Loved my 04 350z. Drove it hard everyday for 8 years and tracked it many times and it never broke down on me. After some suspension mods and brakes/tires/exhaust it completly changed the car and it was a blast on autocross and kept up with some porsches/vettes. If you can find one in good condition its definatly worth it.
@@RaitisRides I'm looking at an 07' manual now with low miles in the US. I thought just under 18k was a bit high, but it looks brand new and garage kept. I'm thinking about it.... lol Maybe pick it up next week. I would prefer to wait, but they are getting harder to find.
@@bjornironsides6474 well I’m not paying 7k for an HR with 150k miles.. I live in Florida an it’s damn near impossible to find an HR an if I do there all rebuilt titles with 160k miles for 9000 to 12000..... prices have went up do to people using them in formula events.... Kids are messing up the Z name. The Z should be a collectors at some point not just some beat up sport car with high miles that kids try to sell for 10k... crazy I see DEs with 190k miles going for 8000k talking about input Z1 parts on the car an act like it increases the value by a couple Grand lol get out.
@@geeked_up I even tried outta state m, there all convertibles automatics, an Ill automatics are trash when it comes to sport cars an every time I find an HR it’s already been raced to death an stripped out from in the inside or always a rebuilt title. The list goes on. Recently a guy asked for a beat up HR, I mean this shit was destroyed in side out an dents every where with only 60k miles but he wanted 12000! It would’ve took so much body work to pull out all Those dents an had no interior what so ever.. so honestly I just want a bought a DE z with 110k miles for 4000, it has a few rust spots due to age i can just get repainted over an a front an rear drift bar but everything else is super clean. I’m still looking for an HR, but if I can’t find one by the middle of 2022, I’m just gonna buy an 2017 mustang GT.
I just bought a MT 07 roadster 350z last summer. So in love with it. Basically stock, with just a Magnaflow catback, and I just picked up some Enkeis GTC and it's just amazing. The car is such a great drive for the price. The roof top is very underrated. Drive it all the time, and it works if you don't live somewhere where it rains a bunch!
Great video and content, thanks for taking the time to make this. Currently on the search for one of these that checks all of my boxes. Surprisingly and thankfully there are alot of them still out there without ugly or terrible mods. And with the new Z coming out, the price on these is pretty reasonable considering all that you get. Thanks for the vid!
Beautiful car, timeless lines. I own a 370z and I wish I had enough money on the side to have a 350z as a track car. They are reliable and ready to please. On the comment regarding the door handles. I plasti dipped mine in black, it looked "cool". However, as time went on, I realized the silver handles added a beautiful contrast to the color of the car. Regardless, to each their own, great video.
wow super excited job Joe, 110,000 subs wow brother great job nice car n more, ur on ur way too the top Joe ur the best, I really really mean that from my heart god bless joe
Dodging raindrops. LOL. I really appreciate you giving your honest opinion of a vehicle and giving the zonks even when it's someone you knows vehicle. Very refreshing. I hope to see more Vehicles like this in the future!
Loved seeing this. I have the 04 350 Z roadster I got for a great price with only 88k on the odometer. Had my mechanic check it out fearful it was a bucket of bolts. But it got a clean bill of health. Solid and lots of smile per mile. Keep up the good work!
I own a 2007 6 speed base model coupe. After changing to a limited slip diff, I love everything about it. Only mod is a lightweight flywheel and I still run 13s at the 1/4 mile at 103mph. Pretty good numbers for a stock 13 yr old v6. Hurts a lot of mustang feelings :)
Great ride to be in Joe I personally may get 1 but I'm sold on newer cars. Precise shifting sound and everything else. 1 thing I don't like is how almost every Nissan in Nissan's lineup is CVT!!!!???😡😡. Thanks Joe. Keep up the great work and reviews.
I currently have an 03 350Z that I got for $6k with 80k miles, has given me no serious issues in the whole year and a half that I've beaten on it. Probably one of the best sports car bargains out there right now, they really can do just about anything you throw at them. I've taken mine to the drag strip several times, I drift my car on the weekends, I've taken it to tracks, it handles backroads like nobody's business, and they are very easy to make look good.
