I didn't mind her being black in ROTTMNT but in Mutant Mayham, I disliked how they made her into a boring high-school wannabe reporter, her character design and she can't even fight
I mean, that's not boring. It's cool to see how she might've began as a reporter. If the show pushes time forward and the movies allow them to grow up, and the writers do it well, we'll see the Turts become better fighters and April (I hope) becoming a better version of herself. I think it's boring to have a character fully fleshed out in the first film when there's lots more story to tell.
that's not how representation works. white girls have a ton of rep, like a shit ton, every April (other the rottmnt and mirage) has been white. Black people have less rep cause there are less of them in USA but that doesn't mean they shouldn't have rep. and also tmnt takes place in New York and according to the 2023 US Census the white population on New York is only about 37% the rest is mostly, black people, Hispanic people, and mixing people... and also drawing black people and putting them on tv is not an attempt to make racial tension, it's just putting black people on screen and people like you getting pissed. the marvels had a budget of over 270 million and they barley made back 200 million costing Marvel 70 million. Mutant Mayhem had a 70 million budget and and made 100 million in the box office, walking away with 20 million dollars, a bit under what they wanted but still much better then marvel (Tmnt just isn't as popular as Marvel so of course less people went to see it so over it technically made less at the box office). and tmnt always gets changed for a modern audience, that's the whole point of tmnt. each reboot, changes the slang used, styles and behaviors of the turtles and their villains, based on modern audiences, Mario, doesn't dotthat. Mario stays the same new each game and show, the format and animation quality may change but nothing else does so of cause peach looks the same. Tmnt always changes, the 1987 turtles are nothing like their source marital, it was changed to suit the modern child audiences, so it gave them all colorful masks and made them over use popular slang like radical. the 2012 show is much less episodic and has a more serious story and uses cowabunga less cause kids in 2012 don't find it cool any more. rottmnt is even less episodic but has brighter colors and more fluid animation cause thats what was popular in 2018, while at the same time have very dark themes at times (rottmnt movie). and in Mutant Mayhem they say riz!! soooo yeah all your points are dumb. L
It was the uglification of media effect. It's a direct consequence of the transhumanism movement. In the trans community being pretty or attractive is akin to "passing" being ugly and turning people off is seen as being stunning and brave. It's a sad trend but a deliberate one
lol not what transhumanism is. thats the belief that some can physically ascend to something non human by spiritual or robotic means. your talking about transgenderism which I don't think MM April is?? and It's not the "uglification of media" its people realizing that most woman aren't built like 1987 April and most men aren't built like 2003 Casey. it's an attempt to make media more welcoming to people of all builds and looks so they don't feel bad about themselves when watching tv cause, cause everyone looks so stupidly flawless. attractive characters are fine, I love me some good looking main characters but this is just trying to not make kids feel bad about themselves. and it's not like she's disgusting to look at, it's a good character design she's just been made to look like your average socially awkward teen. like geez dude she's like 15-16 she's not going to stunning.
