Blackberry made the best productivity device. The hub, the red LED notification light and it handled better 15 years ago than current phones do today. True push email and a file system that made email attachments a breeze.
@@remi82 Tbf you can still have the values of a tech minimalist even if you're trying to go through a new phone every two months to try to find the one that fits your needs the most. It's better than getting a new iPhone Max Proussy ever year anyways if you don't need one.
i use an Iphone SE since 2016 and has since become the last phone of my life. Can't imagine another phone that has the same level of "sweetspotness" that this specific phone has.
I had one two years ago but it broke , does it still have updates ? I know it had before i stopped using it , it was really powerful for an old phone ( i played genshin on it too 😂)
@@NXRIIIIIi have an iphone SE 2016 too, so i can tell! the latest iOS that can be downloaded is 15.8.1 and it works great! (this includes widgets) i really like SE cuz it's inexpensive and easy to repair. as a person who doesn’t understand technology at all, i was able to disassemble the swollen phone and replace the battery MYSELF!! i think after such joint trials, i will not part with SE until death therefore, if you are thinking about buying, i recommend it!! AND I PLAYED IT IN SEKAI!!!!!! (i have not idea how it work with genshin, cuz I have a 32GB version..)))
@@NXRIIIII Work gave me a locked down iPhone 12 so I still carry my 2016 SE as a personal daily driver. Bought in 2018 for $200CAD and it was a 128G one! I love it. Smaller than a mini. yes, still getting updates from Apple.
Hey again James, happy Friday dude. Hope you had a nice week, and enjoy the weekend too. I’ve never used a blackberry phone before. Always used iPod touches when I was a teen in the mid 2010s. And then iPhones ever since
1:14 Actually the Key2's headphone jack should some pretty good, it has an AKM4376 DAC! It's a little known fact, someone on 4PDA found out after doing a teardown. I tried linking the thread in a previous comment but it was deleted by RU-vid.
i have been using blackberry z10 since 2014 it died in 2023 but it was great i just used it for calls thats it. i dont have any social media accounts just living life peacefully
Blackberry never dies, they just switching their bussines from mobile devices manufacturer into Cyber Security services provider for big company, even apple uses their cyber security service.
That's an elegant design right there. At least it's different and it has its own personality. I also use an old phone with an outdated Android, but what matters is that your apps still get updates, including the web browser, web engine, and other stuff from Google.
In fact I used BlackBerry as an organizer and alarm clock for a while until it died It was wonderful I feel sorry that we no longer see any new versions of it :(
I think he meant that it's so weird to be posting yourself on youtube while cutting off social media. he's not talking about just limiting internet usage.@KubrickNapoleon
I don't speak programming or electronics or computer so I didn't understand one bit 😍😍 i came hear because I was studying with one of your old streams and wanted to see if you're still okay :) and it seems you are doing good :] happy that you are happy and please do upload more videos if u can ! Have a nice day
If you are using browser in it it's not safe, android 8 is vulnerable AF at this point, I would recommend using latest android with no social media apps.
Hey bro how are you? I was happy to see the upload notification ♥️ How’s life after college? Do you plan to do a project? Anyway good luck with whatever ur doing and my best wishes to you and ur family ❤
hey man I wanted to ask how you spend your leisure time, do you ever binge-watch shows, or play games on weekends? I tend to have one day a week allocated to bugging out but I wanted to ask how you allocate free time.
If you desperately want a keyboard you can also consider the Unihertz Titan, Titan Slim, or Titan Pocket. They come with Android 10 or 11, which is probably their only advantage over the Key2. Otherwise, the build quality is mediocre, their chipsets are quite slow these days, the software has none of the in-built Blackberry suite features present on the Key2, and the Titan Slim even has the audacity to have no headphone jack.
Went for a Titan Slim nearly a year ago after my Key2 suddenly stopped living, has done me well so far, would recommend, only problem so far is a small patch of dead pixels 🤞
Nice. Samsung used to have attachable qwerty-keyboards for Galaxy S and Galaxy Note models. It worked like magic: no BT, no Battery, nothing. Just attach it to the lower part of your screen and UI changes, OnScreen keyboard disables, and you are ready to go. Kinda sad they don't do that anymore.
Yo i feel like james videos have gotten like more and more I don't know what to call it like more reachable and he is enocrporating more product shots and like yeah he also I don't know why but todays video was like very nice um yeah all his videos are nice but today's is just even better and also love the new audio like how his voice and stuff sound it has been like this for a while now but its nice for sure.
Cool, review! The idea of using Emacs on a phone sounds really cool -especial with Org mode. But, as i learned with my feker alice98 keyboard the limitations between keyboards can be awkward.
the title and the end of the video are like opposite 💀 device looks dope tho! i love my dumb phone, but not something i can type notes in or manage time with a calendar sadly
I've thought about the key 2 I have a passport, my only issue is the lack of security updates even if i don't really do much on my phone other than calling
I swapped my smartphone with an AGM M7 last year and it was one of the best choices I've made, i can only do 2 things with it, contact family/friends and listen to music. I still got my smartphone at home but I solely use it to check my banking and stuff like that.
my favorite is the passport. with its 1:1 screen. i use the surface duo now because of 3:4 i feel i could do more productivity in these aspect ratio. from emails to quick edit docs
Remember when having a qwerty keyboard on a phone was preferable to they on screen keyboard. Now on screen keyboard is so good I wouldn’t touch a phone with a built on keyboard
Even though the device lost support from the manufacturer. It’s still supported by google play services. That means you still get security updates. I think devices all the way back from android 5.0 is still supported.
Maybe there is basic beginner level coding but not professional work. It's just that coding is going to be more efficient and fast. There's no way to quit coding right now.
The president of a company that develops hardware for artificial intelligence (GPUs to process the large language model database) said that it is no longer necessary to learn how to program. Literally, the guy is promoting his product and nothing more than that.
