Bryson DeChambeau is famously controversial, yet this hasn't stopped him from having remarkable success and having a transformative impact on golf. In this video, we will uncover how Bryson DeChambeau changed Golf forever.
met him his rookie year was probably about 15-16. Such a genuinely nice dude. Took me and my buddy into that players locker room to give us each a signed driving caps and a "mini tour" will always root for him.
You left out all of his contributions to long drive and the long drive community. I think that is his main contribution, being a guy who can build a bridge of respect between both sports within the one beautiful game we get to play.
I have a soft spot for contrarians and black sheep because I am one. I tried one length irons and they ultimately weren't for me. But arm lock putting like Bryson has changed my short game
I've recently returned to the game after a 20yr break and I'm slowly learning about all the new tech and players. Got to admit it, I really like Bryson's mental approach to the game and his cheerful, yet focussed demeanor. Those who put so much effort into the physical and mental side of their sport and reap the benefits, will sadly always have their haters. Unfortunately, there are those who still mistake the confidence and drive of youth, for arrogance.
I wish he never joined LIV. But that said, his decency standing up for the kid he threw a ball to after his final round was awesome. He’s totally got my backing. Saw him at the Ryder Cup and he was fun to watch and interacted very well with the fans. Plays like Arnie used to. Really gives 110%.
Saw him at the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straights. Easily the most entertaining player there. Struck me as someone who gives every ounce of effort humanly possible to the game. A true professional. I only hope he takes enough time off to enjoy the life his efforts have afforded him. Seems like a really good guy standing up for the kid at the PGA.
He plays one-length clubs. Quite a few of his ideas about how to play came from a guy named Moe Norman. There are people in golf who believe the things they were told were the way to do it. They are offended when someone says there is another way. They are even more offended when that person has data that backs up their points. I listened to what he had to say and checked it out. It works. The reason that many players on the PGA tour did not like him is that he was a very slow player. He was doing some fairly intricate calculations for every shot. This took some time. Eventually even he agreed that it was too much and he simplified the process to be a little quicker. I like his approach.
His RU-vid presence has, for many of us, shown a version of the guy that we can identify with and appreciate. Who wouldn't want to have a game with him? He's affable, fun, cheeky, generous with his advice, has a game well beyond amazing (hangs around with Paige...) and now I'm starting to sound like a fanboy. Lordy! Anyway - he's good for the game IMHO. That's a long way from my sentiment only a couple of years ago. Cheers - Dave
No mention of USGA decreasing the long established maximum length of driver shaft when Bryson released footage of him crushing drives that would turn nearly all par 5s on tour into par 4s.
My favorite thing about bryson is that people are so mad that he hit it so far and that he is breaking the game of golf. If he has that large advantage, why is it everybody else on tour trying to get super long? If it’s such a cheat code, why isn’t everybody else doing it?
Why is Bryson so controversial? Well, we're talking about golf here... the sport that thinks wearing shorts in hot weather is controversial. Do I need say any more?
Personally, I absolutely love Bryson. He’s the man! I’d love to play a round w him, Pratt, and Tebow. Though Bryson and Tebow would leave me and Pratt fighting all day for 3rd longest drive. Lol
I admire the guy. His usage of physics, biology and psychology just shows us that he is a very smart dude. Equipment is the most controversial issue. But again, it is not clear what is best. If you put computers on billiard sticks, you probably kill the game. But please take a look at the 1939 world table tennis championship ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3P1gnQwuJBY.html and now take a look at points from 2021 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-msn0zfdEk58.html Just the "wow" and "ha" from the 2021 crowd say it all. The 2021 pingpong exchanges are physically impossible with 1939 equipment. It would be like playing golf with a hockey stick. So in the end, Dechambeau electrifies the crowd even if he annoys purists. His modifications of equipment are very minor compared to pingpong. In tennis, they banned the spaghetti rackets but no one would return to wood.
I wasn't into golf when he came on the scene. I have no bias for or against him. Now that I am REALLY into it, I really like the guy. Seems like a genuinely good dude. I root for him! I don't I don't understand the hat at all.
I really like Bryson, his RU-vid content is awesome, his ideas & approach to golf is new & interesting, and I believe he is a good guy, even if misunderstood
He's not different to Hogan, Hogan used science he just taught himself , BD uses modern tech. Hogan knew more about spin and flight trajectory etc than anyone else because he knew it mattered. So does BD
After being 2nd at the last major and being so good about it, plus his RU-vid content... I actually am starting to like him a bit. But he's the only LIV Clown golfer I kind of like. All the rest can burn in their blood money.
Every pro has their unique thing they do. When someone comes up with something successful they all suddenly csnt handle it and have a sulk. Tiger is happy to boast about this or that until someone beats him/outdrives him
IMO changing the game of golf similar to when Tiger appeared on the scene! Had a good chance at winning the Masters this year, even after the DB on the back 9, but couldn't get the putter to work for him.
Why does it matter to everyone else how he elects to practice and play? I think they are just mad because he is incredibly smart and thinks outside the box. This is one thing I can't stand about pro golfers most of them are primadonna's
LOL, so many people drinking their haterade in the comments, came all this way to watch a video saying good things about someone they don't like so they can cry in the comments. Look out everyone, plenty of water hazards from the flood of tears!!
I appreciate his innovations and style but can't support someone who professionally aligns themselves with the apologist arm of Saudi Arabia's government. Multi-millionaires can afford to have some backbone in their politics.
I love it when people get mad at golfers for taking a payday. It’s hilarious. If you were offered triple salary to take a job at another company, would you turn it down?
until the USGA made three rules changes to try to nerf his skills, then the PGA treating the players like indentured servants while they themselves took saudi money through back channels.
these guys have enough money for their entire family to be well off for generations just by playing golf and yet they want more more more shits fkin hilarious all these athletes are geeedy pricks now
