My heart hurts for the times when you knew your family disapproved, but I watched the kimchi making video, and I hope that was a healing time. You are young, beautiful, in love, passionate and very driven. That is a lot for a family to understand. I hope you never change, other than normal changes as we age. This is coming from a grandma Doobie, who admires you greatly. So much so that I will attempt your ramen this year. It is my major goal. Time will fly by. Don't forget to breathe, just breathe

I MISSED CLASSIC DOOBY VLOGS SM

an old style classic dooby vlog was so much needed. This video was such an emotional rollercoaster, incredibly introspective on many topics, almost nostalgic in a way and oh god I died with the rue/roux caption like God really made you the queen of captions😭 I just can’t stop thinking about how much of an inspiration you are to me. 2023 was a year where all the work had to be done no matter what, resulting in stress and shitty situations, and tbh I also felt a bit like that. It was all preparatory, to set the base for what 2024 and the next years will be. You worked so hard and you deserve to rest, relax and enjoy the fruits of your labour. Oh and I might need a more in-depth video on some recipes you guys cooked on Christmas because woah I literally wanted to jump through the screen and catch that juicy duck lmao. Hope that aprons will be available soon because I can’t wait to buy one for myself and my little cooking hobby. Great video Tina ( as always hehe ) and keep it up, you have so much people that support you no matter what, me included

Love does not come from what we look at, it comes from what is inside. You fell for someone who wasn’t Korean. You didn’t fall for him because he’s not Korean, you fell for who he is. The cover does tell the whole story. You had the opportunity to understand him from the beginning to end. Who he showed himself to be was who you fell for. When we die we don’t take our bodies with us. Our souls are the only thing to pass on. So while the world looks at you for not falling for a Korean man. You can look at it as, you fell for the right man. The same man I will see again when we pass on. The same “soul” I will reunite with. I admire your love!

As someone who has been recently estranged from his father (a lot of disrespect regarding boundaries and how to communicate) I’m glad you are able to work things out with your family, it gives me the tiniest bit of hope things will pan out but only time will tell. Best wishes for everyone this year, let’s enjoy it the best we can.

Love isn’t cultivated through flowers and gift giving, anyone can do that. Good strong love is cultivated through struggle and this is even scientifically backed, you are more likely to build a healthy and long lasting relationship through getting over tough hurdles and knowing you have a partner you can trust to get through difficult times. You and Kevin have that, you two are bonded and that’s tough to find when people nowadays run when the going gets tough.

Thank you for sharing this. I remember reading comments in past vlogs and thinking to myself 'wtf, how people can be so hateful and care so much about the relationship of someone that they haven't a connection with', but from my perspective as an latin american woman I reeaally understand the societal pressure to conform to certain values and aspirations. I am so happy for you and Kevin, and something that helped me a lot with letting go my worries about what other people think about me and my partners is a saying that goes something like: you aren't a coin made out of gold to suit everyone ok, and that's fine.

I am relatively new to the Dooby train (only since last year.) I enjoy her sense of humor and the quality of her videos. I don't understand why the hate from some detractors. No one will ever love and have your best interest at heart then your family..... majority of the time when you go against your parents ..you will most likely fail in everything (love finances, etc).... i learned the hard way - i was hard headed and thought i knew better, differ generation, etc. Dont go against your family. If they disapprove there's a good reason

glad u took a break to understand urself and accept things as they are. change and indifference really is tough. you've been through tough things yet you still stand and i think that is the most important thing to acknowledge. its always important to prioritize your mental health as well. thank u for being so brave to still be able to share such intimate things with us, even if its mostly for yourself to look back on as well, but truly you have done so god damn well in the hard times. cheers to it all for making us who we are.

I find your relationship with Kevin super inspiring! You guys BUILT something together from scratch. How many people can say that about their partners?
