I agree. You get more paint on the wall and use fewer strokes. 2.5 brushes leave uneven streaks.

Got to agree with you there chief. See plenty of painters that leave work like that. Very thin coat almost looks like it’s not been touched. Only makes finishing coats look piss poor. Not clever. Same dudes have their ceilings the same. Put plenty of material on, don’t roll it out dry. Dafties.

Water based is a different method than oils .A lot try stretching the acrylic out like oils . Acrylic should be loaded up and layed off .As you do kind sir

Can you not load up oil based the same way?

Yeah you're right , pile the u/c on, cos u can always rub it back lightly if u don't tip it off properly

worn in 3 inch. didnt think there was any other way. so many painters leave their woodwork too thin. Most finished plots are redecs once the site agent finishes with them. walls and ceilings are normally ok its always the satinwood. 1 coat just isnt enough fellas?

Johnstones aqua undercoat on new MDF well worth it, any top coats slide on.

I find a 2.5 faster and less hassle on the wrist on anything other than old houses with bigger skirtings etc

Do you not find you get runs using a 3 inch. And maybe that guy was using a worse quality of paint

Nah, if you're using water based paints on woodwork you should be using a Staalmeester brush or Picasso. Also, doesn't matter how thick you apply it a shit brush will do a shit job and quite frankly new wood is always a four coat system.. if your professional and doing it properly so it doesn't matter too much. But dump that Hamilton, get a real paint Brush. lol
