@@natashatheresa yes! I would be highly interested on how you handle the transition between threadmill, sitting on the floor, sitting on the balll.... I'm worried that it's not super userfriendly
@@guerrerohernandez90 yeah that’s a good point. I feel like I would need some kinda walking pad that is easy to move out the way, or maybe I just put my cushion on it and sit on it lolllllllllll. But make sure it’s off lolll
"Diversity of movement" I really appreciate that phrase! Just hearing it was paradigm-shifting for me. I have quit our couch, chairs and bed recently (thank you for inspiration!) and, as a trucker, I definitely need more diversity of movement if I'm going to keep up with my kids at all!
Wow this is so great to hear Dave!! Especially as a trucker (my dad was a trucker and I only realize looking back how over time he lost his mobility b/c he primarily woudl just sit and drive) it's soo important to make sure the rest of your time is structured in a way that helps with mobility! Yeah I really like that phrase, it just helps me to have it at the forefront of my mind as I strive to intentionally move throughout my day :)
Doesn't have to be a desk attached to the treadmill, they sell walking pads at Amazon that can be placed in front of a standing desk. They're like lightweight treadmills that can be moved anywhere.
This is fun, because I have been drooling at Uppeal desks for a while, and when I discovered your channel thought that this would be a match made in heaven. Well, here we are!
I love seeing an actual review for this. I ordered this 2 years ago and found only CG images of the desk / person using it, as well only comment reviews, nothing like this. Luckily for me, the developer was quick to refund me the money when I requested cancellation, went for Uplift and have loved it. Knowing that he's shipping now after 5 years of development / pre-orders is good, but it should be noted.
“Shame? What shame?” Girl you crack me up! And just so you know, I’m watching this while sitting on the floor, per your influence. I’ve also tried sleeping on the floor for a few hours at a time. I have a 3” memory foam pad for napping kids & I’m short, and it works reasonably well. Surprisingly comfortable, and back and neck pain is less. So thank you! 😊
i used to play on floor as kid, i would even do my homework, 1. because it was cool, helpful during summer and 2. i loved sitting on the floor. Even at school I'd miss sitting on the floor. idk when you're on the floor, the rooms feel bigger than it is and when i stand up i feel like a giant lol
Hahahahha! One thing I enjoyed about sending my kids to Montessori was they were allowed to work on the floor. They had little cloth workmats they could unroll and then place their work on. There were no assigned desks and most activities took place on the floor
I just attended a two day movie marathon event and one of my knees started to wicked hurt! I’m only 25, and I’m going into a career which will strain my body if I don’t take care of it. I’m very interested in your channel, and thank you youtube for finally winning with the recommendation lol!
Oh yay for RU-vid bringing us together but boo for your knee… but yes it’s not too late!! I actually feel better now than I did at 20, just based on what I’ve been able to discover the past few years so yeah not too late at all ♥️♥️
I'm very very jealous, this looks so so good. The only thing that jumps out to me as being a wee bit uncomfortable after a bit of time, is the curved monitor and laptop off to the side. You could mount your laptop under the desk in clamshell mode and have a portable monitor sitting directly under your curved monitor. Keep up the good work, I don't think it's actually possible to develop back pain when your feeding your back with so much diversity of movement :)
Thanks so much for the suggestion! Yeah I'm still figuring out my monitor setup, my hubby does have desk clamps and such but I shall continue to explore and optimize over time. Appreciate you watching!
I used to have a standing desk at a former job and tried it for a few days at 8 hour shifts. The legs get really sore, the feet get numb and sore. It is good if you need to work but are falling asleep though😂. It definitely keeps you awake. The bouncy ball in my opinion is the best version!! I've heard many years ago about it and how it strengthens the core.
