I have never felt compelled to comment on video on RU-vid before until stumbling across this particular one. I was raised as a Catholic, however It was also in a feministic household/environment . I went to Public high school, participated in cheerleading, parting etc. I was unfortunately never taught in depth about modesty, dignity, and femininity. I always was urged and praised to excel in school and college as well as the whole feminist mindset of thinking “I need to fit into society, in with my peers, accept the body positivity junk and that’s ultimately what will make me happy and attractive” -boy was I wrong! Fast forward to now, I am 20 years old, I have had a recent reversion in my Catholic faith, and I am overjoyed to have met the most incredible man (who I marrying this Aug :) who is a traditional Catholic. He gently and lovingly spent time explaining to me about how dangerous the feministic mindset is for women and especially for Christians and Catholics. I didn’t even realize how my life had been revolving around those feministic “values” for so long. People, and other men always commented on how good I looked in jeans or unisex immodest clothing, therefore I thought that’s what made me “beautiful”. My fiancé told me otherwise, and explained how my God given beauty and femininity is a gift from God and needs to be protected and nourished. I went from wearing immodest short skirts, shorts, skin tight jeans, low tops, etc to now completely wearing modest attire and only dresses and skirts. As of last night, I’m happy to say I don’t own a single pair of jeans anymore. If you’re young like me, please don’t be afraid of being feminine and guarding your dignity, your self worth with clothing who truly brings out your beauty. And ladies, let me tell you, there is so many very flattering, stylish, and beautiful dresses and skirts that are modest available right now! (They are hard to find, but not impossible:) Since I’ve begun wearing skirts and dresses everyday I’ve noticed a major change in how others treat me. So much more respect, compliments, and kindness. I made this change for God ultimately (so not to lead others into the sin of lust anymore) and out of respect for myself and my future husband. He calls me his diamond, and I feel truly blessed to have finally made the change and committed to this decision. My fiancé couldn’t be more happy for me and proud of me. He is striving to be a shining example of what real masculinity is in this messed up society, and I’m striving to be an example of real femininity. Please don’t be afraid to be feminine, beautiful, welcoming, and charming. We are woman, let’s be proud and thankful for that ♥️God bless

What about doing dirty and practical farm chores in a dress. Safety is important and if doing alot of walking about and heavier and more dirty practical tasks, it's dangerous and risky in a dress.
@lacioftheland5627
@lacioftheland5627 2 года назад
@@lepolhart3242 i use aprons to keep dirt off my clothes if I'm worried about it (but I'm usually not). There are ways to tie up the skirt to keep it out of the way if you need to climb a fence or something like that. And walking isn't a problem. I do have work dresses ones that look nice but hide dirt because of the pattern or color. Also they are thrifted so If I rip a 6$ dress I won't be too upset about it. I'll just patch it and wear it again.

@@lacioftheland5627 General housework, and some farm work will be fine with dresses but I've gone hiking up and down steep mountains, gone horseriding, cycling up and down steep hills. It's impossible to wear dresses, skirts safely in these activities. My old riding instructor would never allow any horseriders to wear a skirt or dress. It was strictly joghpurs or leggings as even jeans were not allowed. She had the final say as it was her horses we were riding. Even women in the 19th century who worked in physical jobs wore trousers underneath their skirts for modesty and practical reasons.

I remember always refusing to wear pants as a little kid, I would only wear skirts and dresses. As I got older, I started to, but something about jeans or pants of any sort honestly never appealed to me. When I wore skirts and dresses I immediately felt happier, prettier, more like myself. Everyone teases me for always wearing dresses, but I don't even care because I like it so much:) This is a great video💕

This resonates deeply with me. I recently have switched to wearing skirts and dresses only due to comfort and having a romantic body type like you. They just look so much better on me and are far more comfortable than jeans. What I have found through this natural transition is a deep happiness and I am truly reveling in my femininity. I put bows, ribbons, or sparkly hair combs in my hair every day. I sleep in white flowy nightgowns that look like they came right out of a Jane Austen novel. Since I started this change, I now get ready EVERY day instead of bumming around in my pajamas or sweatpants. I look forward to picking out a cute outfit and beautiful accessories every morning. It has awakened something in me that I haven't felt since childhood. And like you, I've always heard the old "I wear skirts because they're modest." Funnily enough, I've always found pants to be more modest due to the "easy access" of skirts/dresses and the potential flare ups on a windy day. (My husband seems to agree with me. He's been all over me since I made the switch hahahaha) So modesty really has nothing to do with the switch for me... It's all about embracing my femininity and enjoying being a woman! Finding the same joy for dressing up that I had as a young child putting on my frilly dress up dresses and dancing through the garden. I loved hearing your perspective on it. Thanks for sharing :)

