Why I Stopped Following Jesus and Left Christianity After 20 Years 

I’m starting to go down that route and slowly let go of my faith because of the many prayers and routine as well as personal issues I have with Christianity. The hypocrisy, dogma, and hate is what is turning me away. I believe in God but I’m just tired of going through the motions of praying and doing things to redeem my faith in Christ. Does that make sense?

It is some Roman hodgepodge of pagan beliefs with an admixture of various early church doctrines, all of which disagree with each other, (might I add). Yes, there might be some mistake in translation in all the previous books. But if the previous books did not have flaws, why did Allah state in the Holy Qur'an that He will protect it? This clearly shows that the previous books were corrupted and only the holy Qur'an remains unchanged from the day it was revealed to prophet Muhammad PBUH. Every Muslims knows this. First of all, take a look at the contradictions. There's not 1 but 100! If you give a contradictory statement in your police report and in the courtroom, will it be accepted? It os for that reason why I turned away. I do not believe in a sacrifice. It does not mean anything to me. Not here to argue, just sharing my experiences and beliefs. So I know you'll be tempted to try and convince me that I should accept Jesus'sacrifice. I will rather take responsibility for my thoughts and actions and not deflect responsibility to someone else to die on my behalf Either way, I not longer believe any of that stuff about sacrifice. Frankly, the people who leave Christianity generally no longer think there is a good reason to think that Christian beliefs are true. Same goes for the Bible. That's basically what happened to me. I thought deeply about what reasons I had to believe it all in the first place. Ultimately they were bad reasons (I was raised in it, people told me it was true, other people around me believed, etc.), so I tried to look for better reasons, and I still haven't found any. Quite the opposite actually.

in Christianity there is many denominations, but the only one that receives the Holy Spirit is the born again Christians. And this are the only true Christians, who are led by the Spirit of God. In Jesus’s own words He said in Luke 9:23, that if anyone would come after Him, let that man deny himself, take up their cross and follow Him. I think trying to make Jesus fit your belief, isn’t the right way to go. There is no hell to go to. Hell is used to scare people into following a religion. No one has ever shown any actual proof of hell.

There are numerous accounts of hell in the Bible. There are also numerous accounts of hell from people who have had near death experiences and were sent there for a time before coming back. All that aside, do we not see evidence of hell throughout this very world we live in? You’re highly mistaken if you don’t think that Satan and his demons are walking this earth as we speak. Yes, hell should scare people. It should do exactly that. I do not want to go there and I will do what God tells so I can avoid it. I don’t do what makes me feel good or only those things that I like. That process doesn’t lead to anything worth having. Apply that to anything today as well. What if Harvard said you can pick and choose what classes to go to and what assignments to do? It won’t even grade them and it won’t grade attendance. If you’re told to do a thesis but you decide to turn in a stock figure drawing on a post-it note then great! Just as good! Would Harvard still be Harvard and would that piece of paper you so proudly hang on your wall count for anything?

Whatever you’re asking for isn’t guaranteed to be given. Ask and you shall receive wasn’t meant in those terms. God isn’t a magic lamp that you rub and he’s beholden to pop out in the form of a genie and grant you any and every wish. If you ask for good things in the eyes of God then he will grant them. Ask for strength to overcome addictions for instance and he will grant it. You still have to draw upon that strength and use it, he won’t do it for you. But he will give it to you. Asking for a promotion or a new car or even to heal a loved one aren’t necessarily going to be granted, as good as those things may be. They might not be His will or what you need at that time. He will grant you the best thing you need at that time or He may wait until the best time to receive those best things. God isn’t a lottery ticket and it’s sad when people think He is and get disappointed when he doesn’t pay up. These books are all the same in that they make claims that no one can actually verify and test to confirm and these revelations always come through a person/people who say it's from God. My conclusion so far is that eternity is an ever present state of existence that cannot not exist. If such a state exists, then we are there already and we transition to different phases and experiences of eternity. I do not believe in burning in hell or going to the traditional view of a heaven that certain religions talk about. Each religion so far in my experience describes this, just in different ways. And to someone, one interpretation is true, and to someone else, another is true. yet who really 100% knows everything there is to know about eternity? This is my conclusion.
