As a fan who started to subscribe at the beginning, it is heartfelt to see this video. I was interested in life science consulting and this channel helped me a lot by providing all the info that I was not exposed to. Thanks for sharing. Also, I appreciate the sincerity in this video. Life is full of change. Be the change you wish to see in this world. Best of luck!
As a 2nd year PhD student, your videos are extremely helpful. There is not much coverage of alternative career paths, what they’re like, pros and cons, income, etc. This channel has been a really valuable resource
Thank you so much for your video! I’m a senior year PhD student from East Asia, currently studying biology in the US. I have similar ambitions as you and am considering a career in consulting to learn about businesses. But, one thing that keeps bothering me is that I’m not as chatty as many students preparing for consulting. I think my non-native level of English also plays a role in this. I’m curious about how you navigated these challenges. Also, I was wondering if it’s common practice in consulting firms for women to take time off during pregnancy and return to work without setbacks. Could you please share your thoughts on this?
Great questions! Yes using a second language is a bit challenging to a degree but you should trust yourself coz you are a PhD student here so you definitely have all the skills to speak English confidently!
And yes, women take time off for maternity leave and other things in corporate world. Obviously it will leave some time gap in your career but you have to do what’s the best for your family!
