Why I SKIPPED Yato

Thank you When I told people I was skipping her, they acted like I had committed a crime against the game. People seemed genuinely upset that I wasn't pulling for her. I gave up on chasing Meta units very long ago. Because I realized that I did not enjoy them, and they were just gonna be replaced every 3 months or less. I haven't been interested in any units since specter alter. I have 520 something pulls saved because I want the R6 characters and will wait out Abyssal Hunters Part 3, and or D2 collab. Until then, all other characters are irrelevant. And I don't give a f*** about how much ooga booga big number they have.

Its actually a bit crazy how I didnt play arknights for a year and when i came back, Ive missed yato alter, texas alter, mlynar and Ines but somehow I still can finish events pretty well. Man I love how not-so-powercreep Arknights is.

I’m more annoyed how both sides of the argument can get very high horse over another. I see most common points on both sides are either a must pull because broken or the didn’t pull because meta slave bad. It ends up painting as if one’s pulling metas are stupid. Which I feel like could end up being toxic on both sides. Not pulling for limiteds are absolutely respectable considering you need be unaffected by it. I’ve pulled on most limited because it’s harder to get them and I liked a lot of the characters who appeared on it.

To be fair: Yato alter does do *mixed damage* meaning even if targets def exceeds her atk she still will do chip damage as 12% (iirc) of her atk is dealt as arts damage

I think you dont really need Kirin Yato if you have Texalter already. She's just more versatile and running 2 specialist helidrops in a squad is kinda lame.

I use the monster hunter squad because of monster hunter. I really wished the MH collab brought other weapons other than the always in collaboration longsword and dual blades. Like Hunting horn or the Switch axe. But alas, P6M9 Yato and P6M6 Noir is in the squad always.

I skipped yato alter for two reason: •She's boring, like her kit isn't really that unique apart from that one skill that increases her range. •All major content creators were like "pull for her pull for her" and surrounding her with so much hype that It did the opposite to me and i started to get annoyed by it. I don't regret It one bit and if i really need her i can just use a support one

Yato spoiled me so much that i genuinely didn't know how strong an enemy actually was until i didn't just Yato'ed them, deadass deleting bosses and become a lawn mower that deals roughly ~2k dmg each slash against enemies with B+ or A DEF enemy, against enemy with low DEF or no DEF, she's practically a delete button against them that has a cooldown of 18 seconds

atleast you were able to get some good characters... I couldn't pull for any of em, except for ines

80 pull no yato alter , i cannot forget how painful experience it was not getting limited character

I skipped Mlynar and Reed alter... and now I'm regretting it but hey I got Yalter and Texalter

I don't really care for meta units but, I always pull for limited units because they're essentially "hard to obtain" in the future and my enjoyment comes from trying out new and different units. I dislike when someone says "brainrot to use" imo it's only brainrot because you want to use it in brainrot situations and theres essentially no reason to skip limited units? you could always pity standard ones like i usually do for most of my favorite characters and if you get the limited unit you get something new to try out or if you dont you'll still get another unit to have fun with? its a WIN-WIN situation there was never a need to gatekeep yourself from it in my perspective

From my experience her S3 still does a considerable amount of damage despite even if an enemy has high def. But I wasn’t expecting to get Yato anyways and got her in around 8 pulls so.

I'm watching this video now, when I'm thinking to skip the rainbow banners, because I played R6 for a couple of years and I HATE Ela and Ash. So I think I'll follow your advise

Honestly While I do have her and use her from time to time, its not that I hate Yato, I actually like her. Its not that I like Meta too, I maxed out my Mumu for EXTREMELY Delulu reasons, even maxed my Reed alter because i got her 3 times, i like many things going boom and the final nail in the coffin is her witch skin, being a huge fan of witches. I mainly got her because true limited like ash where at the time, it seemed like they will never come back, and that I wanted one too because i didnt get ash. But besides all of this yap of mine, what I wanted to say was that I find people who tell people why you didnt get X character because X character is good to be a bit...annoying. If they didnt get a character because of X reason, then thats on them, I will pull and enjoy them myself. I didnt pull for Mlynar or Nearl because I wasnt interested in the nearl family(although I got blemishine because it was my birthday at the time so she's a special case). Whats funny though is that I did the opposite of this scenario where during Dorothy's release, people were saying not to pull for her because Terxas and penance are coming and I still opulled and got Dorothy, and I love it,(still got texas and penance at the end so win win, at the cost of a personal bet). Point is, I dont pull for Meta, I pull for fun and delusions, I got jessica alter becasue she is me fr fr, i got typhon because I like her too, didnt even know she was meta, I got Mumu(I wont elaborate on it, but she and Furina dropped at the same time). I dont even know why im sharing all of this, I just like to say that Meta gets boring, just go for the fun ones. I love Jessica alter's gun and dployable shield for readjusting aim and Mumu's water clones, especially in IS Mumu has been a real champion.