I have the same body shape as you and I completely stopped wearing pants, jeans, shorts over 12 months ago as I hated how they looked on me and I never felt feminine in them, I love wearing only skirts and dresses and love my romantic feminine wardrobe and with my pear shape I don't wear anything tight or fitted or shorter than my knees, one of my favourite RU-vid channel is inspired by Nikki and I love her feminine style, I have also been growing my naturally curly hair longer after realising that I hated my hair shorter and my husband loves my longer hair and style, in the UK winter I will wear thermal or fleece tights or leggings and boots with my skirts and dresses as it can get very cold and frosty

Hello! This is the first video of your's that I have watched. I really liked a lot of what you said. I have been wearing only skirts and dresses for about 10 years now. I do wear skirts mostly because they are more modest. However, I absolutely agree that modesty does not mean hiding your feminine figure! Dresses in the 1920's where made to hide a woman's curves and make her look like she had the figure of a boy. So yes, we should dress modestly, but in a way that does not hide our beautiful, feminine shape. I really like how you said that transitioning to wearing skirts and dresses was an act of rebellion. Being a traditional, Christian person really is counter-cultural and rebellious these days. I can't wait to see more videos with only skirt and dress outfits! God Bless!

Hi, I found your channel when I was rewatching one of Cynthia’s videos and she gave you a shout out and I’m so pleased that I did. I have recently discovered the #femininity movement and taken more of an interest in what it means to be a feminine woman. I made the transition to wearing mainly dresses and skirts, usually accessorised by a brooch or hair flower approximately 12 months ago and I LOVE it! I do own a couple of pairs of dungarees and vintage style trousers, but they are not usually my first choice of clothing for the day. I look forward to your future videos and will take the time to watch your previous ones in the near future. Love Catherine 👗 xx

Great video! Thanks for the thoughts. I especially loved the part about honoring and enhancing my husband and his masculinity with my femininity, and dresses and skirts. ❤ Kilts are often used as an excuse, but kilts are not skirts! Women don’t wear kilts, women wear dresses, the kilts are for the men. Men can and have worn robes in different cultures, but the women had a distinct different kind of robe and dress. Always distinction between men and women.

I am a person of extremes as well. And I understand how it could be viewed as inconsistent and probably very irrational. But I also think that as long as we don't go into extremes in the very important choices like the choice of our partner (in the traditional sense of a lifelong partner), there is nothing wrong with that. I think the idea of living in extremes applies mostly to hobbies and parts of our lifestyle and not our core values and that is great. It means that we get to experiment with different things and with the extremes there is so much joy and passion involved that I would never want to miss it, even if in 6 months I have another hobby that I am completely obsessed about. (Of course I'm not saying that we aren't passionate about our core values. But I am saying that emotional passion isn't the reason we hold on to these core values.)

I've been typed Romantic body type, too. I'm 52 and 5'2". Currently almost 177 pounds.... I look much like you! I've cut my hair short because I've dyed it since I was 41-42. I'm ready to embrace my gray or silver and my natural hair colors. So, now I'm going to let my hair grow back out, from here. I'm also transitioning from 90 percent pants to skirts and dresses 95 percent of the time. I didn't grow up this way. My mother graduated high school in 1961 and has worn pants since I've been a child (the 70s). She used to wear dresses to church. I was never taught about modesty and Godly womanhood. Mom IS a lady, but I don't think she knows God's Word cause she doesn't like reading. She's in church every Sunday .......My dad is in church every Sunday, too. He never talked to me about being a woman of God ... Neither did my second husband. It is my third husband whom I've known for three full years today--- that brought my attention to how a Godly woman dresses. He wasn't bossy or mean about it. He asked a couple days ago what I was watching on my phone. I told him it was videos on modesty. For two days now I've worn skirts. He noticed. Bought me four tie dye tees in larger size than I usually wear. I wore one today with my skirt and he liked it.

Pants can be very feminine still if you wear a cute blouse and shoes plus accessories like earrings. That's what I do.

Man 46....wear skirts and dresses and completely understand your view...(it is not as supposed to be) But I always think people are free. I ask nothing more the nregular respect. I also wish more women would wear dresses...but thats not the case. I like it becasuse it looks so much more playfull than pants and hoodies. I would like a discussion about this with you.