I found having a standing pad makes a real difference for standing for longer periods. I don't stand for more than an hour at a time mind so I couldn't imagine being stood still for 8 hours at a time. Saying that I have been trying to persuade my work to invest in a sit/stand desk for me in the office, but they are not convinced and while I have a comfortable chair I do still like to be able to stand once in a while even if it is only for a few minutes at a time. At home however I am sorted!
Oh my God, I love you! Your energy and how you deal with sort of negative comments... you are an inspiration! I had a few tries with floor and standing desks with treadmill, but not interchangeable one! This desk is perfect ❤
You inspired me to eat my meals and watch some tv while sitting on my yoga bolster in different positions. I also start my morning work that way too. All the squats have quickly restored some of my range of motion.
setting up your environment to promote encourage more movement and better posture is a game changer - standing is good - floor sitting is good - chair sitting for too long is not good More standing more floor sitting and moving Less chair sittingj Floor sleeping has greatly improved my sleep pattern - I only occasionally go to bed late now
The best position is tge next position I like that 😊 I actually started to realise I was uncomfortable, aching when I was listening to you & started moving & stretching, thanks for the inspiration & Happy Birthday for yesterday Tasha 🎉😊
Omg just came from your previous DIY floor desk video . Crazy how fast things move in just a few months! Love all the neat tricks for adjusting your position in all the different heights ❤❤ the universe will send a treadmill your way I'm sure of it 😂
So thanks to your videos, I got rid of the chair I used at my sit-to-stand desk! So I am sitting on my futon which gives me many more movement options. Since I teach fitness, I so understand the need for “a body in motion to stay in motion”. Also, thanks to your awesome videos, I will get a monitor and not just use my laptop monitor. Thank YOU and do keep creating awesome content!
I absolutely love this! I always felt like I had to choose between a traditional desk and floor sitting due to space. This desk definitely solves that.
Love your enthusiasm and congrats on getting a sponsor! I remember seeing the crowdfunding of this desk years ago and always had it on my want list, but I it got too expensive when it finally released. I currently have a sit to standing desk for my computer and a big Korean folding floor table for when I do crafting and art. Maybe one day I'll get this desk to make a more cohesive workspace, hopefully your code will still work. haha
It makes me so happy that you could do a review of the desk, I always move a lot when I'm sitting in my chair and when I saw your other video about sitting on the floor I felt like it was a great idea for me, but with this desk I feel like I could have it all!! I'm thinking a lot about buying it, the only thing that hurts me is the shipping price to Chile jajajaj
Really loved this. With my MS I can be quite sedentary, I think having the diversity would really help me when I’m editing my videos. Yay for standing more 😂
The summersault out of bed, Oh Tasha! 🤣 I love this desk so much. You are definitely onto something with your healthier living lifestyle. We need a little more with the Olympic rings, please. This was a fantastic video!!! ❤
Hahahaahahahahhaa I don’t have anymore tricks yet to show off for the rings but you are right I’ll try to find a way to incorporate them anyway lolllll. Much love to you
Have you seen Uplift desks? They don't go quite as low (~23") but also have a keyboard tray option to go lower. And there is the option to get a hammock to take a nap...hanging from your desk! I went to look at Uppeal as I like the idea of being able to work on the floor (though still new to the floor sitting movement, yes pun intended!). I figured I would try my uplift and see how far it goes. Turns out I don't need to spend more money, I can use what I already have. Win, win! So if anyone already has a sit to stand desk, you might want to see how low it will go. Next step for me is to bring my futon in here and sleep under my desk proper!
you are most welcome! I've had it for a few months now and it's been amazing. if you are wanting to explore floor desk movement more, maybe try a breakfast or laptop table on the floor to start if you haven't tried it out yet. and then if you feel like it's great to add to your range of motion, this desk is waiting for you ahahahaha
Ok I came from your video about the floor desk, and I was curious about the difference of benefits with a standing desk and BOOM, a video about a floor-to-standing desk! 🤣 This is just handsome!!
