Why I want to see this Megatron again - Transformers Animated 

He’s the Megatron with the most brain cells.

The Unicron Trilogy started the "Megatron being an elegant bully" thing but Animated perfected it.

"And to think you actually believed you could take over as leader of the Decepticons. You couldn't lead a parade."

He's one of the few TFA characters that scared me as a kid. He's not a typical kids cartoon villan, he actually seems like an actual threat, like you actually think he'd be able to murder the protagonists.

This is THE best Megatron. HE SPENT A SEASON AS A DAMAGED HEAD AND WAS A THREAT TO ALL THE HEROES. When he was repaired, he was almost unable to be resisted.

Animated Megatron is my favorite incarnation of Megatron ever. He was charismatic, evil and enjoyable every time he showed up.

In animated he was a threat, not an obstacle unlike other characters or in other shows

Megatron has been a lot of different things. A miner, a writer, a poet, a revolutionary, a conqueror, a tyrant....

He's like Cyberton Megatron but more refined

Megatron will always be my favourite, but Corey Burton's Megs? Man spends the entire first season as a giant paperweight, yet *stays* a threat and continues to level-up on the danger scale. 10/10 Banger design too.

I'm starved of Animated content

I love the part when his eye twitched when Lugnut is complimenting his own master, he's getting tired of his BS everytime, he should've punished him for some privacy

Easily one of my favorite Megatron. You see him as a freedom fighter that struggle against "Autobot tyranny" like Robin Hood but evil, and plus what other Megatrons have fail is kill Starscream on his first betrayal. Here's hoping the Nickelodeon's Transformers we see a similar Megatron to Animated Megatron.

This Megatron displays many traits of a competent (and by extension dangerous) leader. He only speaks when he feels it necessary, giving out only as much information as necessary. He does not need to raise his voice or yelling to get the attention of his troops. He generally only acts when it is beneficial to him and his goals - even, for the most part, his grudge with Prime was to simply remove an annoying (and even insulting) threat to his power. He even removes those that would interfere with his plans before they can continue to do so (although Starscream was lucky to have a certain something to save him). His power is never REALLY undermined, with the show constantly displaying him with both physical prowess and (when he was left alive as only a head) strategic mind and ruthless cunning. All these things make him a GENUINE threat throughout the series, and I love it. I have another favourite Megatron, but this incarnation is a close second.

Animated Megatron is THE dominating force in Transformers Animated. Nobody could be considered an equal or threat to him, not Optimus, not Starscream. Other versions of Megatron get a bit obsessed with Optimus, and there's usually a bit to write about each of their relationships with their Starscream, but Animated Megatron brushes everything off. Starscream and Optimus are no more than insects to him. He doesn't even acknowledge Optimus' existence until Optimus shows up swinging the Magnus Hammer. You're very right that there's a cold elegance to this Megatron.

The Animated Megatron is the Megatron I want to see in the new live action reboot. That feeling of anger, but he's always in control; using his anger as a weapon but not allowing it to control him. I also want him to be an absolute powerhouse who answers to absolutely nobody.

Since Megatron was a bit weary of Ultra Magnus, I'm curious to see how Megatron would do in a fight against him.

Megatron in Prime had some small Aspects of the Shakespeare style, but animated has a forked Silver Tongue, he puts the Deception in Decepticon

i could imagine in a future series were in the begining of the war he was more like the warmonger gladiator who is more shoot ask later trought flashbacks, and later it would show how he becomes more like his animated version and being more cold and tactical.

Megatron on any other show was a daily occurrence. Animated Megatron was an event.

I loved how his cybertronian form was ALWAYS cast in shadow. You never really got a good look at it. It made him look more intimidating and scary, which Megatron was always intended to be. And in some other shots, his protruding helmet would cover his mouth in some angles, or the shadows would only show his silhouette and eyes. I just loved how imposing they made him. The animated show had some weird character designs, but Animated Cybertronian Megatron still remains my favorite look for the character

I actuslly think the pre-earth mode was awesome, it blended the best of both, but i love the Earth Mode more, and i do like the well-spoken, shakesperian take on the character, and this one actually had the balls to kill the screamer, which defenitely puts him a leap above

I love this version of Megatron and I think that we should see more of him even with his Maruader Form and it still needs to happen to this day.

