If your peers wanted to move to another county, what 2 experiences would you give as positive advice?

Do you work from home ? How do you handle all the insecurities in Haiti ?
@SauceKingg
@SauceKingg 2 года назад
How do you make money in Haiti? What do you do for work? Did you have it set up before you moved? How would you recommend people make their money in a way that doesn't take an opportunity from a Haitian, but rather adds to the development of the community/nation?
@SauceKingg

Also, did you buy a house? Rent? Build? Or move in with others?

Are there certain things to do to ensure your safety with all of the unrest that takes place? What do you do for work in Haiti if you don’t mind sharing? Have you partnered with any U.S. based organizations like USAID or the embassy with your development background? What was your Creole proficiency when you first moved vs now? Thank you cause I know that’s not even half the questions I have 😂

wow that's great... your father did a great job telling you stories about Haiti... many Haitian parents make the mistake of not teaching their children to speak Creole etc... I wish you a lot of success in your work your videos give us strength and remind us that our duty is to save Haiti not to abandon it Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

Wow!!! You left me speechless. This is what haiti doesn’t have: more people like you who really truly love their country. Many say they do but their actions say something else. You on the other hand sister, you are amazing. The fact that you turned your career around to focus on your country is beyond recognition. You deserve a crown. My body is in the states but my mind and my heart are in Haiti, I need your inspiration. Keep up the great work 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💯

I loooooove this. You have the right mindset. This is how the country will grow. I'm not from Haiti but I understand your thinking. Everybody wants to run straight to the slavemaster's country and continue to help build their country. So what was the point of abolishing slavery if you are still gonna go work for the man? Proud of you!

Just found that I’m part Haitian Creole… my grand father was from Haiti but unfortunately this information wasn’t given until he’s gone so much of the culture wasn’t passed down and entire family just walking around saying they’re just black… learning this about my bloodline made me find understanding of myself tho all of my interest talents and religious/spiritual views resonates that of the Haitian Culture and made me no longer feel weird or random lol I thank my ancestors for leading me to the truth of who I am… I look forward to learning more and restarting the passing of culture and history to my children to pass to theirs and most of all feeling that “I’m home” feeling you spoke of… I’ve recently moved from Missouri to Florida and I feel like I’m getting closer to that feeling the more I closer to the water… and it all makes sense…. I also have Italian and Irish blood from my moms side still have to learn of her fathers side as she wasn’t raised with him but as I said before I resonate more so with my Haitian roots… I’m just proud of all of who I am and thanks again for sharing 💙🌴🇭🇹

They are just black 😂 “Haitian” isn’t a race just like American isn’t. It’s like saying I’m part English or British every black man and woman is Black regardless of what culture they have,language they speak or land they grew up. If you go to Ireland or Italy they won’t respect you as their white kind or give you free citizenship.

I love this! I always had a soft spot for Haiti. When I first moved to the US from neighboring Jamaica I realized that many people here had a negative connotation attached to Haitians. I knew many had negative thoughts against Jamaicans too, so that peaked my interest. I really appreciate you for sharing this, using this platform. People need to be educated and develop an unbiased connection with others. Happy Haitian Heritage Month y’all.

9:16 THAT RIGHT THERE!!!!! Don't tell them show them with this beautiful VLOG, I am 1st generation Haitian- American born in Harlem NY and ever since I was young age 3 I've visited and have always loved Haiti. My parents have always shown me the beauty of Haiti many people (HAITIANS) are always amazed and can't belive why I love 🇭🇹 so much. I'm super happy for you and this channel and I wish you much success. If we can live in "Khiladelphia", New York and other great American cities (No shade but we just need to do better as human beings with loving one another) it's not because of Haiti that danger will find you, danger is everywhere. You go girl, and be great God bless.

Real talk, sometimes at night in my bed I think about how Haiti has so much potential. All my friends who were born and raised on the island are the smartest people I know when it comes to mathematics and sciences. Hopefully one day I get to contribute to the country!

