With all those low pay high mileage orders its basically delivering for free at that point. How is can they even allow a person to order from a restaurant far away? The other day I turned on Eats for fun to see the trash and sure enough I got bombarded with nonstop garbage to screenshot. I laughed at one ridiculous order for $4.25 including tip plus driving 21 miles to the customer, WTF? Orders like this a driver would actually be losing money! I decline crap like that because I ain't doing charity work and hope they tip, but we all know most people on these platforms rarely tip or appreciative of the service people do!

Another issue with ubereats is when you accept a decent offer, you still have to hope you receive the full amount after an hour.

I wasn't getting anything yesterday from doordash so I had to contact them through the app message. Of course the same BS from the AI and would you like to speak to a live agent, I said yes. He was very nice and told me that he had made a few needed adjustments and to give it 5 minutes. The next order came in $11.50 5.5 MI final payout 22.00+ a $100.00 cash tip. Sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the oil. $122.00 to deliver a medium Pizza and 12 chicken wings from Pizza Hut.

DD tried me today like a free sample! $5 batch order pick up at Little Caesars and drop off were a little bit out the way from each other. One customer tipped $2 the other tipped nothing and the base pay was $1.50 each order so its $3 base pay for two orders and a $2 tip seriously man wt efff is this? I called support and asked them os this jew base pay of $1.50 something they're going to implement now? I told him $2 is already low enough but now $1.50 for a batch order for a total of $3 and $2 customer tip. This is the first time this ever happened to me and if this is going to be a normal practice for doordash I'm going to quit I'm not going to work for free for a multibillion-dollar company.

DT brudda the reality is all these gig app companies are garbage, doesn't matter is it's DD, UE, Spark, Instacart, etc, etc. I seriously hope these companies go out of business thry deserve it! No reason thry should allow a customer to place an order and have ot delivered for $2-3 it's just a slap in the face it's an insult and disrespectful man seriously!

Uber used to be great to deliver for, but at some point they said "Hmmm...we gotta take away these drivers' ability to make money." I delivered from 2019 to 2023. From '19 to '21 the earnings were great. They slowed down in '22 and then went to complete garbage in '23. Once I started losing money after paying for gas I stopped delivering for them altogether.

Now u should do an Uber videos of accepting the orders and calling these customers and asking them did they really mean to place an order 2 hours away and why and then just drop em 😂

This Uber exclusive has gotten so bad I’m only doing two hour sessions a now. The longer I stay on the less money I seem to make and the lower it drops my acceptance rate. 5.25 for 11 miles is like a regular now. Dafaq

Exclusive just means if you accept it, you are guaranteed to get the delivery contract. It's just to differentiate from the excessive trip radar offers now (that include map details). The exclusive ones will negatively impact your AR if you decline. Occasionally you get a trip radar, then you get an exclusive before the trip radar expires - that means you are the "chosen one" for that order - but it also means you might be doing that order for less than if you waited for trip radar. (Happened to me where I saw a trip radar for $8.5 was about to MATCH, then an exclusive $7.5 for the same trip showed up - had to decline the exclusive and hope the trip radar hadn't expired and MATCH)

Base pay is so low because it’s acceptable and ppl still take the orders if nobody took the 2$ orders they would be forced to pay more.

In my market UE dropped their starting offer prices significantly about a month ago. Before it started at $8 for 20km trip, now it starts at $4. I believe they are doing it so they can move the order at the lowest possible price. (kind of like a reverse auction where the driver that accepts the lowest price gets the order) What that means is a lot more trash offers that slowly increase in price until someone caves or someone accidentally accepts and doesn't cancel. My AR was 95% and now it is hovering around 45%.

I just did a dash $9 under 5 mi Then I had to come back so that's 10 mi for $9.. It's getting ridiculous and then I get $3 orders It's just ridiculous. Doordash just wants to go bankrupt or something because nobody could work for free and use up your gas and like someone else or other people are saying, charity work...

I make 500-700 a week on uber as my 2nd job. Lots of trash offers. AR rate about 15%, but still get some good ones. I just sit my ass on my couch till something good pops up

I get some good shop and pay uber orders in my area here and there, but mostly the same garbage popping up, with a few here and there that are juiced up on steroids because they were cancelled a few times and pay over 5 $/mile ratio with mostly base pay. It’s nice to have an extra app looking for orders at the end of the night too to increase the chances of getting something headed the same direction

$4.49 to $4.79 in my market Reno Nevada and a once a year brake job $198 to $225 an hour. If I want to compete with the fast food industry at $17 an hour I would need to make $17 plus expenses at a minimum of $21 an hour but preferably $25.

Twice I got an order for 5 & 6$ for a total of 26/27 miles (I rejected it of corse). Uber is definitely being greedy & taking advantage of people who are desperate. I think these low pay rates for the mileage should be illegal.

I finally saw a decent order in my area. It was a shop and deliver order on DD $39 for 3 miles. Literally a store I go to by my house that I know like the back of my hand. The delivery was within 2 miles. It was 70 items but I was able to get it done quickly, in about an hour.

I got a hard 10mile trip, and it has to be over $15 and one customer.

Ever since they implemented the tier program in my market a couple weeks ago. All I see is shop and deliver batched orders. There's no way there's a platinum dasher in my zone. If so, they are literally stupid and will only be around as long as their car lasts. Come winter when everyone drops doordash they'll be desperate again. Offering $1000 for a referral. Their tier program will fail. I'll be watching and laughing. They need to respect their veteran dashers and give them automatic permanent platinum. I still make $700/week w/ a 7% AR. Still cherry pick and only accept low mileage unless I'm going to another side of town for something. Oh and they need to allow the dasher to rate customers. Even choose to not deliver to certain folks. They should also have the customer choose if they prefer certain dashers that have successfully delivered to them previously. Whoever is running their system are idiots who don't do field work in large markets bc if they did they'd know the tier program is trash.

Although it looks nice to have a quick $100 in your wallet right after work, it isn't really the case. 67 cents per mile is the average expense per mile. PER MILE. Then consider you're an independent contractor/gig worker. 30% of gross. So if you make $100 you really only made $70 and that's before you've even considered the mileage/gas for your car. Most gig workers I notice are making less than min wage AND putting wear and tear on their cars/spending gas. They come out OWING AND LOSING money in the end of the day. It comes down to this: how much is your time worth?

My husband and I were in an accident while delivering for doordash and someone hit us I as passanger was hurt and they wondered why my husband didn't deliver the food and when we said why they didn't care I almost died due to injuries and I have a full out fro. Doordash saying they are paying me 10k for my injuries guess what no check sent to me or my attorney and they wanted me to sign not to sue them or trash them

I have a 15% AR on UE. There are a lot of trash orders, but enough good ones to still make it worth while.

It’s the psychology of it all. They know in 95% of markets some idiot will take it for well below a dollar a mile…. Im referring to the AI algorithm that runs the platform for DD and Uber. It’ll only pay high when it has to… if a whole town declines food orders the algorithm freaks out and starts paying higher.

My original zone pays 14 a hour but I zone checked amd found a zone paying 21 dollars a hour so I schedule 8 hours 5 days and raised my acceptance rate from 70 to 97 in a week #gigtalk #Atlanta 🤑🤑🤑

Gas for me is between 3.25 to 3.50 so about .40 cents a mile breaks me even for tires, oil, and wear and tear since i do all my own work on my car just parts cost so about 1.18 a mile covers me and all the bills.