He has always been my favorite Megatron too, one of the only truly threatening and calculating Megatrons out there

On the subject of Corey Burton's voice for Megatron: early leaks for Animated described Megatron as being a lot like Scar from The Lion King. I can definitely see where that description comes from, especially in the scene where Megatron is convincing the Constructicons to join his side. Corey's voice is actually a perfect one to emulate when voicing Megatron, specifically if said Megatron has more nuance to him like in IDW.

This version and the Prime version will always be my favorites. The G1 Megatron would be begging for his life going up against either one.

I grew up with 3 versions of Megatron since I was a kid. The original G1 Megatron, Movie Megatron and Animated Megatron. Out of all the 3, Animated Megatron is my favourite, his aircraft vehicle, how terrifying he is, everything I really love as a child back then. Imagine if he actually fought Ultra Magnus, that would be awesome.

Personally armada megatron is my favourite megatron, but animated is up there. He’s super smart, he powerful, has a buildup, and was hard to beat

This is perhaps the best version of Megatron I've seen. He's cold, ruthless, very terrifying to look at, and he presented a huge challenge the show was building toward. Without him, we wouldn't have Prime Megatron who was, in many ways, like this one but used differently. And we also wouldn't have Cyberverse Megatron doing like Animated and killing Screamer

Animated Megatron is the best reincarnation of the OG Megatron. Calm, collective and more badass.

_This_ is the Megatron I grew up with, and to be honest it kind of messed with my expectations for other versions of Megatron in the past and future. I could never really take Prime Megatron seriously when TFP first came out because he lacked that sauve commanding presence, he was kind of just this loud, brash, abusive jerk. Animated Megatron is a Megatron that could win people over with words just as much as he can with action, and I think that kind of character would be perfect for modern TF that frames Megatron as somebody who's as much of a poet as he is a warlord.

His Cybertronian design makes him look like ROTF Megatron. I love it.

We need Corey Burton back as Megatron. He has some serious potential

Animated and Prime are my absolute favorite versions of the character. Corey Burton did such a good job with him.

I love how the Decepticons in the animated series are actually OP and an actual threat, especially Megatron. The animated series is one of the reasons why I prefer the Decepticons over the Autobots.

Animated was very well done...after season 1. No one liked the human villains vs. Autobots. Then it ramped up. One thing I LOVED was almost every Decepticon is a brute, outclassing every Autobot. The narrative made sense. The eager Optimus wasn't ready for the Decepticon threat. A calculated, unfeeling Megatron. It was a great series. Wish we got season 4.

The main thing that separates TFA Megs from any other incarnation is that he has in spades what many other incarnations lack: Charisma.

He terrifying even his voice

I really want to see Transformers Animated Megatron pre earth form again.

This Megatron is kinda unique due to Animated's Optimus Prime the two of them in every iteration are supposed to be foils for each other Optimus here is supposed to be the unconfident and unsure of his ability to lead at the beginning and grow into a great leader so by contrast Megatron starts suave and commanding eventually descending into rage and obsession for beating Optimus.

I've been seeing alot of Animated throwbacks, either is youtube is doing a damn good job with recommendations or Hasbro is going to have something in mind for animated.

This Megatron reminds me of Count Dooku from the Clone Wars (2003 & 2008). Very elegant, manipulative and aristocratic, I like it!

Considering Megatron became leader of the Decepticons in this continuity by overthrowing the founder, Megazarak, he probably saw a bit of himself in Starscream, albeit an inferior version. After all, if the leader of Decepticons can't stave off treachery, they obviously weren't fit to lead. From Megatron's point of view, if you're going to make a power grab, you'd better make it count, because treachery requires no mistakes.

It's because he is so calm that makes him so scary. Because you don't know what he's going to do or say.

I hope transformers animated series would be revived and continuing so we can see more of megatron in show and how it’s actor has improved since he last voice

He and Prime are honestly some of the best versions of the character. They both finally get the threat that he's supposed to have, as the leader of the entire villain faction. Not to mention, it's one of the best alt modes he's ever had for an earth mode

Animated Megatron's design was inspired to Super Megatron, you know the Galvatron that was buried beneath the iceberg and Dark Nova later revived and reborn him as "Super Megatron".