Well, I got my Yato P5 in 150 Pulls. P6 with CC12 token. I agree that she really makes the game too easy. S3 gives I-frames and S2 nukes everything

I pull her cuz I like yato. Don’t really care about meta stuff. I usually only play 5 star and less until cc come around and now pinch out and yea Texas alter is hella brain dead after I use her for one day. Make thing alot easier.

While I agree that generally speaking texalter is slightly better than yatoalter, most CN tierlists have them basically neck in neck, with 血狼破军 Straight up ranking yato higher than tex (granted his lists are always controversial). that aside, tex is also very susceptible to CC. if she gets frozen/stunned, there goes 50-100% of her damage, while yato is legit just immune to all negative effects for the duration of her skill. as for 1:49, you can try using tex alter to fight max diff frozen calamity / lion king boss in is4. In your case I understand since you had to pick one, and in that context I likely would've done the same, but yatoalter is simply not a character you can handwave away not pulling for because "I had a similar enough op already" if you have the resources.

Although I agree that you should play the game your way, your depiction of Yato alter situation is very reductive and narrow. Both Yato alt and Texas alt are not that different in general. Are they moneygrab op? Yes, and so are every other ops in a sense depending on what is your subjective limit. Braindead? Yes. It's weird that you decided to skip her and this is one of your reason. Texas is no less braindead when compared to Yato.Their kits and role are somewhat similar in general. This is not a recent or Yato problem. Eyja basically kill most of AOE casters and core caster without busted kit. Powercreep is and will always be a problem in these type of games. It's ok to dislike her because of her preference using her as an example to not always follow meta and showing Texalter is contradicting. I don't think the other AK content creators are wrong when they said she is a must pull. They just use different criteria than your to judge new ops. Yato alter is strong and limited, and it's enough to justify a "must pull", in my opinion. I think there is better way to demonstrate "play however you want" idea with such negative connotations in the video. I'm a semi meta-slave in a sense that thorn, mountain, and chen alter are always in the roster but Angelina, Lunacub, and Dorothy will be the ones who are max level and have all the skins. I deadass pulled her for the skill animations, no more no less ever since she was first revealed in CN lol. S2 dance and S3 speen are satisfying to see. Nowadays, sometimes I use her, sometimes I don't, but when I want to, I always play her animation (well, mainly S2 since I like it more) in slow mo 👌

Deadass, pulled for qiubai, got her in 10 pulls, UNINSTALLED the game when Yalter banner dropped, came back when Yalter is gone, E2'd Qiubai.

I actually started the game right before that event so I didn't fully understand what limited meant and honestly I don't care that I "skipped" yato cause I got pot3 noir alter and later e2ed him because he is so cool and his design and gameplay is much more appealing to me

Most of people roll for Yato Alter because she broken. Me rolling her for limited collection only: (I'm even not building her yet, unless if Ranger and Durin receive the same treatment as Yato and Noir Corne)

I did the same and pulled everything for Qiubai (though I did get Yato Alter in literally 20 pulls lol) and the game is pretty enjoyable. I just use an AFK Squad if I want to breeze through the stages and only play for the story.

Understandable. Yato Alter really is weaker than Texas, but that doesn't mean she`s useless or you can't use her if you already have texas. I have Yato Alt and shes strong even against enemies with high defence since she can deal arts damage too. What`s make her strong is skill 3, that can hit lots of enemies in straight long line that can't do texas. This skill also great to deal with bosses that have big hitboxes + this skill can deal damage to air enemies. But its fine if you prefered other operators over her. Not that long ago we witnessed news that R6S collab coming with new event, AS WELL AS RERUN OF ORIGINIUM DUST ALONG WITH ITS BANNER WITH ASH (but without free 10/20 pulls). So we now know that if Monster Hunter collab is coming back then we surely will get rerun of Yato Alter banner. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone pull for those operators (Specificly Ash soon) if you have even a little interest in them, because god know how players will be able to get them after rerun of those events will be gone, I even doubt we gonna have spark system for them like limited ones have. With that I guess there`s list of preferences over banners: 1) Banner that include character that YOU really-really want; 2) Limited banners with limited operators that has no rerun; 3) Collab limited banners (will have rerun but god knows when); 4) Event banners that wouldn't get rerun (like one with Ines); 5) Event banners that will get rerun after a year; 6) Standart headhunting banner (yeallow one); 7) Blue disaster that only worth getting operators thru yellow certificate shop [pretty usefull tho. In times when you can choose 5*/6* for blue banner that will appear in yellow certificate shop so you could get them there. 180 yellow (something equal around 25-30 pulls) for guaranteed 6* that you need is neat, just be sure you really want this operator by wasting yellow certs that you could exchange for pulls for banners from top of the list that may coming soon].

