Nice looking bike! As a Swede it is fun to see you on Swedish stuff so here’s a bit of trivia for you. Husqvarna is a Swedish town and could translate to (Hus=house kvarn=mill). Vit is the color white and pilen translate to the arrow, vitpilen = the white arrow. Svartpilen = the black arrow.
The Vit401 was my first bike, just last year. Stolen. That said, nobody asks me about my 650, but EVERYONE asked me about my 401. Would I exchange my 650? no.... Would I like a 401 forever? yes. Its a lightweight dream. So much fun.
yooooo congraaaats! just got mine like 2 weeks ago (Svartpilen). and debating if i should switch to the clip on handlebars, i really like that look but everyone's saying how uncomfortable that is .... all of my (pedal) bikes are pretty slammed (agressive) like yours, do you find the vitpilen uncomofrtable? also i've just ordered an exhaust for it that (imo) goest best with the bike - fresco ff shorty. hopefully gets delivered before i put it in storage for the year lol
im a guy who likes to ride motorcycles, but isn't really into motorcycles. i have a couple vintage bikes that i really love, but my god you just can't trust em. i bought a vit 401 in 2020, i wasn't sure. was a great price, loved the look, love a thumper....but was worried about a moto costing so little being a good performer. thought i might sell it after a year or two, but i really love it. sometimes i feel silly as a man in my forties on a small displacement bike, sometimes i don't care. has not been without problems, but nothing too major or disappointing. hope you continue to enjoy yours
You are right about the two differences, but…but an essential truth is that you can also buy the KTM Duke 390. The reason I went KTM was that the Duke has a completely upright sitting posture with a seat height lower than the Svartpilen. I was contemplating getting a Vitpilen and switching out the handlebars, but why? When the KTM already had exactly what I wanted. I do prefer the neutral colors of the pilens, but my Duke is mainly black, except for the wheels and frame in KTM orange. You can’t win them all!
I've been a long time admirer of Husky/KTM, and have a bad itch for a Svart, but I just can't convince myself to pull the trigger. However, thanks for the requested vlog, and many happy miles to you on your new newness.
Older bikes are definitely my faves, but you made the right choice!!! I was looking at Svartpilens because I'm a speed junkie. I'm now raising my grand kids, so I think I'm getting too old to be motorcycling in modern day San Diego county.
Just hit over 2 months with my Svart. Your Vit looks like one of the earlier made in Austria ones before they did iron some of the kinks out. But at least you got the exhaust routing through the frame and not under the engine like in the current generation ones where the ground clearance is really bad, especially for a scrambler styled bike