"I do not believe in luck!" And then he only survives the first season because he had Mega Luck. I wonder what that did to his perception of luck...

Prime megatron: kills random vehicons for one mistake, and kills 10 predacon babies in fear of them retailating, but doesn’t kill starscream after he tried to terminate him. Animated megatron: terminates starscream after the first murder attept and takes advantage and belives in the earth created bots, such as soundwave, the constructicons, and the Dinobots. Not to mention is actually proactive

Megatron should’ve believed in luck.

I like how Megatron in transformers animated in the first episode he looks like the live action Megatron from the Micheal Bay films but when he gets his new body he becomes the familiar Megatron from the G1 cartoon.

Any Megatron that can appear frightening without raising their voice is a good Megatron. Something I found very lacking in all the cartoon Megatrons that came after this.

I really like the autobot and decepticon differences in this series. I like that the deceptions fly and the autobot’s drive

This was the Megatron I basically grew up with. I grew up in the early 2000's and I shared my mom's love of Transformer's (even though she grew up the OG Megatron from the '80's, he was still a good villain for your typical 1980's cartoon). But this is was the incarnation of Megatron that sparked the love for Transformers for me and I'd watch it purely to see Megatron be awesome. There's so much that set TFA! Megatron from his other incarnations like Prime, Armada, Etc. I don't all about what his character is like in Armada, but from what little I saw of him (which, admittedly, is not much save for a few small clips.), he's more or less the reluctant father figure for the Decepticons. In Prime, he was more of a brutish gladiator hellbent on having the raw power to just raise an army. This version of Megatron though? He really embraces the Shakespeare-esque qualities that you'd typically see. The mere fact that he sees about 99.99% of Autobots inferior to him (the 00.01% being Ultra Magnus, aka the ONLY AUTOBOT he has ever feared (until Optimus took up Ultra's mantle), and probably for good reason.), just shows how much of a mechanical BEAST this iteration is. He's SCARY intelligent, patient, resourceful, manipulative, poetic, powerful, and you can tell that he's well-spoken and knows how to lead a group so dysfunctional as this version of the Decepticons. It's really no surprise that he's had such a big fanbase as a character, myself included in that bunch. While I liked his Cybertron look, I didn't really grow attached to it until I rewatched the series and we barely saw much of it. When I did rewatch it, I went: "Oh. That look is actually pretty cool.", but his Earth look is the one we always got used to seeing cuz we spent so much time with that look. I liked the callback with the classic look of his canon and his helicopter look is really cool and dynamic. And I think we can all agree that Coery Burton just SELLS Megatron's voice. He can be soft-spoken at times and probably has the ability to be gentle when he chooses to be and Coery absolutely delivers this with his lines. I would kill to see a series with this Megatron again and nothing can change my mind. While Prime's Megatron was my favorite visually, Animated Megatron will always hold a special place in my heart character-wise.

I've been watching IDW stuff on here recently, and whenever I'm watching things where someone isn't dubbing the comics I've been using Animated Megatron's voice in my head. The VA for Megs in Animated was amazing. Edit: Wait, people didn't like Megatron's Cybertronian mode and the body he had before he was rebuilt? I thought he looked badass, I've always been a bit upset that the only figure we ever got of that was an Optimus vs Megatron 2 pack, and that from what I've seen it wasn't that good a figure.

I watched the constructicons episode recently and it really showcases his cunning. I love this incarnation hands down my favourite! Large powerful clever and a constant threat . A treat to watch through and through.

The first version of Megatron that I was introduced to, as a little girl, was the Cybertron (Unicron Trilogy) version of Megatron. To me, in that series, Megatron was a classic villain from the Saturday morning cartoons. Fun to watch, but you still needed to remember that he posed a threat to the good guys. But… this version of Megatron? From Animated? This was the first Megatron to truly terrify me as a kid.

Now that i think about it, this is the scariest Megatron. In every other version, we always had Optimus to match Megatron. The yin and yang. But here, Optimus is young. He's not on Megatron's level, but by the end of the series, Optimus worked his way up to and maybe beyond Megatron's level

We just need more TFA in general.