I like that little sliding cup holder section, my old '05 has the old crappy style. I can't use them anyway, but the little interior upgrades for the '07 look nice.
As soon as I saw my favorite part of the exterior of the 350Z destroyed... The missing slit dual 4" rolled, round exhaust tips. How anyone could prefer this setup, or any single setup over those beautiful dual cannons gracing the back of these cars is beyond me? I wouldn't care if it saved 100 pounds and gained 50 HP going this route. True dual or not, the split duals just look so much better. A Stillen or Fast Intensions true dual cat-back would look sick on this Z! Everything else is awesome here. Only, I'd add a factory rear lip spoiler and paint and/ or upgrade the brake calipers. I won't dislike the video because I can appreciate a modded car by someone with different taste than myself. Thanks for the video.
Great vid. This Z looks gorgeous in black. Also, great idea on reflecting on relatively old cars. I think it'd be great if you also cover the common issues of these cars so as to help out your viewers who decide on buying them. Cheerio!
because the guy who design this american by the way design a toy... not a car... that why it only look good in black... the new they push orange was bad...
Great review, Joe. you got me thinking now. My only concern is finding a used model in as great a shape as this one is. The one thing thats for sure, is people who buy sports cars drive them like a sports car, meaning they are red lining or near red lining the tach most of the time, to be able to enjoy the thrill of having a sports car. But thats where a professional would be worth the money to have one thoroughly checked out. Providing the seller will permit. Besides the upgrade in brakes, a turbo would be nice on this ride.
If you look keep you eye out you can find a great deal, i bought my Black 04 350Z Touring in excellent condition with only 52,000 miles on it, 3 years ago, off someone on Facebook Marketplace for only $6,500 cash. 3 years later i have 56,000 miles on it, and i've had absolutely no issues with it so far. Great cars, I'm saving to upgrade to either a 370 Nismo, or wait a few years and try and buy the new Z that's coming out, after the price comes down a bit, but i hear the base model is starting somewhere around $30 grand, which is super cheap for a brand new 400 stock Horsepower sports car.
I own a 2008 and there's a couple things you need to look out for. First would be the clutch slave cylinder I would advise when doing a clutch job (even if the slave hasn't gone bad yet) buying and installing the elimination kit otherwise when it does go bad you'll have to drop the entire transmission just to get at the slave again. Second is the fans...be prepared for the engine fans to just burn out. Other than that the motor is relatively stout and not insanely expensive to buy bolt ons for. Also takes extremely well to suspension mods (having redone the entire suspension in my car it's like a night and day difference). Another thing to realize is if you're looking to make big power (talking 500+ at the wheels) then you're going to laying out alot of cash and it would honestly be way cheaper to swap in a LS or 2JZ.
Joe your Professional impressions on what Cars have and don't have help us the public/subs make a better choice for what car is best for us.. Thank you for all you do..
Zonking everything! It is the same car till today... NISSAN needs to step up its game! Great review however from one of my favorite car reviewer Raiti!
I got a 2006 Nissan 350Z gifted from my mother I’m a HONDA guy at hear my always have and will but when I tell this thing is fun to drive holy crap I’m really impressed with this car I just love driving it around so much it’s cray been using shell V power Nitro!!!
Nice review 👍🏼 my first car was an 03 g35 sedan, then got a 05 g35 coupe, and now i have an 08 350z. All of my vq’s have been reliable except for my 05 burning oil. I strongly recommend the HR over the DE. Although, if you do get a DE. 03-04 NON revup is your best bet. I bought my HR for $7500! Clean title, 95k miles, and 6 speed hardtop 🤤 and it hasn’t burn any oil THANK GOD
@@redline350zHR I bought it back in 2019 before the market surged. At the time it was still a good buy, but now it actually appreciated and i think i can sell it for 10k. And i live in Southern Cali for reference. I was definitely lucky because i dont think i could find a clean z for less than 10 now
I got an Infiniti G35 Coupe Rev Up Edition and I'd advise anyone buying G's and Z's to really check for everything when buying these cars used. Had to dump a lot of money in mine just to not make it a death trap. No matter how good the body looks like, always check for everything.
