One thing that I just realized with the Airtag is that I can use it when I'm waiting for my baggage at the baggage carousel in the airport LOL. But I'm definitely happy with my Airtags! :)

Storytime…I left my keys in my Lyft ride, and thank you, Tim Cook, I bought the air tags. I lose my keys and wallet all the time, and these have been a lifesaver. I’ve had tile, and I will never go back.

Excellent video I learned couple of new things. I understand the location you receive when the tag is in lost mode is coming from the device that connect to it not from the tag itself. Probably that’s why we don’t get a more precise location in our find my app.

In the same way you replace seat belts or helmets after an accident, I think if you put one in lost mode for a couple of days you may not expect the battery to last a year. In any case the Find My can show you the battery level of your Airtag.

I prefer the louder speaker 1st and foremost and then the range of the Tile over the AirTags better features. I have rarely dropped/lost my keys in some random place. It's always a matter of misplacing my item at home. Also, with Tile you can page you phone, a feature I use all the time. Tile is better for me and I've been an Apple user since 93.

The AirTag is for Apple only, the Samsung SmartTag is for Samsung only. Thus, each lock you into their respective ecosystem, in my mind not good. There are good news, Tile tags and Chipolo tags are platform agnostic, thus not locking one into Apple nor Samsung. Also, both those devices have a considerably longer range and louder ring than AirTag. The Samsung SmartTag can be used for SmartThings as well and its button can be customized to turn off and on devices on the SmartThings network; a tremendous number of products work with SmartThings. Almost every review comparing AirTags and SmartTag place SmartTag far above AirTag; also Tile more often comes out better than AirTag. Compared to SmartTag and Tile's tags, AirTags hype and marketing does not add up to their function

I have tagged my gym backpack, one day i left it in the car after gym and forget to take it out. Later on my wife got a message on her iPhone after she took my car to the hair saloon with my backpack in the trunk saying that shes been followed with an Airtag. Nonetheless i love the Airtag because they are not reliant on GPS but rather on GPS data of the nearest iPhone. This means it can also be tracked inside a building and exact floor with the U1 chip.

I know I'm late to the comments but they are fantastic. I drive a Honda CRV 2001, which is the 5th most stolen car in the US. It's been stolen twice. First time I had a Tile inside the car and was able to find it but it was not pinging back quickly. Second time my car was stolen I had an AirTag in it. It was nearly pin-point accurate (I live in the Bay Area so lots of iDevices everywhere). I also got it back much faster than I had with the Tile. Tile isn't bad, but AirTags are better. My one thing I would say is I don't think I would put the AirTag into lost mode in the event of my car getting stolen again because I don't want the thief to be aware that the car is being tracked.

I bought the nice blue leather Airtag key ring . I hate how the ring is in-line with the tag. It should be a right angle so it doesn’t protrude out with the other keys/fobs :(

If I gave this to my grandmother who doesn’t have an iPhone and is 40 miles away would I be able to help her find lost keys/purse from my location if it’s associated with my apple ID and would we be able to utilize it that way without it going off every few minutes as it’s separated from my phone while I’m not with her? These are such a great idea! I’m getting one for my bike and one for keys.

Anyone have information about signal strength behind obstructions. For instance, if I put an air tag in a household box that gets loaded onto a Allied Moving semi with a ton of other boxes inside the trailer......will I be able to track it or will the signal be blocked? I don’t think so. I’ve noticed when you obstruct it like my car is always full and I can barely pick my tags up from not even 20 feet I’ll be right next to my car and it won’t pick up until like minutes. Sometimes I’ll have to literally go right by my car knowing I know where my stuff is just for it to tell me exactly where I put my stuff.

If airtags can do all this then surely the Uber expensive EarPods pro can also do this. With the big rechargeable battery they have in the main case surely it can ping every 15 mins also to update its location on your find my if nearby, or ping other iPhones to see if you’ve reported it as lost. At present the last location it shows is where they were last used which really, is pretty sub-par for something that expensive with the capabilities definitely there. If you do lose your EarPods having the last location the case was open isn’t going to be helpful if you’re out and about and they slipped out of your pocket 90 mins later.

AirTags are the most annoying Apple Product I’ve ever owned. My wife has one on her car key and on her house keys, we have been known to hang out together occasionally and you know what happens then don’t you!. Yes Apple says “Hey there’s an AirTag following you!” X 2 every single day. Guess what, you can only turn off the notifications one day at a time!!! OMG, what a terrible design, so now I have dozens of screenshots of notifications saved into the wonderful Apple Notes “in order to show them at the store” what a terrible design AirTags are! HELP!

Just so you know AirTags "ping" every 2 seconds. Any delay you see is a result from how Find My queries are done, for exemple: iPhones on the Find My network only report data from time to time.

I bought them and plan on returning them. The problem I have with them is a phone has to be really close to it for you to get a ping update. I put them on my cars and tested how close I needed to be to it for them to go off and it was like 10 to 15 feet. Not very helpful.

Hiding it inside your bike frame will ruin the connectivity/discoverability. Its been tested on another video. I suggest getting a water bottle holder that has a casing for the Airtag.

AirTags should help with one of the main problems with owning a bike, particularly in a large city-theft. It can help to locate that bike and perhaps even catch the thief. The hitch is finding a way to hide it on a bike without blocking the RF signal. Under the seat should work, but is rather obvious.

The only apple product I have is an iPad and that because I haven't find a good android tablet but my wife has an iPhone. She got a set of apple tags as a gift and I really tough they were just a gimmick, but they certainly are not. She put one in her purse, another in our car, one in our golden retriever collar and another in her laptop backpack. So far we lost the car once in the parking lot. We were sure we left in in the second floor but it was actually in the third floor. Our golden retriever decided to do do her anual escape and ran away from our back yard, probably following a squirrel or something. Instead of wasting a couple hours driving around yelling her name we were able to find her using the app. Lastly we were super worried because we couldn't find her laptop backpack. We searched in the car a few times, around the house and even called a coworker to see if pehaps she left it at the clinic. Until she remember that it had an apple tag, it instantly pinged in the car which we were like that makes no sense. It ended up been in the trunk in a second compartment. Honestly I don't think I would switch to iPhone anytime soon, not because Im an apple hater, but because I really can reconcile the idea of putting more than a couple hundred phones in a thing that I just use for whatsapp, fb and some times make calls. But I for the first time in a while was really impressed by this technology.

I think Apple is playing their cards close to their chest in terms of the privacy with good reason. If someone did want to slip an AirTag with someone without their knowledge, it would be a lot easier if they knew how all of the tracking and privacy worked. Keeping some info in private helps it from potentially being exploited

I bought these to track stolen goods - and your worry - tracking notification isn't frequent enough. I had a camera bag and my wife's purse stolen in Spain two years ago. Now these tags will be of no use because they will warn the thief before i have a chance to recover my property.

I have just purchased one , have the iPhone 8 but with iPhone 11 so much easier to locate, issue having at the moment is that it is unable to be scanned to identify item, have tried with different phones. I also believe now open to android users too.

I feel like the location is actually the iPhone’s location that is pinging the Airtag. 9 out of 10 location was not accurate because of the area I left it next to a hill. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UBpHoMarMZs.html I left my Airtag hidden outside as a way to monitor how often it’s visited.
