Best of luck - Iran has always been a sad story for me, a European, because it's culturally and geographically such an interesting country, and you'd want them to be more of a part of the world you live in, it's like a transition to Asia, a missing link in some ways. Super interesting. Not that I have any hope for this but Gorbachev and Khrushchev were also barely reformists within their system but did enact quite a bit of change. They just bided their time til they could establish their power bases to enact major change within the system, even if they actually believed in the system. LBJ in the US democratic party as well.
