@@susandeguia6697 I don't quite remember but I'd say in a month I started to feel normal. 🌸 I just went through the days knowing it's temporary. I first quitted coffee completely and started to drink redbull and cocacola one can a day so that itself made a difference and I was more tired and after a week of doing that I noticed one day I don't need caffeine.

I have watched a lot of videos on trying to stop drinking coffee. This by far has been the BEST one! I can so relate to being a Christian and not liking the stronghold of coffee and it is an addiction. I can also relate to centering your day around coffee and the different reason for why you feel you need it. Thank you so much for sharing! God bless you!! 😘

Love your discipline Leah, and I agree that coffee is one of those things that people will try to make excuses for why they need it. Though I'm not a coffee drinker I do consume caffeine in teas from time to time and this made me want to cut all the way back. Though caffeine itself may not be a sin, our desire for it can easily become an idol, its always good to examine our heart and the root of why we want something. I'm glad you are reaping the benefits since quitting caffeine. "Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey?".... Romans 6:16

This is like confirmation. I have been drinking coffee for twenty-six years...which is how long I've worked for a state hospital. I started while working the night shift but continued after starting days. The last eight days I've been weaning off with decaf. Since going into menopause...caffeine has been triggering anxiety, insomnia and other issues.

I am quitting coffee because it is messing up my health. It makes me anxious and my heart beats too quickly. I am quitting sugar, if I have it in cupcakes or chocolate I get sick with flue. So yeah, I am so grateful to be at this point in my life. I actually feel happy and excited about this change

I know this is old but I'm glad I found it! I'm attempting to quit caffeine currently. Around my birthday I just started asking myself "Why am I doing this?" about many things in my life. "Am I doing this because I like it, or because I feel like I have to or because it's just a habit?" Coffee drinking was something I discovered I was doing just out of habit. And as you said, its not even that good. I had a killer headache for a couple days but now that's subsided and I feel good about getting off of caffeine fully in a few weeks.

Giiiirl, the note on coffee being such a common part of morning routines online 😳. I literally stopped watching videos of people who kept mentioning coffee. I stopped drinking coffee after high school, thank God, and I recently noticed myself thinking of having it more ... made the connection that it was because of a lot of the videos I was watching. Thank you so much for sharing!

there's nothing wrong with being addicted to something but the problem is the long list of side affects that caffeine (coffee) gives to your mind and body. its sad cause some people spend their whole lives addicted and never SEE the world without that drug, whole populations of certain countries, actually affects the whole consciousiness of the world

I work pt time at Starbucks and it amazes me how many returners we get. I notice the pain in people when they order. It's oftentimes a "fix it" thing just like sugar addictions, food etc. The bad thing is that parents come in with their children and they order the caffeine too 😕. But I pray for them and bless the cups before serving. I know I am there for a reason. I don't drink coffee often every now and again. I am starting to like this Ethiopian coffee down the street from where I live but I just bought the bag so that I don't keep going lol.

God definitely directed me to this video. I started drinking coffee at the age of sixteen. I'm thirty four now. When I met my husband, he challenged my addiction and asked me why I needed something to wake me up in the morning. Two cups a day turned into four cups a day. I managed to stop for a few years and I turned to green tea but I recently started back having coffee and let me tell you... I feel terrible. It gives me a high high and a pretty bad crash a couple hours later to the point where my eyes burn so bad that I want to drop down and sleep! I prayed about kicking the addiction then saw this video. Thank you for being transparent and sharing with us! This definitely helped me.

Hey Leah: This video was right on time because everything you noticed was the same for me. I actually decided to quit caffeine in 2019. I had the headaches for a few days then the sky didn’t seem so blue. The days weren’t as joyful to me in the beginning. I went four months and decided that it did help my weight loss. However I started my green drinks and noticed I looked a lot better and was was more rested at night. It’s very easy to overdue caffeine once you allow yourself to have it. So I need to find herbal teas I enjoy. God bless I think I need to hear this because why do I drink coffee even working remote or on weekends caffeine does cause that anxiety too.

Yes 🙌🏽 I am with you. Caffeine is so bad for female hormones and men definitely process it better. Just like alcohol, caffeine stays in our system longer than it does for men. I first gave up alcohol, then meats, then dairy and finally cut down on white flour. I have lost and maintained a weight loss of 40 pds no working out. But recently I have wanted to start a training program in the mornings. And I can never make it to the gym on time. And I realize it’s because after waking up I want to do my coffee ritual. I want to sit and sip my coffee for 30 minutes instead of working out. And just the thought of not having that daily ritual makes me sad. That’s not okay. It’s easier for me to give up everything else I listed but coffee is a toxin that I have been addicted to since I was 14. I am mentally preparing myself to give it up, but I think I need to go cold turkey. Thank you for this video 😊

I've been drinking coffee for 15 plus years, 3-6 cups per day. For 6 months I cut down and the last 2 weeks I was at zero. This week I've struggled, I've had decaf and I'm questioning why I should keep this up if it's so hard. I did the weaning off because the migraines were so bad. I've definitely felt the positive effects of not drinking any caffeine but the identity, motivation and depression piece is still there. Can you give an update video? On what life is like a year later? Thank you for this video. I appreciate your candidness about how emotional this experience is.

