Why I REALLY Bought a BMW M2 Competition... 

They planned this road trip to Tesco's over a week ago. Also you guys should give your girlfriends your camera's and have them review your cars.

How can you mod the car if it's on PCP? I am on PCP also (M2 LCI) and would love to do some mods, but I don't think it's allowed and therefore dangerous territory (look what happened to Ricky from LLF)

When buying a car on finance it's the total cost not the monthly payments that matters and until the agreement is fulfilled you don't own the car the finance company does

The only way to buy these cars or any car for that matter is to save up the dosh and buy them outright. No way am I going to be spending all sorts on interest to give to the thieving banks.

You know you'll void your finance if you mod the car as its not your car until you make the final payment.

You never shop for a car using the monthly payment. You should based on price and rate. If you're rate is a good rate, you should never put down a deposit. I'm with the other comments. This RU-vidr doesn't know jack shit about money.

You need a reality check on your finance assumptions. The balloon payment is way higher because the car is way more expensive...so, you’re not planning on paying the ballon...ok but. The ballon is NOT the residual value of the car it’s simply what you need to pay to settle the agreement. If, at the end of the term, that car’s worth less then you’re in for a bill which will effectively make your payments higher! The cheaper car with the similar monthly payments will be far cheaper to own over the term. Basically, whichever way you carve it up, you are financing the purchase price of the car. The more expensive car will attract more interest overall and also depreciate more over the period. Therefore Net actual cost of ownership will be more.

Quick question, since you paid $40k for it and your monthly payment is around $400 dollars a month, with 10% down. That would take you approximately 7.5 years to pay off. Am I correct or am I missing anything? Also, I’ve been looking to buy a 2018 M2 LCI but have fallen in love with the competition more and more every time I see it for reasons such as the interior and engine but sadly I can’t afford the competition but can afford a M2 LCI. Do you think I will regret my decision with not going for the M2C? Especially putting into consideration the residual value in the future. Love the channel!

Good Stuff paul, recently bought a 2014 M4 and was looking at how relatively cheap finance deals were on nearly new BMW M Competition models were!

2:18 Paul Mate you need to get a valve controller. Just like on the M3/M4, the valves shut constantly. You can hear it as this point and throughout this sound clip. As soon as you come off the throttle the valves shut and you get the weak burbling.

I get that from a monthly payment perspective the Comp was attractive, but what about the equity you will be left with at the end of the term (or before if you chop in early)? To compare you need to look at the total cost for the term of the agreement, surely?

Don't use the auto calculators kids! You go to the dealer and haggle the interest down when buying the car since the dealers get profit from everything over base interest auto calculators is always way above

11:03 payment on m2c might “only” be £35 more than the 2016 you looked at, but you’re mental if you think m2c won’t cost you loads more in long run. The 2016 car has already been through its steepest depreciation period. Where as you’ll be taking the hit yourself on the m2c.

I bought my 67 plate m2 lci 2 years ago for 39k 4000 miles on the clock put 9k in and I pay £298 a month I thought it was a good deal. The comp wasn’t out at the time. I’m planning on paying the ballon and keeping it.

I'd have the M2 Comp over the A45s, but I'd have a CLA45s over a M2 Comp. The A bodystyle is just kind of boring for the type of car that it is, especially compared to the CLA and M2

The M2 comp will depreciate more and you'll have less chance of having equity in it. People look at deposit and monthly's and forget about the cost of getting out've a car.

I don't trust the S55, your crank hub could back out with aggressive downshifts (generally considered root cause). 2023 M2 with S58

How can you modd a car that you don’t own?? You change cars so often I highly doubt that your going to purchase it come end of your lease, so how can you make any changes without consequence?

It needs to be a manual but other than that it brilliant.

Brand new M2C, £12.5k down and £300 a month at BMW just now. 2.9% finance. Makes buying new about the same as buying a nearly new - plus it's new. Got mine arriving in a couple of weeks after PPF and Ceramic treatment

£31k all in for the ‘16, £48k for the ‘19 assuming you pay the balloon. £22.5k over 4 years for the ‘16, £25.5k for the ‘19 assuming you hand the keys back. For that money you could literally almost buy the ‘16 outright, and have the car to keep at the end of 4 years.

Finance gets a lot of hate! But really Finance allows people to get nicer cars at a more spreadable cost over a set time and also either keep them after, or just move onto something else and Finance that. I just put a deposit down for a Mini JCW 2017 with £8000 worth of options added by the previous owner, and the monthly payments aren't even £200. I'll have it paid off way before the 4 years. But don't need to rush it. I can then keep it or part exchange it, getting a value of what it would part exchange at- the money goes to the finance company to pay off what I had left to pay on finance, and the rest is a deposit on the next car. I had £5000 left to pay on my previous car, £9000 overall value so had £4000 to deposit. But that's only because I fell in love with the JCW when I wasn't even supposed to be looking for a new car. Oooooppss.

To create an A45 with AMG’s budget is easy. Power, FWD, job done. To create an M2 with genuine driver appeal is difficult and rarer.

Insane that no one in the comments understands finance, the M2C is clearly the better deal and PCP is the best way to buy a car, the fact he has warranty and less maintenance it literally becomes cheaper over the 4 year period.

Just test drove a Competition w/manual box earlier today. Unbelievable car and loads of fun. The car is a monster. Now, I have to figure out how to get it.