You see this is exactly why I want to go! I am older now and soo upset that I dont have a sense of tradition or understanding of my roots. From a young age I was told if I dont behave they'll send me to Haiti and so I associated it with punishment. I have been solo traveling and realize how much I have lost not being connected after seeing other cultures so proud and having all these traditions. I have fallen in love with just researching the history and watching videos on youtube of Haiti in the 40s, 60s etc. I can't wait to go I dont know how or when but Im going and going to educate my future children of my country.

@Tai J... The message is "Always take your children with you" as Ruth's parents did. The best gift you could give them is "Summer Vacation" not in Port-au-Prince. Port-au-Prince is not Haiti as some pretend. It's only 20% of the territory. Cap-Haitien (the old capital) and its surrounding provinces have the safest environment right now. I left 40 yrs ago & I think now is the time to go back and reconnect with the land. I hope the professionals could go en masse to rebuild this heroic nation.

I understand exactly how you felt. I was born 56 years ago and my father was Guyanese at 6 yes old my dad took me to his homeland, and it became my home, not the UK where I was born.. It set the foundation of my spirit to embrace my dads dream of going to retire and die in his home of his birth. My mother was a Jamaican (love Jamaica and it is also my home). My father instilled in me, that I was multi cultured and the UK is where I was born, my homeland is diverse. It lovely to see so many of your era embracing and moving to their parents homeland. Blessings to you. I looked at your channel via Miss Jemmia.

It's breath of fresh air to listen to your story about Haiti. Just like I grew up in America but now I leave in Haiti. Sometime it's hard when Im trying to explain to them on their ways of thinking about changes they have to start with the self discipline. For this country to change it has to start with the people not the government. They have to understand that have the power to initiate those changes. I love and appreciate you for your passion. More blessings to you. Bless

Awesome find! I am elated to discover your channel based on the title alone. We basically have similar vocation. I personally have been back and forth downthere recently. That land and the people are amazing. Ayiti is such a magnet. The reason we hear so much about crime in Ayiti nowadsys is due to the fact that once upon a time it was like a paradise and crime was nonexistent. I always tell people to not believe the hype! Growing up before moving to Jersey as a teenager, no one used to close their doors and gates when leaving for school and the local market. So go figure.... Thank you, thank you, thank you for your reinforcements!

My heart it so happy but so heavy watching your videos. I’m so happy you made the decision and shared it with us. I cry so often when I think about my country. I moved to the US at 11 but used to go back every summer until maybe 9 years ago or so. My mom and grandma still lived there until a couple of years ago. My childhood, my home is in Fontamara. But if you know what’s going on in that region of PaP you’ll know why we can’t go back. I feel like I’ve been exiled from my home and that is so painful. I imagine bandits going through my family home (since they took over the region and all of our neighbors and us have been forced to leave our homes) and just destroying everything. Just writing this is making me cry again. Petro Caraibe, Jovenel’s assassination, another earthquake, I mean what else are you gonna throw at us God? I miss my country, I hate the insecurity, I hate what the US has done, what France has done, what these social elites in Haiti have done. I’m just so tired of it all. We deserve better. I went to do a project abroad in Uganda in 2018 and I remember thinking the whole time…this looks like my country, why am I here, why am I not in Haiti doing a project there, why am I not with my people?? I went all the way across the world to help people instead of right there to Haiti to help my own. I’m a public health veterinarian, I remember being set on helping to reestablish the veterinary profession in Haiti. I visited all the primary veterinarians in PaP, my uncle included. Now I don’t know what’s going on with my plan. It all just…stopped. I want to connect with people, I want to do something. Despite having no home there right now, and the insecurity. I want to start somewhere. Thank you for helping me get this out and find a little determination I had lost to try again to get involved and do my part. I hope I can connect with other Haitians in the US and can make something happen finally.

It's been almost 3 years since I last traveled there and Lord how heart wrenching summers are without it. Kudos to you for moving down there! Haiti is my heart even though I wasn't born there. WOW your dad was so on point, I appreciate your story. If you can recommend me books to read so I can learn about Haiti that would be great. I was not privileged enough to have your experience. It is fine as I can always learn and give my children a chance! Thanks for sharing!

