Hey!.. The term minority in social science is slightly different from literary and mathematical definitions. Simply put, it depends on the social status of a group of people in the society. Dalits (which include various castes and clans) make up 25% of the population and Brahmins are 5%. Still Dalits are classified as minorities because most of the wealth and power resides in upper castes. I'm not saying that we should focus on who oppressed whom; every country has a past with such forms of social interactions and system of governance. If trickles down to the present. It's better for the society if our neighbours prosper, be it the next door Muslim or Hindu, or countries across the world. I wish the interactions between countries and people are democratic rather than for just limited political and egoistic benefits. I hope you'll add more on minorities in your reading. Cheers!

They are crying because, unlike other countries, India gained Independence from the British as a secular democracy. According to its constitution, it is not supposed to be a 'Hindu' country. Religious extremism of any kind never brings any good to the common people. It's always the 'high-ups' who misuse religion to divide people so that they can have all the fun while the common people remain busy fighting each other.

Because It's not possible. Our leaders of past made this country equal for all without any official religion is to Unite the country in one identity. Any such step would threaten to India's unity. It's not just possible any way. India's punjab is Sikh Majority, kashmir and Lakshadweep is muslim majority, ladakh and Aravali are buddhist Majority and North East India is christian Majority. Beside a lot many Hindus will themselves oppose this theocracy including south india where There's strong Dravidian influence likewise how north india has this Hindutva influence. I'm a hindu as well but this step would break our country. India has prosperous future by keeping India's constitution in the way it is by a democratic model of treating everyone equally and following pluralism without any official religion or any national language.

Secular means a atheistic government. India never had any official religion from the very first day of India's independence. Watch out what sardar Vallabhbhai Patel himself said on the Idea of theocracy in india as mental disease. India's preamble on each part itself reflect secular belief. India's constitution or the government was not affiliated to any religion from the very beginning. Which itself terms the country secular. Did india had any official religion since 1947? No. This itself satisfies the definition of secular state. Infact before Indira Gandhi, India had three former muslim presidents. So Stop this argument. India's founding leaders never even considered of making india theocractic. Orelse watch out the 14 vows of Babasaheb Ambedkar. And lastly name a single part of India's constitution from 1950 which says India's a dharmic country? If you ever go through India's preamble of constitution of 1950, it's exactly defines secular government definition. So Stop this lie as if india was a Theocratic country since 1947. And using fancy idioms like is was and will won't make your argument sensible. I'm a law student by myself.

The minimum selling price we are demanding is still less than the average fruit and vegetable price of last 5 years. or we want corporations and middlemen to get out of our way. various european counties have direct from the farm market for low cost fruits and vegetables . it is not possible in India as the government is busy filling the pockets of billionaires than helping us farmers.