Now, every once in a while, i get pretty pissed off by the fact they made Original Characters of the Game Limited by Collab, like WTF. I thought they burned the Kitchen just because off that rather than the fact she "brokes" the game, because i just couldn't cope with it. Lol

Legit, but I still want her. I didn't get her tho, but it's fine. I'm a staller anyway, so I bring Gravel more than I bring Texas alter(I don't even elited 2 her). For more damage I can just bring Kal' or NTR.

I got Yato alter and texas alter, but they are too strong, so to have chalange in general content i use no 6 star nishe. But in hardcore mods such as is, cc, sss , they really helpfull.

yeah, as someone who play Lupo ops. sometimes i feel guilty, to many broken ops in my niche, but on the other hand, i'm pulling on Virtuosa just for Bassline so...

You can't really blame them for hyping yato and telling people to pull for her especially when NEW PLAYERS AND F2P still exist and her value for those players are high especially that she's a true limited and may never come back again + it's rare to see a 2 star from year 1 finally getting a 6 star alter. Not to mention even if you pulled on texas alter banner and drained everything YOU still have enough to guarantee yato alt which i tested, so i dont get the reason for skipping her? Especially for a f2p she has a 120 guarantee ain't that a good deal for a "brain dead" unit?

While Texalter was definitely better in IS3 due to aerial stun being crack broken, in IS4... Not so much. Been having more success with Yalter. But for general content, I can agree with T>Y. Didn't really listen to influencers before pulling for her, S3 spin just looked fun, that and belly button. Ever since I realized (fast enough) she's broken I don't use her much (outside of IS when I feel uneasy about the run)

I dont like yalter mostly because it was a monhun collab If hg actually gave her a "normal skin" i might try to get her Those monhun stuff looks clunky and too stand out for the rest of arknights aesthetic Heck i love noir corne But those armor and blades just really awful Ill just wait till they make the "normal" skin

if you play gacha you make bad decisions in life 'physical damage fast redeploy' ..she does 20% of her damage as arts. so she will cut thru a defense crusher or something or something that needs to be hit with arts like those ling garbage things, she will hit them with arts. it doesn't have the RES shred of Texas s2, but she does do arts damage. look you went into the banner with 6 pulls and didn't swipe and I can respect that. gameplay wise yato 2 is usually the same as or worse than texas 2. I can accept that. there are a few situations where yato is better. situation 1, when you need to multiple hit something really really quickly (various events need this) situation 2. When placing texas has her die immediately so you want to spin yato s3 because she can't be hurt until she finishes her damage dump. look I can respect you skipping her, but your your reasons feel like copium for why you didn't plan your pulls better and only had 6 pulls at the time of her banner. I have no idea what copium you are on showing Yato 'struggling' vs big bob' dropped her on him s2, took him to 20% HP s3 was 50% HP, both took him out in two spins. they are aoe attacks for clearing mobs, but to say they struggle and then show, that is just...rude.

My reason is simple 1. I wasn't there when her event ongoing 2. She deal physically attack 3. She's limited, that's mean she will be harder to get if you're not lucky

the game is so easy you can beat it with qiubai so it is irrelevant if you pulled yato or not. also as someone who uses E2 90 ines, outside of IS4 she is never worth using over flagpipe, so more coping. but again the game is super easy so just use siege or whatever you like

Ofc someone with the walmart Ines pfp would call her a top tier unit. Yato is extremely versatile cause her S2 can ignore any status like frozen and such while having a really fast burst. With her S2, it doesn't matter if an enemy almost kills her because her skill would be done if an enemy is about to attack her again and just retreat her. S3 is also really good especially if there's a line of mobs and you put her behind them and face her towards the direction they're walking cause the damage registers every 0.2 tiles (iirc) and she moves along the target. She's pretty much better in casual gameplay. So, idk why you would put her below Taxer just because they have different type of damage. They're definitely on the same level. Sorry for my bad english