I didn’t have a clue I was addicted to caffeine until I was getting diagnosed for seizures. I was told to stop all caffeine as it could trigger them. I only drank a cup in the morning but it still caused withdrawals when told to stop. Before seizures I had a long history of migraine headaches, I would immediately take excederine, which had caffeine in it. Now in the last four years I exchanged them for random seizures. When I stopped caffeine, I woke up groggy and wanted that pick me up and the slept like 18 hours a day for almost a week! I felt like Rip Van Winkle. But I was well rested. I now wonder if caffeine contributed to 25 years of migraines. It’s funny that I’m now taking small doses of seizure medication that calms the brain to not set off the cell that triggers the seizure. Maybe good rest has been the answer to all my problems. Being all hyped up on caffeine may have been a huge contributing factor. Thanks for describing your experience. You are still young and definitely doing your body and brain a healthy blessing.

I'm surprised that you were only drinking 1 or 2 cups a day! MOST people with a serious coffee habit drink SEVERAL cups a day. I am a lifelong hard core SUGAR ADDICT. Like you previously did, I always drink 1 or 2 cups of coffee a day. I drink instant coffee with only cream added. I figured that small of an amount was not a big deal. But in watching your video I am seeing similarities with me and coffee. Maybe I need to examine my coffee intake as well as my processed sugar food addiction!

Sooo I’m 27 and have been drinking coffee since 13 and recently, Ive been debating cutting caffeine/coffee because I didn’t like whenever I’d “miss” having coffee for the day, if get a bad headache. But after watching this, (as of Thursday), I decided to give it up (cold Turkey) because nothing should have that much control of me. So thank you for this video! So many good points. Ps pray for me cause the headaches and tiredness are real 😫 Alsooo do you have some tea alternatives that are caffeine free? I would typically do chai but chai is caffeine too lol

I’m so proud of you Whitney! I know it can be hard with headaches in the beginning but hopefully they subside soon! Mine lasted about 2 days but I know everybody is different. There’s a good decaf tea that you can get from target “Harney & David’s Decaf Vanilla Comoro” that’s a good option if you like hot tea and want something similar to a black tea. I also like Tazo passion tea for an iced option. There are teas out there that taste somewhat like coffee but I was trying to get away from that flavor. If that’s more of what you want you can check out Teeccino or brands similar to that. I also feel like I saw a decaffeinated chai tea at target but idk how it tastes

I agree with most of what u said but youre being too hard on yourself. coffee is there to be enjoyed and so is alcohol and sweets etc just not daily. it's not coffee's fault, people abuse it. drink selectively. for example i dont exercise daily because it stresses the body and mind too much but i have a craving to exercise daily but i just dont so being addicted to anything is bad, coffee is just worse. be gentle on yourself. i dont like people that totally quit something never to have it again. eg some people stop eating meat.. why? just eat it sometimes if u enjoy it. bottom line i only drink coffee when i have the morning off and am at home. if im working i dont drink it cause i work better without it, similar to alcohol etc

A lot of what you are saying is what I am currently going through. I only have a cup of coffee in the morning as it is part of my routine and a lot of the times I don't even finish the cup. It's more of a "smell of coffee in the air" and "that hot fresh cup" for me however, that routine and habit of coffee every morning, I didn't realize how strong it was until I tried to stop. I didn't get headaches but I felt like I couldn't enjoy my mornings if I didn't have a cup. Tried tea but its so blaaahhh tasting. I just got to buckle down and get through 30 days and see what happens. Even at such a small amount of coffee, in comparison others, it still is addicting! (ง︡'-'︠)ง

But less severe than my caffeine migraines. I got really tired, but just made sure to go to bed early and take naps in the day if I could. My beverage now is herbal teas, and I vary them a lot in order not to get tired of it and default back to coffee. I am 3 weeks into no-coffee, and have hardly any headaches and NO migraines. why do people eat steak? cause they like the taste, they dont need it. the caffeine in coffee contributes to the taste, decaf cant compete. coffee is the most tastiest thing in my diet but im aware of the side affects so i dont have it daily but to be honest 1 cup of coffee with breakast (so one a day) is a very good level for most people but most people abuse it and have 2 to 7 cups a day !