I think being able to understand where this version of Megatron is coming from, and respect him as a competent leader, really added so much to my enjoyment of TFA. The conflict felt real, and the stakes felt high, instead of meaningless. There were consequences, serious ones, for the actions or inactions of the major characters. To see the characters themselves take their situations seriously, especially to see Megatron taking leadership of the Decepticons seriously, was awesome. * casually swirls twisted oil barrel wine glass *

What I love about Animated Megs most is just how manipulative he can be. How he manipulated the Professor, and particularly how he did so with the Constructibots/cons. While the Autobots treated them as outcasts and sent them off because they misbehaved, Megatron allowed them into his secret lair, gave them drinks, and treated them like any other Decepticon. Had they not befriended Bulkhead, they likely would be about as loyal to Megs as Lugnut. Heck, if Lugnut brought that garbage bot back to Megs (and Megs found some way the idiot could be useful), Megs likely would have done the same.

Though I prefer Beast Wars and Prime Megs, this one is probably a close third.

Not only were the Decepticons bigger in this series, but they also used guns and bombs, where as the Autobots did not.

Definitely the smartest Megatron in the history of Transformers series

One day, we will be able to see the ultimate incarnation of Megatron, a combination of 1. The brutality and intimidation of Prime Megatron 2. The commanding aura and cold personality of Season 1 Animated Megatron 3. The charisma and cunning of Beast Wars Megatron 4. The dead serious, evil personality of Beast Machines Megatron

I did not realize it until I was rewatching Blitzwing moments, but Lugnut and Blitzwing are comic relief. Yeah no shit they are hilarious, but they are also threatening. When they show up it is actually a mystery of how the Autobots will handle them this time. As best I can remember the Autobots only actually beat them 4 times. 1. With the help of Omega Supreme's weapons (They won't fall for the same trick twice) 2. Exploiting very specific weaknesses (Again won't work twice) which they easily got back up from 3. Blurr slapping stasis cuffs on them (To be fair who can prepare for that) 4. Optimus tricking them with the reverse freezing trap These were all tricks and traps. Actually the only Decepticon that was ever defeated legit was Megatron in the finale.

Animated megatron was the most unique megatron iny opibon unlike the other continuties this megatron was always calm, calculating, rarely screamed out in anger. He didnt need to scream and throw a tantrum like his other versions he did so threw his actions. One thing that seperates this megatron from the othrlers is the secoubd he cines back after starscream betrays him he offs him or at least tries to without giving him a secound chance cause he knows starscream will just wait to do it again.

Yeah, easily the coolest Megatron in my opinion. Corey Burton did a fantastic job making him sound menacing, he’s much more cool and collected than all the other Megs incarnations, he’s the biggest bada## of all the versions in battle and he was the *ONLY* Megatron to actually take Starscream out right off the bat! Prime Megatron was awesome too, but this is just the absolute coolest Megatron we’ve ever seen in a show.

I think the only times he reminds me of other Megatron's is when he's desperate and he throws out logic for vendetta. Other Megatron's hate Optimus to the point of self sabotage. This Megatron's so superior that he doesn't acknowledge him until Optimus finally broke that image of himself.

Not gonna lie while though I liked animated Megatrons Osprey earthmoving I actually like his Cybertronian alt mode a bit more especially in the dark you definitely can feel a dark presence and sense of dread coming off of him and even in a lit room he looked so intimidating and shear dominance really did wish I got the toy of him and the voyager Prime, but animated figures were such a pain to find and back then money was a bit rough during the time Animated was out

When it comes to the toy figures of this line, they have simple transformations (not complaining, just stating), including Megatron and he's a Leader Class. Ultra Magnus is also Leader Class, but his transformation is more complex than Megatron's.

Imagine if David Kaye actually voiced Animated Megatron.

From what I remember of Animated, this Megatron didn't have a lot of screen time; but what he did have was amazing. I just didn't have the energy to sit through an entire Season and a bits worth of show, to see him finally get a body. It's the same with TFP. We know they're bringing him back; it's just a case of when the writes decided now they should do it.

out of all the Megatrons in the transformers multiverse, this one looks the most one with brain cells.

This megatron has one big advantage: The acting classes.