I found out a few years ago my great grandfather came from Ayiti. He was one of the richest men in town. He drove a model T when a lot of other people walked. He also wore the finest clothes. Once I started diving into the history, just like you, I was empowered. Lord’s will I visit Ayiti one day

Thanks for sharing this with us Rutchilia! You're such an inspiration!! I was always curious to know what motivated you to move to Haiti and how you feel about that decision now that things are being worst and worst. As long as young people like you will exist, I'll keep believing in a new Haiti. Thanks for being an inspiration!

I love your purpose and reason for moving to Haiti. For the past year I’ve been working closely with Haitian families coming to the US and I am fascinated by your country and its people 🙏. I’m even trying to learn creole to better communicate with those who don’t speak English or Spanish. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos 💓

13:50 that sentence alone holds weight seriously!! 🤯 Such a good video, well said! That’s good your living well there it’s just sad that not everyone especially the people who’ve lived/been for years can’t say the same unfortunately 😔. Violence/political issues happen not only in Haiti but everywhere everyday but however the difference for ex: the US have many resources/structure that help individuals with crime that take action etc (not saying it 100% the best) but Haiti does have it but not to that degree which makes it a bit hard to come back and stay...

I am so glad I stumbled upon your channel, it is God sent truly. Thank you so much for being so transparent and so eloquent about your love for Haiti. I feel the same as you but I am still living in the US working hard to finish paying off most of my student loans debt and eventually GET OUT forever!!!!! (HAHA) thank you for showing others in the Diaspora that going back home can be possible. Our paths may crossed in the future. All the best to you and keep those videos coming!:)

This, I love this video! Thank you for sharing. Both of my parents are from Haiti (I’m from The Bahamas) but besides my close family and friends my experiences as a Haitian has always been limited. The only time I went there was as a baby. For different reasons, including the conditions of the economic and political state of Haiti, I’ve been discouraged to go when I became old enough to do so (currently 22). through the stories my family told, I fell is love. While everyone obsessed over traveling to the US, Dubai or the Maldives, it was Haiti for me. Gratefully I can speak (not 100% fluent), read and understand Haitian Creole but I want more you know. I have dreams of temporarily living in Haiti and when I do I want to offer help as well. Haiti won’t get better if everyone’s leaving and not banding together to build up the country. It’s such a beautiful country with so much potential. I want my children to be able to experience and enjoy it as well. I can’t wait to go 🤍, if I wasn’t currently pregnant I would’ve been there enjoying my summer!

Hi Rutty! I really enjoyed your video! Below are my questions: 1. What was your move to Haiti like? What did it entail? (i.e., apartment hunting, job hunting, etc.) 2. What were some challenges/difficulties? 3. What are the pros regarding the move? 4. What would your advice be to someone who’s interested in moving back to Haiti but doesn’t know where to start? 5. How did you meet your husband? (any cute couples video would be 👌🏾but if you want to keep your relationship separate from your RU-vid channel, I completely understand. I’m finishing my last year of law school and I’m just trying to figure out how I can give back to Haiti…not just financially but substantially. I want to move to Haiti and actually do the work necessary to advance the nation as a whole. Sorry for the lengthy post 🤔

Do a video of what progress you have been able to make thus far. Or things you are currently working on to help. Very inspiring. You’re right about the older Haitians discouraging you from going. Both my parents are from Haiti and I’ve only been there once when I was 12 I’m 33 now. Absolutely loved it. Every time I try to go back my mom screams NO! She said the only reason she still goes is because of her mom. Got a follow from me.

Good day, I am very proud of you for sharing the love and passion you have for Haiti. I second every aspect of your expo because I too can relay to your story. I left the country at about 7 and never felt I belong anywhere else but Haiti. I understand the concern that family and friends has but my heart is crying for a permanent return. There is a belonging, heart warming that I cannot describe when I am in Haiti. My daughter who is not 22 born in the US also has a passion for Haiti as my husband and I always took her back home. I am hoping and praying to have a privilege to make this dream come true as I am freeing from certain family responsibilities. Well done sweetheart and very proud of you. Thanks for sharing. God bless you “Marchons Unis”