I love that you are finding what you feel beautiful in and that it makes you feel confident in your identity!! While I think there are potentially some inherent 'biblical' trails of masculinity and femininity, I think when it comes to clothing and our outside appearance, most of it really doesn't matter. I personally love embracing my femininity by wearing dresses, skirts, and I also dream of one day being a homemaker along with some other traditionally feminine things, but I don't think Harry Styles wearing a dress or society moving to a more androgynous way of dress has to put our personal forms of expression at risk. I just feel like we all approach life differently and especially when it comes to material items, we all can have vastly different interpretations and meanings for them. While dressing traditionally feminine by wearing skirts and dresses makes us feel feminine, it doesn't mean that Harry Styles sees himself wearing a dress in the same way. If we start to claim that men can't get away with skirts (implying that skirts are only supposed to be worn by women), then we start imparting our beliefs on other that (in my opinion) aren't biblical. As far as I know, the Bible doesn't specify the exact pieces of clothing that are inherently male or female. I'm still reading the Bible for the first time so I could be wrong! I hope this doesn't come across as negative, I just wanted to add to the conversation and to not shame anyone for dressing in the ways that make them feel like their true selves :)
@Ren382
@Ren382 2 года назад
Thank you so much for adding to the conversation! I completely agree that other's choices shouldn't put our person expression at risk, and societal associations with items of clothing change vastly as time continues to progress, and from culture to culture! However, while that change is in the process of happening, there are some associations with certain articles of clothing which remain relatively predominant throughout western culture as being "masculine" or "feminine." The removing of the line between the two goes against the biblical view of there being two separate and distinct genders. Thus, my point with this video is less about the clothing, as the individual intention behind the articles of clothing we choose. As society progresses towards an increasingly androgynous, gender fluid culture (whether or not this was Harry Styles's direct intention, which we have no way of knowing unless he states it), this was my reaction to his wearing what would traditionally be considered a quite feminine article of clothing, and my way of expressing my viewpoint and feelings regarding this increasingly androgynous shift has been through deliberately choosing increasingly feminine articles of clothing. I certainly believe that it is never for one to tell another what they can or can't wear, or to force my belief on another! Rather, this is my personal reaction to that societal push for the complete removal of gender. It's not about the clothes, but rather the signal being sent. As I said in the video, this is just my personal conviction for myself, and the way I am currently expressing myself! By the way, your comment did not come across negative at all, and I'm so glad you raised the points that you did so the conversation could be furthered and continue to develop through different lenses! God bless, and enjoy your Bible reading! The more you get into it, the more layers to each verse pop out at you, uniquely for you!! XO 💖

@@Ren382 Thank you so much for seeing my comment in that way and I love that we can have respectful dialogue like this to share our thoughts! Your personal conviction on this is 100% valid and I definitely don't want to step over that. It's important for all of us to have these conversations and be honest with ourselves in how they make us feel and how we are interpreting them. I guess the only thing I still have a different interpretation of is that even though certain articles of clothing haven't swayed between the genders, that doesn't mean those articles of clothing are therefore biblically tied to either males or females. I just feel like while God does specify differences between males and females, to me, it doesn't seem biblical to then relate that to anything that has just tended to be more of a male or female thing. I mean, historically, men have been expected to work outside of the home because common belief was that we as women were seen as property and not able to handle a 'real' job. I don't believe that is something that is or should only be attributed to men and women just because that's how things have gone for so long. I don't know, that's just where my mind is at right now and I'm 100% open to hearing other perspectives and widening my own! Thank you for putting content out and creating this space for us to grow together in Christ! I hope you have a great day! :)
@Ren382
@Ren382 2 года назад
@@allydidier791 of course! I agree that there are not biblically tied genders to specific physical things, and I think it is important to remember the freedom of Christ and that He doesn't want any of us to look like cookie cutter carbon copies of one another. My concern is always about the intention behind the action, more than the action itself! Again, thank you so much for bringing in these different perspectives! It has truly helped me to better understand and better explain (hopefully lol) my own thoughts on this!! These types of back and forth are so important, and I so appreciate that you took the time to write this out and engage in this conversation!

Man's clothes aren't the most comfortable for me, most of the times they don't fit or they are rough and restricting. I wear skirts to work and in public, I haven't bought pants in several years. Most of my skirts are below the knee, and sometimes i wear dresses that fall above the knee, i also love having more options when it comes to styles.