HR is an great car. I did not feel that much of a diffrance driving the HR other then its top end being a little better. Soo went with the DE becuse its cheaper too mod.
ya, he doesnt know what he's talking about, strut brace is standard, they came out in '03 not '02, "looking from the back its obvious this isnt a standard 350z" yet the ONLY difference is a single exhaust instead of dual.... this guy is just bullshitting this video.
Man, I feel bad for all the people who bought this car&370Z new.... We should thank them for giving everyone an access to such a great car for the price. This car is not only decently fast for the price, but you can also make this car sound really good thanks to its naturally aspirated V6, and there are tons of parts out there so you can easily repair or mod the car. I think this car is a pretty good platform to enjoy all aspects of owning a sports car.
Thank you for the ride, I'm sending my 2005 Anniversary Edition model to my brother in Italy and your test is the best way to describe to him the beauty of this car. Thanks again.
I've always loved the Z cars, having owned a 260 back in the day with triple Mikuni carburetors and a couple of nice 280Zs later on: fun cars to drive, as well as easy to work on and reliable as hell. Haven't yet graduated to the 300 series, but may find myself owning one someday. Not for nothing, but I'm boycotting O'Reilly Auto Parts for interrupting the video with a commercial. I don't come to RU-vid to see commercials. I'll watch broadcast TV if I want to see nonstop commercials. I hate that rampant advertising has now infested RU-vid.
07-08 were the best of the 350z as it had the VQ35HR motor. I had an 07 solar orange one of the best sports cars I had, very raw analog sports car. I now have a 370z and still love both.
@@RaitisRides lol I wish I had both. I just have the 370z I traded in my 2007 350z. Also note the 07 to the 08 the vq35hr has a higher rev limit increased to 7500 rpm. Keep up the great reviews.
@@cedricmiller4370 my 2007 350z was a 6speed it is much of raw sports car. As far as the 370z it feels more luxury sports car more refined just as fast if not faster than my old hr z. These engines don't break in until about 30k miles which I am almost at with my 370z and it feels more responsive when I bought it new.
I have 10 more payments, then my '14 Civic coupe is paid off. It's been a great car, but my next one will have a minimum of 200 hp, a similar torque number, and a manual. No more CVT for me. 2020 Civic Si coupe? I've always liked the Nissan Z series cars. I'd probably look for 370 though.
@@alexscarborough6263 well I had a 04 g35 coupe and crashed it a few weeks ago. soo I'm looking more towards s2000. I had my fun with the vqs just ready to get into sumthin fun and enjoyable. I'll get another in the future.
@@hellaflush49 the vq35hr is an entirely different motor, it's like going from a v6 to a v8. Same with the vq37. But an s2k, that's a amazing car, mich better handling, lighter and with one of the best 4cylinder motors ever built.
@@hellaflush49 look up admin tuning in Houston Tx. With longtube intakes and catback single exit exhaust people are making close to 320hp at the wheels with the g37. And about 275- 280 torque.
@@13984980 only the 03-06 have oil consumption issues. I own a 2007 with 227k miles and I go about 3k miles between oil changes, it doesn't burn a drop over that time.
I’m planning to buy it since it’s $6,000 u know I’m a highSchooler not looking for something crazy Iv been looking at this car for a while and Didn’t research it until now and I’m surprised it’s a Japanese car that makes it 10x better for me because I basically love Japan
I don’t like the standard coupes near as much as the convertible. The standard coupes are just too damn round on the top in combination with having a round ass. I’m probably going to create a carbon fiber hard top on my convertible and maybe remove the internal soft top assembly to cut 100lb but still have a better appearance
I think in 2007, they went to the dual intakes and increased HP from 287?? to 305?? don/t quote me on the exact number. The hood has a bump on the 2007+