@@fessedelynx9245 hahahahaha yeah it’s all crazy to me bc I randomly decided to share my floor desk on here and then for some reason that video blew up, then I found out about this floor to standing desk and somehow ended up getting sponsored. It’s been a wild ride lolll! Glad you are here!
My home office houses a table about the size of a tv tray that has a lever to move up and down and i constantly shift my laptop height. I also have a low floor table and a treadmill laptop attachment. Like you im constantly moving (even have a pull up bar in the doorframe!) I agree 100% that just standing is no bueno. Its movement that truly matters. I remember when i got a standing desk years ago it was recommended to me that i roll a tennis ball under my foot so i still remember to move SOMETHING, because standing still is not much better then sitting still.
I'm so glad you talked about the time it takes for the table to switch heights and what you do in the meantime because that was one of my concerns. I just don't feel like waiting haha. But I do also have a hanging bar so playing around with that while you wait is a great idea. I do also have a treadmill desk but I realized I can't do computer work while walking because I get motion sickness haha but I have seen lots of people use it successfully. Now I'm trying to take walks every half hour to every hour so it's still useful. I hope you can get one to test out! You mentioned this is the only electric floor to sit to stand desk. Do you know of a manual one? Cuz that would be super cool.
Oh wow you have a treadmill, I'm sorry to ehar about the motion sickeness, i didnt' realize it could happen in that case but it's good you still walk every so often, that's definitely great! I think there's a manual desk I saw but I can't remember how to find it.... it had like holes and slats so you could pull the desk out of one slat and then insert it higher or lower.... there's also like small breakfast-tray tables you could set up on the floor but then also set up onto a regular desk for added height. that's what I used to do a few years ago actually... it was a bit ghetto but it worked at the time... but I really like this desk that I have now LOLLL
Hmm, maybe I shold also made myself a flour-standing desk ahhahae, but I like simplicity of just floor one. And I love this chair with a back! I am thinking what to do when I just wanna watch something in the evening and just be loose, and this looks great!
Recently I sold my big desk and get a custom-made floor table (basically a coffee table), I absolutely love it. I do like the concept of Uppeal adjustable desk, however the minimal height 15.7" is still too high for my needs (mine is 12.6").
That desk is perfect for you. Love all the extras you have floating around the room to assist in your movement. I am one that has mobility issues, my days of getting up & down on the floor are long gone. It is, what it is! I haven't forgot about sending you rental photos, just currently busy dealing with rental issues. Well....not really issues, but the AC isn't working correctly, but I personally think it "user" error. It's been a real hassle to find a company with the exact freon that my unit requires. Many phone calls, gathering information and researching new units, just a little overwhelmed at the moment. It's all good, we'll get there. Another rental experience to share.
AC issues are not fun! My property manager for my one far away house told me I need a whole new unit and I was like noooooooo! I sent my own hvac guy down there and he fixed it lolll thank goodness!!! The unit is on the older side but he said it still has plenty of life! Glad he made it down there for me even though it’s a bit out of his service area!
Standing for an extended period of time kills my knees. So a standing desk was never that appealing to me. I move around loads while working so I love the idea of having so many options with a desk like yours
Movement is key! Movement is built into my workday but I realized I was quite sedentary at night. Now, I don’t sit in a chair to watch tv because it forces me to move every few minutes.
Since I cannot afford it, I pick up a small overbed table and place it on the floor, and stand up occasionally. unfortunately I get too much neck pain while sitting without support on my back. I loved the desk though!!
My mother’s birthday is June 26th too! Happy early birthday to you. Also…I am big on minimalism but your videos give me envy just because you have such cool stuff. But I don’t need the cool stuff because things work even if they are not perfect! Good for you, and good for me!