The only thing I disagree on this video is that Harry Style's dress was gorgeous, that was the gown of my nightmeres XD. I was more into pants growing up, I think part of it comes from some experiences I had as a child that made me see femininity as something bad, as a (older) teen I realized I was being a bit silly and just focused on what I wanted do and wear but I didn't like dresses or skirts, what changed for me was getting a new job, I had to use my wordrobe to it's full capacity, when I was "forced" to use the dresses and skirts that where rotting away in my closet I realized I liked them and how I looked with them, unfortunatly this kind of ruined pants for me XD

I am a Catholic and I think women look better in dresses and skirts because they accentuate their figures. I think women look better with feminine hairstyles too. I agree with you that it is a positive thing if women wear dresses and skirts modestly. The one thing I would disagree with you on though is that men can’t wear dresses and skirts full stop. I am heterosexual but I have always had crossdressing urges and suppressing them completely is not good for my mental health. Whilst I am not interested in wearing dresses or skirts in public and I am happy dressing and acting as a man most of the time I see no harm in dressing up in them in the privacy of my own home from time to time. I love the different styles & fabrics, I adore women and like feeling feminine. I am not in a relationship with a woman at the moment but if I was I would be open about my crossdressing urges because I know I would get caught out at some stage and I wouldn’t want a secret undermining the relationship. If she could not accept me doing a little bit of crossdressing when I am home alone then she would not be right for me.

Therr is nothing wrong in wearing skirts and dresses everyday if your lifestyle allows this but the reality for many women especially working class women is that we dont have this luxury when it comes to doing physical work which sometimes requires trousers for safety or is part of the uniform. If a woman goes hiking, horseriding, cycling, it would be immodest and dangerous not to wear trousers as its difficult to climb a mountain and do scrambling and hiking when wearing a skirt. A riding school won't even let you ride unless weaeing trousers. It's plain safety. Please consider those women that have to work for a living and do practical jobs to pay the bills as middle class women have more money and luxuries so don't need to do as much physical work.

For a past 2 months I started dressing up vintage in plaid style skirts and underneath good stockings and suspenders but like practical ones and when I have to wear trousers for my job I absolutely hate it. I never realised that skirts/ dresses can be so much more comfortable than trousers. I have short chunky legs and thighs and trousers are not flattering on me what so ever. Btw I’m a strong woman who knows what she wants and believe in freedom of choice for women and men but I still think that men are supposed to be men and women supposed to be women.

What is a romantic body type?? This sounds like a new term someone made up…. Jesus did not wear pants or slacks. And in Europe men were kilts which are skirts. Nope I don’t like men wearing dresses either, however there is a history. It’s something that you were taught that is “ wrong” for men to wear skirts or dresses. Men started wearing pants or trousers because of riding horses. Started in Asia in around 420-1000 BC. I love wearing dress.. only wear dresses in summer. Just sharing

Hello, Renee! Romantic refers to the Kibbe body typing system. I agree entirely about the history and culture surrounding dress, which is why I touch on it in the video. My point surrounding the video is regarding the intention of why we wear what we do, and thus is mostly geared around the current societal push towards becoming utterly genderless. I hope this clears some things up! Also, as a postnote, I have started wearing pants again, as I mentioned might happen in the video ☺️

Hi dear, I just wanted to highlight something you said regarding modesty depend on where you live. I don’t agree with that opinion of yours. The Bible said Jesus doesn’t change, he did the same yesterday and tomorrow and another verse says “….with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. ( James 1:17) because God doesn’t change so his word. Modesty it is the same wherever is your culture. People who belong to a kingdom look the same regardless of where they live.

and some men want to have that choice too. Society's not turning upside-down. Maybe man's pants will get larger and lighter and that's it, most men will choose pants I think. Also Harry's black dress (for men) in the Gardian 👀 suits his figure better than pants ✌🏽
@Ren382
@Ren382 3 года назад
@@moi379 The issue is less about the garment than the intention behind it. Given that this is a scripture-based channel, allow me to reference this: "A woman is not to wear male clothing, and a man is not to put on a woman’s garment, for everyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD your God" (Deuteronomy 22:5). If you do not believe in scripture, than by all means, this ought not apply to you! However, if you do believe in scripture, the command is pretty clear. Naturally, what is considered acceptable male/female clothing continually change over the eras and throughout history. In this current era, though, there is a consistent push to blur the line between male and female entirely, and that is what the heart of this video is pushing back against- the garments chosen are merely a tool for making the statement itself. Once again though, if you do not believe in the Bible's authority, than while you are entirely welcome on this channel, the standards being set forth are not applicable to you in the same way. I hope this cleared things up a bit 🥰

I love this video! I've just felt recently lead by God to switch to wearing skirts and dresses also. I feel empowered not only because it sends a signal that my husband wears the pants, but it's also a nonverbal protest of the blurring of the lines between male and female. God made humanity male and female. Period. And I think the differences in the two are beautiful. And I think they should stay distinct and not get blurred together. So yes by going traditional and wearing skirts and dresses only, I'm non verbally sending the message to God and the world that I believe in male and female and no inbetween and I embrace my femininity the way God made me.
