly doesn't work out. However, don't be too hasty to give up if you go through some unhappiness or challenges. 2) Think of the entire planet as one city and each place you go is just a colourful new suburb where people do things differently. People really freak themselves out when they move abroad as if they've gone to another planet. 3) You only live once. Living somewhere foreign to you offers you a module of education you cannot get any other way. Also, you need to put interesting stuff into your biography! Working the daily grind, commuting from your hometown to work and watching the entire townscape devolve into fried chicken shops, Turkish barbers, betting shops, mobile phone and vape shops, Eastern European delis and poundshops cannot be your destiny. Whirl around the planet! Changing your 'four walls' is incredibly good for the spirit. You really never know what opportunities are out there, just craving you to collide with them and make some magic. Go get 'em!! 🗺✌✌✌✌
On the animals, huge spiders bigger than your hand in your toilet, and snakes on the beach is not fun! Accommodation is also very expensive, everywhere.
I have been planning to move to Australia or Thailand but my mother doesn't believe it will happen. She thinks I'm stuck here like the rest of us. Now I just want to prove her wrong. For years, I've wholeheartedly believed that every part of this country is going to keep deteriorating and I've been proved correct. Nothing is going to change this trend. We have a government whose only goal is to fuck us over and a population who gave up decades ago. My partner is from Thailand. Sometimes I feel like it was a mistake to get her to come here as she earned more than me. Her position does not get paid well in the UK at all compared to Thailand. Then there's my father who got remarried and has lived in Adelaide, Australia for almost 15 years. I'm giving myself until September 2025 to realign my career to the skills that these countries want. If something big for me doesn't happen in the UK by then, I'm outta here. I want to work to live, not live to work. Especially not in a country where you can't even do anything other than stay at home.
Hi Claire! RU-vid recommended this video to me. I've lived in Australia before, and found it a mixed bag, but it's fascinating if you enjoy beaches, scorching sunshine and deadly bugs, haha. I hope you have an amazing life there. :) Claire is my favourite girl's name, by the way. 😊 (I'm a March baby too. - Ed.)
Post BREXIT UK has turned into a bloody nightmare particularly for the native Britons. The land of Oz needs more of its exiles, the US will be preoccupied with a civil conflict soon and life in Canada has gotten more expensive than in the EU.
In fact no we dont need more immigrants from anywhere we already have more than we can handle thats why everything is so expensive here and we why we have a housing drisis - stay were you are.
@@user-bi8wp6wy3l Don't pay any attention to this clown talking about a housing drisis. If I had my own place I would make room for your right beside me in my own bed. There's a an overall shortage of white women in Canada and if you came over you would get dozens of offers providing you with a place to stay ;)
Really I have lived in Australia for more than 60 years boat people that try to come here illegally end up being put in detention centres on small islands. I believe the British government was trying to copy Australia and implement something similar. Are you taking from your actual knowledge or from what you have seen on Utube ?

There are many, many people trying to move to the US from the UK, so much so that the US has had to limit how many green cards they will give to British people yearly..