I’m so glad you introduced me to this. Thank you! Had no idea they existed! And it’s way less expensive than I expected, praise be💃🏾 I am curious to know your height and/or if you think it’s tall girl friendly!? I’ve never had a standing desk. And happy belated birthday ♥️✨🥳
Hi I’m 5’9” and when I have the balance trainer under me it adds around 5-6” to my height. The desk went up high enough to accommodate me with the trainer, probably that’s 1” below its max height of 47”. Without the balance trainer I have the desk set to 40” height. Yeah I had no idea this existed until I did research and I’m glad I found it!! Thanks for the greetings and for watching! Let me know if you end up getting it!
Love that desk! Thank you for trying it out. I have a sit-stand desk which I love, but this is next level! ❤ Thoughts about the Floor Chair with back? I had this in my basket for a while, but have not made the leap. Thank you!
Love your video, thanks! I've been using a sitting/standing desk and the QOR360 Ariel 2.0... but can't work from the floor with my current setup. Great advice on how to do this!
I have thought about it but want to make sure it’s easy to clean bc it will be one more thing to worry about! Do you have any suggestions for where to get a decent rug hahahaha
@@natashatheresa definitely look at their more premium options though. My dad bought one and it was really thin. You definitely want the thicker rug pad!
lol I have 3 kids under 5, and I just realised a standing desk is perfect to keep my kids out of my things 😂 well perfect until they figure out how to play with the settings 🙄
You should be! You really made me laugh. I do like your energy so much. I keep my fingers crossed four you in receiving some kind of threadmill for your desk as well! You deserve it with your great content!🎉
Love love the desk Natasha! You are such a gem! I love your humor! Love how you're keeping movement top of mind! I'm 6ft do you think I can stand and not have to slouch or bend if I get one? Again, thanks for sharing this because I want one, but am worried about the height issue. So much love...cheers to your new lens 💕
Thank you McLynn!! I am 5’9” so not too far behind you! I put the balance trainer under and I think it gave me another 4-5 inches of height so I would say it should be just fine for you! When I get home though I’ll double check bc I don’t think that the desk was alllll the way up yet even with the balance thing under me.. but I’ll check. Maximum height is around 47” if you want to try measuring that out as well. I shall report back when I am home in afternoon hahahaha
@@mclynnbanks okay with the balance trainer o was 1” from the top most height (46”). Without the balance trainer, my standing desk height is 40”, so still 7” to spare going up. With the balance trainer I think my height increased 5-6”
Ooh I just asked this🤭 I should have read thru the comments before asking if it’s tall girl friendly! Thanks for the question and answer, my fellow talls 🥰
Hey there, tall internet friend! Do you have a technique for reminding yourself to change positions? Or is it just triggered by feeling like you need to move? We (me and my hubby, who has to stand and walk all day) darkly joke that my job is killing me... 😂 ...but for reals, I sit all day! I'll get all focused and sucked in to what I'm doing, so I need something 🤔 to remind me to move around! ❤
Hi tall internet friend!! I personally have been ok but there are apps you can get that can do like intervals and beep every so often. Like interval training apps maybe hehehehehe
Wrist/arm/shoulder-wise, how is the adjustment from 12.5 to 15 inches? I just wonder how it feels ergonomically when using a keyboard for extended periods. I sort of wish it went just an inch or 2 lower, but maybe 15 is just right?
This is so random but what socks are you wearing haha, you mentioned in a previous video that you switched to barefoot shoes (would love a vid on this by the way) and was wondering what the socks to wear with barefoot shoes are. Great video by the way 😊
I have toe socks! Everyone thinks I’m weird but it’s so great bc my feet don’t get sweaty and my toes can easily spread out hahahhaha! I def will be doing a video on this in the coming weeks! I will put a link to my go to toe socks once I get home!

@@Phoema21 hahahahaha weddings is like a whole thing but I did my best to set myself up for clients who I really would work well with who trusted me… when I was able to acquire clients I really jived with who let me make the timeline and plan out the portraits properly, then it was quite enjoyable and they referred me to others like them :) but I didn’t want to keep committing my weekends to weddings esp when I got two kids so I gave it up in 2018 haha
