Sherry, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. My mom died earlier in August. We knew it was coming, but not as quickly and as soon as it happened. I go through those ups and downs that you spoke of. I turned to crafting, Lego building, Zentangle, and sudoku - anything that would make my mind focus on something else. Please take care of yourself - including doing something nice for you - an unplanned trip to the ice cream stand, coffee shop, etc. A massage will help your body which is tense from what you are going through (I just had one on Saturday). Again, prayers for you and your family.

I totally understand needing that distraction-when I found out my father was terminal and had weeks or months to live, as soon as I was done with the call for a plane ticket home, I sat down at my planning desk and did two months of decorative planner spreads. Creation is important for me in times of uncertainty, chaos, and sadness. I hope for you and your family to find peace during this difficult time. ❤
Thank you for sharing your sorrow with us, Sherry. I was getting worried when File Folder Friday didn't happen-- I knew in my heart only something so difficult would keep you away. When my daughter-- our only child-- died several years ago, the only time I was not catatonic with grief was when I was in my craft room. Scrapbooking and Crafting were my only therapy and what calmed me when I lost my grandmother on a Tuesday and my brother the following week almost 20 years ago. Take your time.. we will be here. 💜 Prayers said for you and your family.
